I don't like court cards. To me they have too narrow of a field of interpretation. And I'm really confused when they come out as "final outcome" cards. What are they telling me?
Yesterday I was doing a spread for a loved one and The King of Pentacles was the final outcome. Please help!

King of Pentacles
my favorite King
he is well rounded, and appreciate's things
he realted to earth
has material possessions
but he's so great, he shares
in all situation's

So, this refers, to a Man, that is an earth sign, ascending, or name
but mostly the description, this is the evolved Man
he is ready for completion

hope that helps

I think that as with all of the cards, the context is so crucial in the interpretation.
In a certain position it could be the "narrower" version of the meaning- for example, actually representing an individual- the kind of man that lotus mentioned. Sometimes you can have a personal meaning for the cards- when I read my cards, The King of Pentacles is actually a specific man that I know. It comes from the fact that the card is ruled by earth and he has a lot of Taurus placements. Also my deck is Haindl and on it this card is represented by Chief Seattle. When I first saw that card all I read was "Seattle" and that is where this man is from. The association was made. When it's in a reading for another person, of course I don't think of it that way. Tarot works like that- on our own experiences and associations.
If the reading was focusing on a certain issue- for example- a person's emotions and having trouble with being an "emotional" person and the King of Cups was in the "outcome" I would probably say something along the lines of: "you will learn to be comfortable as an emotional human being". If it was reversed I would say this struggle will continue to play an important role in your life- this may be one of your key lessons.
In a great book that I have which focuses on the Thoth deck, the court cards represent "types of mastery": spiritual (wands), physical (pentacles), emotional (cups) and intellectual (swords). If you read more about the concept of archetypes it will make more sense- the cards depict individuals, but they don't necessarily denote individuals. It is the essence that matters- think of them as symbols of growth and understanding, or "mastery". King and Queen mean true mastery, Prince and Princess (or however they're depicted in your deck) mean you are still in the process. Reversed they often mean neglecting those aspects of your psyche- or overindulgence in the negative traits associated with the cards (materialism, for exmaple, in the case of King of Pentacles reversed).
In some cases I've found that the card may appear solely because of its gendered nature- a "masculine" card in a woman's reading there to represent the masculine aspect of the woman's psyche, for example.
Hope that helps.

Thank you so much for your help.I'll ponder on what you wrote. There are some key words in your responses that instantly rang true.
It was one of those readings where cards were telling a story (over and over and over)not related to the question but seemed "determined" to get the message through. And then to get a King at the end...
