In Canto Ten, we learn more about how Linda said goodbye to Bill at the funeral home. We also learn of her deep regret over not calling him at midnight. There is a subtle implication that he would not have died had he known she still cared (through a phone call). She sings to him and makes a promise to him (that she will not keep). And in his quiet, gentle Gemini way, he tells her goodbye.

Once again, the recurring single red rose makes its appearance! She had always called Bill her comforter (relating to her early thoughts on Jesus), and she sent a comforter of roses for his casket, but a single red rose fell into her shaking hand, and she is carried back in time:

...I would like

to have

this first dance

with you... Page 262

She hasn't quite put the pieces of the puzzle together. Yet.

She grabs among his many letters (like we do when we open up a page of Gooberz and place our finger upon a magickal passage) and picks one randomly--hoping to find a hidden message from the Uni-verse among Carousel Bill's words. It's a thin letter, one written to her after she made angry copmments to him, as she was wont to do. She received no such message, but the letter speaks volumes to all of us. We did/do hear the message. It touched me beyond words, and I hope it did all of you as well. How wise her Bill was. We could all learn much from the words in that letter he sent to Linda.

And this Canto sets the stage. Canto Eleven begins the magickal journey she takes with her GURU, and Gooberz takes a very different turn...

I know - I read this again last light - with canto nine too.

I think I came to a realisation about the name Gooberz too I have to note here or I'll forget.

You know how Linda and Bill called each other Goober.. and Goobers peanuts were significant.. I was looking at her words when she said she found and lost Bill in the autumninal season, and mentioned October - October??

So many things occured to me last night it was amazing - really. For example as I read the telephone conversation part with Linda and the operator.. when it said, the phone rang like a robin - mine did. When she mentioned the voice on the line said - hello? The radio played "Hello, my friend.." There were other things, there was immediate synchronisation for two cantos - it was an incredible experience

Oh my goodness NeoKitty - yes well done! I didn't notice that before; http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum5/HTML/000206.html

I wonder now if there's any other relevence for the name Goober - I remember a while back I saw the name Robert Brewer in Gooberz - in the sense that some of the letters were the same and the way it was written on the front page of the book. Hang on I'll try and find it..

Here it is! It may seem a bit off the wall to some, but it's what I saw that evening; http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum19/HTML/000074.html

Oh yeah, I remember that. It's like the OBER in Robert stands out.

And the BER in Gooberz, stands out in Brewer...so I can see where your coming from.

How many times have you read Gooberz Sheaa?

NeoKitty ~ Hi sweetie. Well I haven't read it front to back methodically. I kinda read it canto by canto in no particular order ~ with a mind to what happened in the other cantos in memory.

I prefered reading it like that for now. There are so many messages in Gooberz ~ I kinda wanted to consume it all. I still use it as an oracle.

I can see a time ~ when my life is more settled; I will read it front to back. It just isn't my choice right now

It's possibly one of the best books I own, and we have years to get aquainted.

I really feel for people who have problems obtaining a copy. If I can get hold of another copy, I would distribute it within the LL family. I'm sure Gooberz will manifest when the time is right.

My copy did, just on time at the end of 2001

The first time I read it Sheaa was front to back, though, now I read in no particular order.

I use it as an oracle too! ...I wrote about my relationship with Gooberz in this forum

Gooberz always manifests at the right time..

Hi sweetie

Yes I saw your thread, although I haven't had time to read it thoroughly as yet. I'm moving this weekend so everything's been a little rushed!

Have a lovely weekend, speak soon,
Sheaa

Thank you Randall, that's sweet of you. It went relatively smoothly actually. I'm very glad I decided to move back for a while
