What does everyone think?

I mean I know they exist because I see them quite often. I seem to be very open to seeing things like that. Sometimes just shadows but sometimes very distinct so that I can see every feature.

Anyone have some stories to tell? Ideas, thoughts, philosophies?

Linda speaks frequently about the ghosts that were living in her home in Colorado. I have never seen one, but I believe that souls can become trapped that have unfinished business.

Have you seen angels or guardians Amber? Whenever I am upset or lonely, I often feel a comforting presence...like an angel.

I definitely think they exist. Tell us about some of the times you've seen them.

I wouldn't call them angels or guardians. I don't think I've seen any of my own guardians in waking life.. more in dreams for that. Most of the spirits I see don't seem to be connected to me in any way. Sometimes they acknowlege me and sometimes they don't.

There are so many instances to tell it's hard to pick one.

Well, my apartment in NYC is in a building that is 100 years old. Since I first started staying there (At first only in the summers and then I moved in permanently) when I was 9 or 10 I knew there was a ghost in the apartment. I got stuck with the room that he preferred. He enjoyed doing things like turning lights on or off, making my cat hiss at the air, etc. I remember one night waking up when I was about 15 with a dark cloud over me holding me to the bed and shaking my shoulders. I'd hear footsteps by my bed, things like that.

Once my father moved out I moved into HIS room and got roommates to sleep in my old room. The first one, Laurie, was an atheist before she moved in. She didn't believe in ghosts. It took her 3 nights to change her mind. She came to me saying "um.. do you know there's SOMETHING in that room?" Her boyfriend refused to ever spend the night there. When she moved out a few months later my friend Ryan (a devoted Christian at that point) was anxious to move into that room. He lasted one night in there and then slept on the couch the rest of his stay. Then there was my friend Lunita... quirky girl. She knew the room was haunted but enjoyed sitting in there and talking to the ghost.

I wouldn't have minded talking to him if he had been a positive influence. not that he was EVIL, mind you, but just to walk in the room was very strange. The air would change in there and become very heavy. It was a dark, depressed, sad place.

I was in my new room one night laying on the bed and I looked over to the wall that connected the two rooms and standing in the corner was the man. At first I thought Lunita had brought someone home with her and he was being freaky and came in my room. I sat straight up and said "What do you want?" He was tall, thin, naked. He turned around and walked through the wall back into the other room. That's when I realized it was the ghost I'd been dealing with for years.

It was about this time I started working with a coven. My High Priest and Priestess were fascinated by my stories and agreed to come to the apartment to try to communicate with this entity. They went into the room alone for an hour or so and when they came out they were shaken but happy.

Apparently this man used to live in that apartment, they described him and it was exactly as I had seen him. He hadn't been a very nice person during his life and had hurt a lot of people, one woman in particular, and he was afraid to move on into the next world because the people he had hurt so badly might be there and not want him there and he didn't want to hurt them further. Well, my HP and HPP managed to help him out of that train of thought and he did move on. I never had a problem in that apartment again.

When I first moved into this apartment here in LA... I would see a small boy.. about 2 years old. My son was almost a year old by that point and sometimes I'd think the boy spirit was Hunter until I'd find Hunter was still sleeping next to me. I wondered why there was a young one here and it made me sad because he seemed a bit lost.

The people across the hall from us had moved out only a week or so after we moved in. We didn't know for a while that the reason they moved out was because their son - who was a toddler - had died of cancer and they couldn't stand to stay in the apartment with the memories. So I assume the boy's spirit came to this apartment just because I was a new mom and Hunter was there. That explained why he looked so lost. He didn't stay long, though, only a few months. He's long since moved on. Sweet little guy.

Most of the ones I see don't affect me so much or have stories that I know. Usually I'll only see them once or twice and then they go on their way.

The past two nights when I've gotten into bed I've been seeing small, bright, flashes of twinkling light in the dark room. Sort of like white Christmas tree lights but about 3 or 4 of them for a few seconds and then they're gone.

Just one question : "Did you felt fear when you saw those spirits ?"

You can call them spirits if you want.

um...and I just thought I needed to get my eyes examined...I've been seeing the EXACT same thing...except it's during the day, anywhere...even while at Kevin's...I even saw one in the restaurant...but i can say this, they ALWAYS appear to my LEFT side, never my right...they are always on the left side of my body/eye..have you noticed anything like that?

oh and Amber, you should see all the orbs in the pix at Jane's place on Saturday night...!

Usually I do not feel fear when I see these things. I'm not sure if that's because I'm so used to it by now. I have had some frightening things happen to me but that happens only very rarely.

Most of the time, it's just a normal part of the scenery now. Most of them don't intend any malice and if one shows up that is does not have good intentions I pretty much know how to get rid of them in a hurry at this point.

Bernsie~
I want to see those pictures! We should start a thread on orbs in pictures here. What do you think?

Amber

If you are not afraid is a great sign, they don't want to do nothing bad to you.
They are spirits that are arrested to earth and they need light, they need to go for the place destined to them and this place is not among us.
Something is keeping them here, something arrests them here.
Anyway, it is not good for you to be enclosed of them, therefore if you want to help them and yours-elf, and if you believe in prayres , I strongly sugest that you pray for them, ask that they find the light, that they see the light, that they walk to the light.

I don't think I've shared this with anyone in a long time. Mostly because a lot of the people in my life aren't open to this sort of thing. I don't even think I've shared this with Amber.

The first time I went to England, almost 10 years ago, I felt the presence of something evil as I was getting ready to go to sleep. I wasn't very aware of this sort of stuff at the time. I will still clinging somewhat my Catholic upbringing but at the same time starting to question it. I remember feeling very cold and that this presence was evil. I prayed to my grandfather to come and protect me which he did. He didn't come alone and I still have no idea who he was with. I have always guessed it to be his twin brother, a Methodist Minister in this life.

I'm not entirely certain what happened overnight but the guy I was staying with was changed the next morning. Things with him ended up not working out. I do know that my grandfather stayed with me off and on the rest of the trip.

When I got home I asked a friend who knew about this sort of thing. He told me I was better off not knowing more than I already did. He did acknowledge that there were lots of evil doers in England and that it probably wasn't unusual for something like this to happen. I decided he was probably right and let it drop.

Oh, I should mention this was in Nottingham City. I don't know that matters or not but it seems important.

One time I saw my grandmother after she died. I think you would cll her a ghost. I felt real bad when she died and did a lot of crying. she came to my bed and I wasn't even scared. I was glad to see her. I wanted to hug her but she left. I never saw her again. but she was my ghost.

Hello Sunny Day! Welcome to Lindaland! You just reminded me that I too saw my grandmother briefly after she passed. I was in middle school and a couple nights after she died, I awoke in the middle of the night and saw her standing at the foot of my bed. She had a soft, warm glow around her and she was smiling a gentle smile...as if to tell me she was fine. It was very comforting. Thanks for triggering that memory.

Amber - that is good advice to direct those spirits to the light. Keep us posted!

With Halloween just around the corner, ghosts seem the appropriate thing to discuss.

I'm afraid the only ghosts I've ever seen are on Halloween, trick or treating, and at parties. But that's okay with me. I don't think that I would be so brave as those of you here who have actually seen REAL ghosts!!!

I'm not really one of your "brave" Scorpios when it comes to spooky stuff.

Amber, I am astonished at your many encounters, and your lack of fear. I can't imagine having an encounter with a ghost, and not having my hair stand on end - just a bit! I guess we're coming from two different worlds.

I do believe in ghosts, but they don't have to prove anything to me. I'll just go on believing in them, without ever having to see one.

Happy Halloween, everyone!

In love and light,
Freedom

Hi,
I just wanted to share a little something with you guys. First I am a firm believer in ghosts/spirits but ghost are just like people they can be good or bad, they can be innocent or tricky, soooo always be careful. Remember that after death he soul is supposed to move on and not stay on earth. I have not seeing one, but heard it and felt it very much……I love it when my grandfather is around me, funny because I can describe him pretty well, and he pasted away before I was born. When I was in high school he used to fall asleep in my room and snore. At first I used to think I was going crazy….. Well in any case one time I had a bad encounter with a ghost in South America. This ghost actually attacked me I felt my leg burn I thought I had 3rd degree burn, I had a hard time sleeping for some time. But what I do is whenever I feel somebody else in the room or if someone else it had been there I call my grandparents or my angels. So I do advise to please be careful especially in certain areas and during a storm, it seems for some reason they enjoy it more……
Happy Halloween

I've had some frightening moments. I've come in contact with some 'entities' that are not exactly nice and they've been scary. I don't tend to talk about those as much, though.

I imagine if I had never seen a ghost and suddenly came into contact with one I'd be pretty shaken up.

Amber,

Whenever you are not sure what or whom you are dealing with do protection in your home and carry one with you.

I do apartment cleansings quite often actually! All weekend I was burning cleansing and protection incense just because something didn't 'feel' right. Most of the time, though, the 'ghosts' I see are quite harmless.

Try camphor. It really works.

A friend taught me that the best way to clean a place is putting camphor in water and then you can use a vaporizer .
Then you "imagine" a pentagram with lights in each door and each window of your house.

I know what I'm talking.
Those energies can disturb our life, even without having conscience that they are making that.
I had serious problems in my house and in my life because of this...

Take care

I've never tried camphor! If I'm just doing a simple cleansing I have several different kinds of incense I burn on charcoal and burn it about the apt.

If I'm doing a heavy-duty cleansing I'll use the incense and burn a sage smudge stick and carry it to all parts of the apt, closets, etc. Then take consecrated water and sprinkle that around the apt and draw (as well as visualize) pentagrams on the windows and doors while chanting a little protection chant. I don't do this very often, though.. maybe once a year.

I'll definately try the camphor, though!

You are doing fine.
But if you'll try camphor, you can do it one day and repeat 15 days latter.
That's ok.
You don't have to do it every day...I don't have patience or time to do it myself

Then you can repeat once a month.
There's another thing that it's easy.
You can put a glass with alcohol and a piece of camphor behind the entrance door and see what's going to happen...
When I did it at my house,on the next day the alcohol had disapear...

Spirits can't croos when they "feel" camphor.
My friend is a psychic since she was a child, she knows everything about those subjects and what I'm teeling you , I learned from her.

I hope this work

Hi Amber,
You know what is also good, bay leaf. I always bless it before using it. Also candles I am not sure if you know how to bless one. For protection white or very soft “baby blue” rub oil halfway done and half way up on each candle and give a purpose to each candle. What I used to do is bless one for my Angeles, saints and fairies, another one for the spirit of the dead (like my grandparents and the good spirits), the next one for protection for my self, my environment and my loved ones on earth, the last one I asked that I always may have a strong spirit, intuition, love which will guide me for productive happiness in this life.
