I posted this elsewhere and thought it might be useful:

The purpose of magic is to provide a physical vessel for mental energy. Through various rituals the will of the caster is brought forth into the world and made more tangible. Magic allows us to bring about beneficial events for ourselves and others. Magic is never used for harm or bad intentions. The simplest form of magic is performed through incantations.

Incantations, or spell casting words, can be composed by the caster, or can be found in books or on the internet. All manner of incantations are available, and sometimes made up incantations are more powerful because they are imbued with the casters mind. Incantations should be used in conjunction with the following.

elements:
salt is a very powerful protective agent, put a bag of it under your pillow, or put a line of it across your doorway... for the most extreme cases rings of it are made around the caster

Fire is a very powerful agent for getting what you want. Write your wishes or an incantation on paper and burn it...burning anything from a past lover you want to forget or paper with his name written on paper will help rid him from your life

Water is good for healing, esp salt water..try bathing in salt water with candles after casting a spell

Air of course is an element present in every spell unless you're in outerspace...air carries the energy outward into the world

The basic elements are, in my opinion, the most powerful spell casting tools. Earth or dirt can be substituted for salt, although I woudln't because it has impurities. Any spell is further strengthened by a wand, made from wood preferably, about the size of the casters forearm+hand. Wood is associated with spirit, and therefore is the conduit for magic. Remember that wood was or is infused with water, so it retains those healing properties. The natural qualities of wood make sure that there is a purity to any spell cast with it present. Charms made out of wood are also excellent for warding off bad or attrcting good spirits.

Metal on the other hand is more about power, and has properties of earth and fire. A metal wand is good but more dangerous, and I would advise against its use. Using metal in charms can be a good idea, but the use of metal always invokes the use of ego, as metal enhances the power of the user. Generally speaking, metal can attract negativity because it enhances the ego/power of the user.

All manner of precious gems can be used for charms/spells....each one has its own specific properties.

Heres a few:

jade can enhance prophetic dreams and increase fertitily, (maya you don't want jade)

Quartz is extremely powerful as it is a magic amlifier....it increases the clairvoyance and focus of the caster, thus empowering the spell

Turqouise brings prosperity in general and is known for luck and sometimes protection

Heres a good gem site====find your birthstone

*just as a disclaimer...casting any spell that will intentionally harm another person will bring horrible reprucussions, don't do it. Negative intent alone brings about bad karma, let alone amplifying it with magic. Instead cast a healing or protection spell towards the object of your dislike.

BR, what do you think of love spells?

I'm always hearing not to cast them because it messes with another's will. But, I happen to think that, unless you're deliberately trying to pursuade a person to love you against his/her will, then they are okay to do.

What if the person just needs a little push to consider you as a lover?

Yeah I understand your concern because you are possibily changing someone's path in life. I personally wouldn't cast a spell to make someone fall in love with me.

Directly trying to get someone to fall in love with you through magic is bound to backfire. Altering people's will generally falls under the realm of black magic, which increases negative karma of the caster.

However, i WOULD cast a spell to make myself more attractive/sexually appealing. Have any rubies or metal jewelry? Cast a fire charm to enhance sexuality on the item and wear it when you're around your lover. Put the item to be charmed directly into the blaze, don't burn yourelf!

Even wearing red around him might have the desired effect. Also you might try casting a spell to open his heart chakra, which is completely fine because it does not alter his will. The problem with this is it could make him fall in love with someone else, as it would make him more aware of others emotions in general. But you could cast it before you knew you were going to see him. This spell would involve water. I would reccomend the first spell. Even though this spell doesn't alter will, I would use it as a last resort.

hey if its okay i wanted to add a suggestion
i think it helps if you ask permission from the tree you use to make a wand from.
also tree have diffrent properties
i have a wand i made from an apple branch for love and healing
the tree was torn down and i asked it if i could have a branch , i got real good vibes so i cut it & thanked it.
the wand (only wand i have ever had)
is beautiful, it has a pink quartz at the end
i really took my time and poured love into it.
i have never used it, i keep it wrapped in blue silk/ and store it away in a drawer.
mainly i wanted to make something comforting to the nerves when love ones are sick/sad ect.
its like a positive energy focus.

BR it's going good! And you?

Fayte I know we've mentioned this before, but I really like that book!

And Devilfish, along those same lines, I think it is awesome to ask permission from all your made tools. And it's cool when they find you, too!

I was being a worry-wart about a certain situation one day so I went down to the river to find peace of mind. I was on the bank and looking at a rock that was speaking to me, it was in the mud and it seemed to be my feelings--stuck in the mud looking spotty. I started to dig it up and realized that the rock was much larger than I had expected--only the very top seemed to be showing. I dug and dug and it took a while, the whole time I'm relating to this rock being so deep in the mud!! So I finally unearth it and wash it off to take a look. The bottomside was such a pretty green--it didn't look that way where it was sticking out on the top, but it was very green and smooth. The best part was that it had three cracks that totally looked like a giant happy face!! It was grinning at me, maybe for pulling out of the mud, or maybe to try to cheer me up, but it was a very happy rock!! We sat on the bank of the river and smiled at each other- It was very cool. I love that rock.

Wow, thanx Blue Roamer, I found a lot of this useful. I'm running a line of salt across my doorway as we speak (time being nonexistent). And thanx for the link, too, I'm a treasurer of stones.

I've got a silver chain with a small pentagram I wear for protection. This girl who "says she talks to angels" (and I'm sure they all know her name) gave it to me; she said a little voice told her to. ((Things that make you go hmmm.))

Okay, then...that man! He's coming around. (If you mean the one who needs a little push) I gave him an option out if it wasn't right for him. I usually leave a disclaimer esp. in love spells because, hey, he doesn't HAVE to fall in love, but if he is so inclined too I'll make it as bewitching as I can. hehehe
