Atreyu: But I can't! I can't get beyond the boundaries of Fantasia![G'mork laughs and Atreyu gets a little angry] Atreyu: What's so funny about that? G'mork: Fantasia has no boundaries. [laughs] Atreyu: That's not true! You're lying. G'mork: Foolish boy. Don't you know anything about Fantasia? It's the world of human fantasy. Every part, every creature of it, is a piece of the dreams and hopes of mankind. Therefore, it has no boundaries. Atreyu: But why is Fantasia dying, then? G'mork: Because people have begun to lose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the Nothing grows stronger. Atreyu: What is the Nothing? G'mork: It's the emptiness that's left. It's like a despair, destroying this world. And I have been trying to help it. Atreyu: But why? G'mork: Because people who have no hopes are easy to control; and whoever has the control... has the power! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0088323/quotes http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iJOLGJoX7KM Film's song lyrics: Turn around - look at what you see. In her face the mirror of your dreams. Make believe on everywhere get it in the line. Hidden on the pages is the answer To a never ending story. Reach the stars fly a fantasy Dream a dream and what you see will be. Rhymes that keep their secrets will unfold behind the clouds And there upon the rainbow is the answer To a never ending story story. Show your fear for she may fade away In your hands the birth of a new day. Rhymes that keep their secrets will unfold behind the clouds . .. My parents had that movie when I was a kid and whenever I was sick..or.."sick" I would pop it in and watch it. I'm a hopeless dreamer/romantic, so these sappy movies always tug at my heart strings... good one LTT!IP: Logged |

This is true to an extent, but there are two problems here - if the politicians "gain the power" then there is no way to know how to stay "in power", hence the powers may always change, and in the US, no one president can stay in office more than twice, so regardless how good they are, somebody could take over. In any case, I believe most people probably vote against the person they don't want, in which case it comes down to the choice of two evils, and the most evil may not get elected. Anyway, this path is simple in a way because it's just about keeping the masses at bay by feeding them hopelessness, then taking advantage of this with money to buy their trust, votes, and power. The difficult part (IMHO) is how to actually make a difference while you have the power - considering the number of people who may want to share it, or at least know what you're doing with it, so when do you have the time or support from people to change things? So this brings me to problem number 2 - TRUE power lies in individuals. We are all unique and have enormous potential to do the right things. So this can be inspired to make us act, or we can inspire ourselves. The problem here is that there is no centralised system for this (except perhaps God/Spirituality). We can be our own enemies, or we can make a difference, but to get six billion people to care enough at the same time could be tricky. Each person can try, but this path, while I think is the most important, is also the more complex to carry out. Some people try, but it's like lighting a candle to the darkness. At least we can try, hope, love, and support one another in their attempts as well.Heaps of Love, Dean. ------------------ I realized it for the first time in my life: there is nothing but mystery in the world, how it hides behind the fabric of our poor, browbeat days, shining brightly, and we don't even know it. Unfortunately, anyone who is "elected" (selected) is ruled by the same powers behind the scenes.Alex Collier (contactee, whistleblower etc, talks more about what we can do as individuals in this amazing talk): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uR46QjXjLH0

i think it should be remembered that politicians are people too and SOME of them are SMART enough and decent enough to actually play the "powers that be" at their own game. if this weren't the case the game would have been completely sewn up long before now. i don't think they will ever gain complete control. i can't tell you why, but i feel it is crucial to remember that they have their own in-fighting and disagreements of opinion to deal with too. and in most places despite varying degrees of control people live their lives by their own lights, not by what they are told... I don't think this is targeting politicians in particular. That is only one of many ways in which we can be controlled. The strongest being the media, what we see on TV, movies, ads, etc. Those are the things that tell us who to be, how to act, how to live, what to like. Sadly that is what the masses deem acceptable, what they are being fed at any given moment. Hopeless, passionless people who are OK with mediocrity and too lazy to find out what they really want. Those who do not follow the trends, believe the hype, or buy the misinformation are those who are not easily controlled because they THINK FOR THEMSELVES.IP: Logged |

to some extent i agree but over the years i have noticed that despite media saturation most people do not identify or want to identify with the characters they see on the media. and most people may be swayed for awhile by propaganda but it wears off when the prophecied catastrophes don't materialize. in other words i have come to have more faith in human intelligence/creativity/common sense than i did when i was younger...

Kat you always speak to my soul, but sometimes you go really deep..love it!:"in other words i have come to have more faith in human intelligence/creativity/common sense than i did when i was younger... and in the fact that evil will always implode on itself. our saving grace perhaps. not to say that we don't need to stay conscious and cultivate our own energy!!" When we have that mindset we have won before the war starts......which is exactly the way we should live our lives. IP: Logged |

Atreyu: What will happen if he doesn't appear? The Childlike Empress: [sadly] Then our world will disappear - and so will I. Atreyu: How could he let that happen? The Childlike Empress: He doesn't understand that he's the one who has the power... to stop it. He simply can't imagine that one little boy could be that important. Bastian: Is it really me? Atreyu: Maybe he doesn't know what he has to do! Bastian: [shouts] What DO I have to do? The Childlike Empress: He has to give me a new name. He's already chosen it. He just has to call it out. I had an 11:11 message delivered to me once. I was watching LOTR: The Two Towers when Aragorn said at the exact moment: quote: There is always hope.
------------------ Ask Me anything. Anything. I will contrive to bring you the answer. The whole universe will I use to do this. So be on the lookout. This book is far from My only tool. You may ask a question, then put this book down. But watch. Listen. The words to the next song you hear. The information in the next article you read. The story line of the next movie you watch. The chance utterance of the next person you meet. Or the whisper of the next river, the next ocean, the next breeze that caresses your ear—all these devices are Mine; all these avenues are open to Me. I will speak to you if you will listen. I will come to you if you will invite Me. I will show you then that I have always been there. All ways. ♥ IP: Logged |

This reminds me of the prose I learned at school. It's about one person who asks 'God'.... "Hey God why is there so much war, hunger and destruction in the world? If you love us why don't you do something about it?", And God says...... "I did...... I made you"Enough to give anyone a messiah complex methinks... BUT it does however highlight the individual and collective power that each one of us has to do the seemingly impossible... IP: Logged |
