I'm neither a fan, nor a hater of the darn things

Do like them, as long as they stay outside..and keep their cat ways off of my black clothing!

Do cats adopt you, or do you adopt them?

Love to hear stories of feline hijinks!

I don't want to sound like a prick but I'm not a fan of them. Idk they are just weird to me, I don't know what it is. Oddly enough the darn things are obsessed with me.

I've always owned male tabby cats. Not sure how it works out that way.

I like cats and other small animals, but I tend to get too emotionally invested in them that it's like killing blows when something happens to them. Can't handle it.

Also can't stand irresponsible pet owners. If I had the choice, I choose not to own a pet, but I take care of what is mine and give my heart to them.

/end mini rant.

Cats tend to adopt me...we have an understanding..I toss them stuff every now and then...they show up when I call them

Way back in the day, lived in a small place and left the window open so the cats could hop in and get a feed.

They'd hop on the table then on the floor, the table was one of those put your keys/watch/hat on deals

Late one night...walked out of the bathroom and looked down the hall and the ring leader of the cats looked at me, grabbed my watch...and out the window he went!

Was like..."...you little SOB..where are you going!!!!"

That sucker was gone!

reminds me a bit of the dog that stole my 20 dollar bill when I dropped it on the ground. I have no way of knowing but I suspect that dog had something in Taurus.

I am partial to hamsters. I have had them my whole life. I also like donkeys. That sort of stubborn tenacity donkeys possess reminds me of myself.

LOL to the animals stealing stuff!!

I took the screen off my window when I lived in Cali so my cat could go in and out as he pleased. He always managed to come home around the same time and sleep with me.

I think an older mama cat who is patient and loves kids would be a good first pet for my kid.

What was worse was, that cat, watch in mouth, looked back at me...and I'd swear he winked at me before he hoped out of the window with watch in tow!

His name then became..Thugee!

Used to be Apache, b/c a friend came over with a pittie while I was holding him at my chest...my face became his drag strip

I love cats. They like me. They're my familiars, unlike dogs - dogs almost always bark whenever they see me.

I love stray cats, they don't belong to anyone, come and go as they please.

Some years ago, I used to feed this huge ginger cat, he looked like a tiger cub or something lol. He came regularly for about 2 months, often at night. Maybe this is just wishful thinking on my part, but yah, one night he just walked up to me and dropped a rat at my feet, then backed away. Probably a "gift" or something lol.

In my culture, the old superstition is that cats are "bad omens" that bring poverty - mostly because of their meows - it sounds a bit like the word "poverty". Many people never feed or bring a stray cat home.

Nice, for me...late at night, perhaps I'd been drinking...will go out and call the local strays with food in my hands

Moon light...call the cats..next thing ya know 10-15 cats show up all...hungry, a literal mob of cats

For myself, this is one of the things that makes life Beautiful, it does not depend on $$$$..

I've always gotten along with cats and dream of them a lot. Last year when exhausted by the holidays I even laid down "just for a second" and instantly went into a dream, realized it, and tossed a drink as it was just a dream (and tasteless anyway, part of how I knew it was a dream) and tried to make myself wake up until one of the cats licking up the spilled drink came onto my lap and I recognized him as the barn cat I liked when I was 14 (16 years ago then) and thought, "Okay, I can stay awhile."

An odd thing was I knew a cat who bullied another cat...but the bullied cat was a rat chaser/killer while the cat that bullied him ran away from rats (even when the rat was caged). I don't get that. (Oh, and the rats came from an invasion by some do gooders who caught a bunch of beach cats which made some cat care facility get money and as a result the rat population exploded there. Such is what happens when too many people act on their feelings without bothering to THINK about what they're doing first.)

Cats came to me for charity though they also went to a neighbor who was a cat lady. Sometimes I fed them though I'd often say my charity was fickle.

I got into a fight with my Aries partner because while I was buzzed (as I ordered a "hot" Thai dish which was much spicier than I expected but was so delicious while heated that I didn't want to wait several minutes to get some rice so I ended up drinking more Singhas than I should've) me and others went into the store to grab some things and on the spur of the moment I saw some Fancy Feast on sale and just grabbed some as a treat for the "outdoor cats" and no one noticed until we got home and Aries was angry that I made a big deal about our finances when I just bought several cans of Fancy Feast for cats that didn't even belong to us. As my tongue was still burning from the Thai prawns I made some ice cream topped with brandy for both of us and after Aries seemed to forget I was careful to put the emptied cans into the cat lady's recycling bin so Aries wouldn't see any reminders of "Fancy Feast Gate."

And a very strange experience is that the one unquestionably precognitive dream (without any symbols) I had was about feeding a stray cat. The dream was so vivid and correct (save that I didn't leave the library on Christmas night but rather walked past it on Easter night, and the Catholic church wasn't lit up for Christmas but for Easter, other than that the dream was perfectly accurate) and yet this dream didn't change anything, had I not dreamed it I'd still have fed the cat exactly the same way (though because of the dream I did ask around and found his owners had gone on vacation for Easter and came back soon after, I never saw the cat again). I've always wondered out of all the things to happen in my life why was that the only incident for me to have a vivid prophetic dream about?

A sad one was a very independent tom cat (though he did scavenge so me and the cat lady put out food for him) never let anyone pet him, not even me or the cat lady. Yet one day I came home to find him by my door. I opened it and he walked straight in wobbling. I knew something was wrong by how he moved and looking up his symptoms on the net I determined it was antifreeze poisoning. I called every vet in the phone book but as it was like 2 hours before Thanksgiving weekend everyone brushed me off and played stupid and even refused my offer to pay double to see him now (because he'd die unless treated within the next few hours, as far as I knew it was already too late). The most one did was say she could schedule an appointment for Monday and I was like, "Don't you understand that he'll be dead by then?" She refused to understand, she wanted to get off for Thanksgiving.

I pretty much gave him a warm lap and let him lay on blanket in a box. I checked on him frequently and he died about 2 AM on Thanksgiving. I lost a lot of faith in humanity that Thanksgiving, but the cat lady next to me did bury him and we held a funeral for him (even though he'd chased her once). For what it was worth (probably not much) I did create some fliers about using the safer kinds of antifreeze and passed them around the neighborhood.

Btw, cats LOVE cold turkey. When your Thanksgiving turkey isn't as fresh as it was let the cats (at least outdoor cats) get it, I'd see a bunch of them grab a piece and run off growling they loved it so much.

Tragic PJ

For myself, a litter of strays had a very very virulent flea infection

Social network led to a vet tech of a friend shaving the cats hair off...still did not save it's life

Odd story, buried it out in the yard next to a very old white rose bush, that spring it bloomed with these huge white flowers

Oh yeah, when I was staying at Granny's while she was in the hospital with a pulmonary embolism (and taking care of her chores on the farm) I saw one of her cats in a wheelbarrow (which was very warm in that heatwave). I was mischievous in moving it around but the cat loved it so much he purred loudly and would jump up into the wheelbarrow when I went by it (sometimes he even put his claws into my jeans to pull me in that direction) and he'd purr every time I gave him a ride in the warm wheelbarrow.

I don't know how many cats would like that but he loved it.

When I roast some chicken legs/thighs I put the pan outside..

^ like a boss

I found her (or she found me) in the backyard of the place I was renting. I thought she was a stray but she tried to get into the house and she was way too friendly so my friends and I suspected that she could be just lost. We decided to keep her for a few days and we went around asking if anyone lost a cat. After a week, no one claimed her so we gave her to animal shelter. She got adopted a few days later. They said she was a few months old, <probably> a Siamese mix, with the "seal points", blue eyes and distinct meowwwwwwww.

LOL we used to talk about her sometimes, and we all agreed that we were happy to come home and have a cat rushing out to greet us. She did this thing where she climbed onto our laps, put her front paws on our chests, stared at us in the eyes and purred like a motor engine. Loved taking baths and all, she was such a cute cat.

Ah, it was quite a long time ago.

The only animal I've ever been bitten by was a squirrel.

For some reason, my siblings thought I was a miracle healer or some mess and kept bringing me almost dead animals that one of our dogs kept catching. They brought me a squirrel that had a chance at living, but no vet was open that weekend.

It was a traumatic event for me @__@.
