OK Ian Well the Bible can predict future events with exactitude. If it could not, it would be silly for anyone to follow it. God does not ask for blind allegiance. He gives lots and lots of evidence that the Bible is different from any other book in all time---ever.------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

I was meditating on how to approach this. Two years ago, I spent 3 weeks going over Bible Prophecy and people still said,"Yes, but.........." This time, I will tell you about the future so that can be lessened. When I tell you a prophecy, *I* am not saying it. The Bible is. I am just someone who is trying to educate anyone who wants to learn what the Bible says. ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

One thing that fascinates me is how two people can see the same thing, read the same thing, both be equally intelligent, and come up with two very different perspectives, each worthy of examination. So, while I don't know how active I'll be on this thread (if I don't feel that I can be respectful or keep things cool, I will not participate), I do feel that it's an interesting (though very, very, very delicate and also very divisive) subject to discuss, and will probably be reading it. Kudos to someone having the guts to bring it up and discuss it openly! The only thing that I'll ask as a moderator is that people keep it civil if there are varying opinions, and especially if there is a big conflict/if the opinions are not compatible; I do want to help this section of the forum become more active, so I'm hoping that exchanges on this thread will be honest but respectful. I'm really hoping that more people will jump in; this topic, though touchy and challenging for the strong feelings it can evoke from people, is one worth examining, in my opinion. So yeah, good topic! Looking forward to seeing where it goes. IP: Logged |

Well, with Bible Prophecy, it is not delicate as it says what it says with specific times and places such that many prophecies are as clear as day whether or not we like them to be as such. Thank you for your interest Regardes. My passion in life is to serve the God of the Bible. Beyond that, I have no agenda other than my own ego with which I wrestle constantly.------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Are you doing Major Prophets Minor Prophets or both? I`m curious on your take of Obadiah. ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

I am not familiar with him Juni. Please, tell me.I would love to learn! I am thinking in terms of prophecy in the real world--ones that are concrete and easy to understand such as the one about Syria. No one wants any of the bad ones, so to speak, but they are in the Bible so one must address them. The earthquakes are in there as INCREASING in the last days. The weather will be increasingly strange as one can see. I want to try to be very very practical so people can see it easily. ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. The Book of Obadiah is an oracle concerning the divine judgment of Edom and the restoration of Israel. Summary: Yahweh summons the nations to the overthrow of proud Edom. The men of Esau will be brought down from their lofty strongholds; their hidden treasures will be rifled; their confederates will turn against them; nor will the wise and the mighty men in Edom be able to avert the crushing calamity (Obadiah 1:1-9). (2) The overthrow of Edom is due to the violence and cruelty shown toward his brother Jacob. The prophet describes the cruelty and shameless gloating over a brother's calamity, in the form of earnest appeals to Edom not to do the selfish and heartless deeds of which he had been guilty when Jerusalem was sacked by foreign foes (Obadiah 1:10-14). (3) The day of the display of Yahweh's retributive righteousness upon the nations is near. Edom shall be completely destroyed by the people whom he has tried to uproot, while Israel's captives shall return to take possession of their own land and also to seize and rule the mount of Esau. Thus the kingship of Yahweh shall be established (Obadiah 1:15-21).

I don't know about Obadiah. If you care to explain it in a little more practical way, I would love to learn. My Prophecy teachers are Hal Lindsay, Grant Jeffries and Les Feldick. I want to use very simple prophecies with easy to see fufilments as that is what makes a teaching moment which is what I am all about. I would love to learn about this Obadiah if you could make it more practical, Juni. I know that Ezekial and the Dry Bones is a picture of the Jewish people coming back from the dead i.e forming the state of Israel.I think this is a double reference to Messianic Jews as well. Bible Prophecy can be complicated when some things have double fufilments. That is why I like the simpler prophecies for teaching purposes such as something like Isiah 53 but I am all ears for new learning!------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. So many don`t agree on Obadiah and there doesn`t appear to be practical understanding.Thats why I hoped you had studied it and had a perspective to share ------------------ Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. ~Rumi~ IP: Logged |

Thank you Juni for asking. I am honored you would ask me. I am not a professional scholar just a student. I do know someone who could answer that question though as he has a Phd Hebrew and Greek studies and is a professor of Biblical Studies. He is a Messianic Jew so his perspective would be as a Jew and a Bible believing Christian. He was brought up as an Orthodox Jew. His family threw him out when he accepted Jesus and even had a literal funeral for him. He is a fascinating person and is very intellectual AND very clear which is almost impossible to find. His name is Arnold Fructenbaum. I have met him at a conference and he is so humble considering how much he knows. Anyway, if you are interested, I could look up his site and put it on. I have not listened to him in many years, just because I learned enough for my own satisfaction ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

Here it is, Juni. His biography is amazing. His parents declared him dead after he accepted Jesus as a teen. They had a funeral for him complete with all that goes into an actual funeral. He went to college on pure faith. He enrolled with no money for it. He told no one of his need. Someone paid for his entire 4 years in college. He still does not know who. http://www.ariel.org/ ------------------ Passion, Lust, Desire. Check out my journal http://www.mychristianpsychic.com/

wow...really amazing that he was blessed with having his college paid for I know a few biblical historians and scholars (most are priests, some professors); some of the ones that I've known really are cool. I love it when I meet intelligent people who are also really approachable, human, and just all around good people. Sounds like you've had that experience too, Ami Anne, from what you've written about the time you met him. It really is amazing how blessings can turn up in life sometimes, and again, am just blown away that someone took care of his education. I have stuff to do, so I'm going to be heading out soon, but keep posting, guys! Again, good that people are talking about this and am happy to see more traffic here.
