Nothing like mash for a hang-over - could do with some of that right now - maybe even a mashed potato sandwich.IP: Logged |

Do you have an opinion of the Coromandel? It seems like a place that I would enjoy traveling to and experiencing.IP: Logged |

Mmmmm....potatoes. There's a part in my play (more precisely: the play I'm in) in which a short variety show happens. One of those acts is all about a giant baked potato. Our 11 yr old acting boy wonder recites a poem declaring his love for the baked potato.IP: Logged |

Gypsee, potatoes are great for hangovers because they have a high absorption rate. My bartender friend swears by eating a bag of potato chips before a night of drinking as a hangover preventive. Also, drinking mineral water before and after can help because it will rehydrate and replace the minerals used by the kidneys. Hmm... Koi's thread is quite informative. Fish are love! Potatoes help hangovers! lol IP: Logged |

Fish and potatoes! You guys are making me HUNGRY!Musette; I am a bartender. I used to collect hangover cures, that's why I asked because I'de never heard anyone mention potatoes before. Alot of people believe in eating something greasy after you drink, but before you go to bed. This has GOT to be why Taco Bell is popular, lol. ewww. And the water thing is a good one too. Alot of drinkers I know, will drink one glass of water per every drink that they consume. Most of discomfort you feel from a hangover is due to dehydration.. BUT, in my 20 plus years behind the bar, I still say the best cure, is hair of the dog. One reason why Bloody Mary's or simply a half a glass of beer with tomato juice in it, is one of my best morning sellers!! IP: Logged |

A relative tried this theory. Only, with shooters. So, this particular night, for every shot of whatever (and it changed with every drink) she decided to have a glass of water in between each shot. Not being a drinker perpetually makes me designated driver. It took us 4 hours to make a normally 40 minute trip home for all the times I had to pull over for her to vomit, including one incident where she tried to pick a fight with a guy (who was actually trying to help her). I'm not so sure about this theory. IP: Logged |
