I was never a fan of this man until recently, I never fell for the "'cos you're amazing just the way you are" line like alot of women I know did.

HOWEVER, following two recent songs of his, "Grenade" and most significantly "It will rain" I saw another side to this seemingly
all smarm and charm. He has written what I personally think to be two of the most beautiful and poignant lines I have heard (and I consider myself an all rounder with music, I am not a music snob and I'll listen to anything that sounds good)

"I'll pick up these broken pieces until I'm bleeding if that will make it right"

and;

"If you ever leave me baby, leave some morphine at my door"

I had a look at his chart and saw that he is a Libran sun (naturally-look at his eyes), Leo moon and you guessed it, Pisces Rising. He has his sun plus two other planets (I forget which) in House 8. I think he almost perfectly personifies the pleasure/pain of the light hearted charmer with the hidden 8th house "angst".

What do you think? Do you see what I see? or do you just see an over-eager womaniser?

------------------
"This Pisces won't run when things get tough nor will they sit there and do nothing. Leo rising is the Fire that is lit in Pisces, getting this Water sign boiling"

i felt the same way about him until last year. the "just the way you are line" got on my last nerve. and i just couldn't stand him.. until i heard "it will rain".. ooooh man i love that song lol. his "talking to the moon" is soo adorable.and then his version of the "valerie" song, he sang in tribute to amy whinehouse . i even like his version more than amy's. and amy is one of my top fav singers ever.. i am not shocked at all that hes a pisces rising. i thought he was a pisces before learning he was a libra sun. to me he looks very pisces. i can feel the pisces/neptune tone in his songs. even more than than his libra sun. . that dreamy "lost and looking for true love" look in his eyes, makes my heart melt a bit lol. and his pompadour-esque hair makes him look soo suave. his songs are adorable, hes just soo tender and simply adorable to me. i have a soft spot for him

*laughs* you mean you haven't heard "The way you are" ?? That song was everywhere, trust me!

What I was suggesting with this post is just how much I found him irritating to begin with, a bit smarmy perhaps. Yet as time has gone on he is just getting better and better and his lyrics are becoming more painful and passionate as opposed to sweet and charming. To me he embodies everything I would expect a Libran man with Pisces Rising to be, even his looks. I saw him on a chat show here in the UK, the host is known for being very sharp and very funny but mars more than held his own - he is just an all round nice guy. (With a whole lotta 8th house thrown in).

I found it interesting how his music almost echos his chart, initially light, pleasant and entertaining (just as he appears at first glance) becoming deeper and more passionate with time.

This is the man who wrote "F**k you" for CeeLo Green haha!

Absolutely, I feel the same way. To me he doesnt inspire raw sexual attraction but you get the impression this is man who is very in touch with (and very effective with) his feminine side. Very good at expressing his (probably deep felt) emotions.

I have noticed alot of Librans have big, wide set eyes. i dont know of this is true for you doommlord, but I know of so many with the same "look". And then you have the Pisces Ascendant.....!

It's hard to say he's a womanizer for me, because he is very charming. At first I didn't like him the song that got me to like his music was "Grenade" plus he has those fishy eyes that kind of lure you in.

i actually never heard that song

and yes he is very cute

unfortunal if you want the charm from youl need to dig deep with my 1st house saturn XD

my comparison skill is fairly weak when it comes to comparing eyes
so il let you decide (the second was taken at a very low quality)

I found just the way you are very annoying and didnt really pay much attention.

Then one day I heard grenade and I was stunned. When I went to search it I realized it was by him. That kind of emotion, someone actually dared to put into a mainstream song. I loved it. The lyrics..so 8th house.

It just took that one song for me to change my vedict on him.

The fact that he's not afraid to show such intense emotion is enough for me to have some respect for him.

lol whether hes a man- ***** or not, i could care less, im not dating him.

doommlord,

Those are some blue eyes you have there! from what i can see they do look very Piscean/neptunian as do Bruno Mars regardless of the obvious differences (eye colour for one) you both have those huge eyes and I imagine they're pretty expressive too..?

Just to clarify, please dont think I'm calling him a womaniser/man-***** etc!! I actually borrowed that phrase from a friend who doesn't like him at all. I've also heard and read critisism of him along those same lines It's certainly not my opinion of him.

I don't see an over-eager womaniser but I am not impressed either. I like the music to the grenade song but the lines are cheesy imo
He's never captured my interest for some reason. You could say I'm just not that into him *shrug*

Couldn't agree more.

For some reason,Librans come across to me as too "normal", "guy next door" and dowright "too smooth"; nothing soulful/intricate about them. I have a Mars in Libra so I can spot them very easily and there is usually this "thing" that happens between them and I.Yummy ofcourse, but not much more beyond that.

I'm actually not suprised that he is a Libra, he kinda reminded me of "I am so cute I don't even have to try that hard" Mario Lopez who is also a Libra Sun/Pisces Ascendant.

For all reasons stated above, I found him quite irritating and just despite the whole craze with his songs.

Wasn't he rumoured to be nursing a cocaine habit at some point? ...maybe I'm just a cynical Sagittarius, but I'd find that part of him more interesting than his public image. It would show more of his demons and authentic self than the cotton candy farce that he is feeding the world.

I wonder where his moon is at? If its in Cancer(and God I hope not), it'll just complete the "cheesiness".

It's always weird to me when people automatically associate abnormality with authenticity. So if someone isn't damaged or being nasty then by default they aren't real? *raises eyebrow*

It reminds me of the emo-kids who think they're deeper than everyone else because they slit their wrists and talk about pain and wear black all the time.

I think this is a run-off/side effect from Saturn being in Scorpio right now - causing a collective confusion about what qualifies as "real" or not, and anything that isn't dark (Scorpio) is automatically deemed dull and/or fake, because of the Saturn ("restriction, difficulty, strife") connection.

Are his lyrics the most groundbreaking ever? No, but I did just check them out a second ago, and they do seem to be written from a genuine place, and seem to stop pretty short of being Hallmark schmaltz. In fact, I've heard worse :

"What have I become
My sweetest friend
Everyone I know, goes away in the end"

If you wanna see REAL cornball lyrics, check out Nine Inch Nails. Reznor is a genius from a instrumental standpoint but lyrically? He could give any cheeseball out there a run for their money, and he has nothing in Libra...or Cancer.

Having said that, I do know that art is ultimately subjective, so...

In terms of a strictly astrological discussion of Bruno's chart as it relates to his music - count me in the group that pins the lyrical excerpt in the OP and "Grenade", on his Libra in the eighth house placements. It's not Pisces doing it imo - Pisces would be more ethereal and "spacier", if I'm making any sense here.

The fact that Bruno's lyrics scream "relationship anguish" - that's about as Libra/8th house combo, as you can get. For me, I think the problem here is that people go and attribute those things to other elements of his chart because in general, Libra is a *very* misunderstood, stereotyped sign.

People misinterpret our innate, deep desire and need for peace as cowardly, or completely twist and minimize it as us being obsessed with "manners" or something; people misinterpret our genuine desire to give and receive love and make other people feel good, as "smooth talking" or vapid flattery, etc.

It's a sign that's a great deal more profound than a lot of people give it credit for being, because most people just don't understand Libran energy - but to give you an idea - Charubel, an astrologer from centuries ago, referred to Libra as being the sign that is the most "not of this Earth", and referred to it as Messianic in nature (check out the Charubel Degrees), which should let you know that it isn't half as empty as the common consensus seems to think.

By the way - I'm not saying this because I'm some Bruno Mars stan - in fact, I barely know who the guy is, because I pretty much avoid modern radio, I don't watch video channels, and furthermore, I'm getting old - I'm 31 so most of the current trends I know little to nothing about. I'm going strictly off of what I read here, and the lyrics I Googled a few minutes ago. I don't have a horse in this race.

I stand corrected.

Perhaps I am being presumptious. Lord knows that the Sagittarian stereotype has been pinned on me several times.

But as I said, this is based on personal experience and to each one , his own. No one sign is fully recognized objectively by everyone as some are said to be "sexier" than others etc.

But, yes, thanks for shedding some light on the Libran issue. And very well spoken too
