Hello everyone!

Being a huge 12th house person (Sun, Mercury, Venus in the 12th) compels me to talk about the issues of the 12th house and the planet Venus in the 12th house

It is hard for me to talk about and describe 12th house related things although (12th Mercury). So I will try my best to lend you all my vision of the 12th house the best way possible without confusing you by getting straight to point.

The 12th house is all about the subconscious, parallel lives, the dissolution of the ego's identity in effort to successfully merge with the divine, your sanctuary (rather inner or outer), the things you don't tell your friends and family and keep to yourself, secrets, divinatory intelligence, clairistence, when you're sitting in your room by yourself and you're "wandering inside yourself", who you were before you incarnated on the earth plane since the 12th house comes before the 1st house, the bulk of karmic lessons which will liberate you whichever planet is placed in this house

All of these things are strongly emphasized when one of your planets are in this house. The planet(s) involved become the theme of the 12th house.

When I see a planet in the 12th house I immediately recognize that this individual has arrived here for some higher divine purpose from their soul depending on which planet is placed there.

Chances are that if you have a 12th house in your birth chart there will be a story behind it with other aspects and plantery placements and rulerships. Studying the degree of the sign the planet is in and it's symbology will also assist in identifying what the soul has come here to accomplish

Now that we've talked about the 12th house let's talk about Venus

Venus is your aesthetics, the significator of your wife for males, your anima, the things you find most pleasing about yourself and others, the way you "give" love and receive love in return

When Venus goes into the 12th house it represents the dissolution of all the things Venus represents for the chart holder to attain moshka (final liberation) from it. It is the place where Venus goes to die in a sense. The 12th house in this way makes any planet with it have a heavily esoteric, heavenly Piscean theme surrounding the planet as an outcome of achieving enlightenment since 12th is ruled by Jupiter.

It is where Venus returns to God, as symbolized by Pisces
"I leave my fathers house and turning back I save" (Alice Bailey, Mercury in 12th house)

Venus here technically becomes exalted but traditionally viewed by others as bad or negative.

In some ways yes, it is bad, but in other less popular ways, Venus in this placement shows where the spirit will find the truest and inner most celestial light of Venus. Sun and Venus are considered "sister planets" because Venus carries a considerable proportion of size and heat the Sun has. It is an effulgent white.

The negative and more mundane implications of Venus in the 12th for the unenlightened persons are severe bondage to pleasure, luxury, traveling to a exotic foreign country to escape mundane routine, spas, overspending on luxury, falling in love with the wrong people, misplaced affection, bed pleasures, idolizing false things other than all-that-is

These are all the things Venus in the 12th house does to try and re-establish the severed connection to their divine nature. The person goes on unrealized until they become liberated from it all. 12th house matters also become emphasized depending on planetary rulership as well. It contributes to the dissolution of the fleshly body. The 12th house absorbs the physical vitality of the person and transmits it back into the astral realm. In this way the person typically becomes exhausted or worn out from 12th house activities since they're always "astral traveling"

Mercury, Venus, mars in 12th.

It took time but I feel liberated! I became accepting of who I am, my differences, and my self-esteem developed. My ego grew.
It can be a difficult place. But I think only because we try to fight against it and/or don't understand it. Once we accept it. Oh, it's heavenly.

Yes, I agree

It's a shame how much a bad rep 8 and 12th house get being the only two most powerful and spiritually supportive houses for achieving enlightenment and oneness with oneself and others

Most people don't study their 8th or 12th rulership because it is less norm due to the stereotype out there while these things have a very startling implications on the psyche

If you're female this should be good news since Venus is the significator for spouse and 12th house indicates foreign spouse.

Mars also indicates girlfriend/boyfriend.

This would obviously be modified based on other placements in your chart

Really interesting thread Underworldglory, although I havent anything in 12th house to share, only SN lol!
But I agree that the 12th house is underestimated and not being researched/studied enough. It's still a mystery to me, too, thus your thread was helpful!

ETA : I am under a Neptune opp. my Moon transit (and tr. Pluto around my SN for the past 2-3 years) though, so I am interested in 12th house flavors of all kinds!

Sun, mercury, venus, neptune, uranus in the 12th house.

Idk, probably because my venus conjunct my asc and chart ruler (1st house saturn), I naturally exude my venus's qualities. In the areas that venus governs, there hasn't been any struggle worth noting. Heh my venus loves it here, give me more of that nebulous, hazy, gossamer feelings.

I didn't learn about "love" from my parents, but from books, friends and observing other people. I used to wonder if that had any significant meaning. But well at the end of the day, I learned to love and be loved, so it doesn't matter where I learned that from.

Often I read about how terrible it is to have a bunch of 12th house planets. Heh, not gonna lie, when I first learned of western astrology, that freaked me out just a little lol. But yeah, in reality (well for me anyway, can't speak about other people's experiences), it's nothing bad. It has its perks and its downside. I'm ok with the downside, and I can't get enough of the perks.

No, not at all! My parents didnt raise us as part of the church I mean, we went only at important traditions. I believe in God though, but not strictly inside the concept of my official religion.

I am really interested about what my South Node in the 12th means, as I have come to realize that for Nodes, the houses are more important than the signs.
That's why I entered your thread in the first place -to learn more about 12th house in general- to be honest!

I wish I did, but I don't. I just kinda look "out of it" lol. Forlorn and lost, unaware of my surroundings.

Another thing I've seen mentioned in threads that discuss 12th house influence. People said that they have very vivid dreams. It's true for me as well. It's like living in another world. While it can be quite nice, sometimes it gives a feeling of having no rest. And it takes a toll on the physical body.

Ah, another thing, it's said that people with such influence may work in isolated places, such as prison, asylum..etc... I did and while I can't say that I *liked* it, it certainly gave me feelings that I still can't quite describe. I suppose in a way, I felt rather *addicted* to the feeling of being cut off from society, being surrounded by unusual energy from people who weren't considered "normal".

I don't work in that environment anymore, but yeah, sometimes I think about it with longing/

Oh my chiron is in the 7th house.

Here's a vid of an astrologer talking about chiron through the houses. I came across his videos while searching for videos interpreting 12th house planets. I think his vids are quite good. Hope it is of some use to you.

The South Node in 12th house is about detachment from spirituality or being "cut off" from the world of sanctuary

North Node in 6th house moves away from spirituality and obliges in service.

And what about serving in the everyday life (routine) through spirituality? Is that good for both nodes or is it cheating? lol
Thank you for your answer!

I have Virgo Mars in 12H conjunct Asc. My husband has Pisces Venus 12H conjunct Asc. In many ways we are the same but very different.
I am a warrior and he is, or can be, an escapist and often choose to eject himself from anything that is remotely bohersome to him and that includes friends, family and loved ones. I will face what's bothersome and try to demolish it from earth.
We are both religious, love traveling and enjoy money.
I also have a 4 planet Virgo Stellium 12H conj Asc in my progressed chart.
