I'm currently doing observation hours (at my old high school) for one of my education classes and spoke to a few of my old teachers and I got all excited talking about classes seeing what i could teach, when, and how. I know i would be a good teacher.
But...
It's not my passion. Acting is. I had a break from acting and realized that i need this in my life because it doesn't feel complete without it. So I declared Theatre as a major.

I'm so torn between the two. I know I can do both. I know that both are hard. And i know that i need a little of both in my life to really feel fulfilled. But they both need a lot of time and energy. When you become a teacher your creative life and everything else you had goes out the window. When you become a serious actress you spend long hours rehearsing and going to auditions and such.

I feel such a strong pull to both any ideas on which would be better for me? Which planets/astroids do you need to see?

What sign is your Moon in?

What sign is your MC on?

Where is the planet that rules your MC?

Is your MC Libra? Taurus? Neptune? Leo?

Does Venus or Neptune aspect your MC at all?

Even without looking at your chart, I can tell as a musician who has done some professional work but would like to do more, if you go for the safe stuff at a young age, you get addicted to safety, security and having enough money to be comfortable.

If you make a FULL COMMITTMENT to your art form, you have no choice but to be successful. When you are acting successfully, I doubt you'll be backstage in some theatre pining away for a class room to teach in. When you go up to the stage to pick up your Oscar, I doubt that you will be crying about not having become a professor. Once you become successful at your art, you will always have the opportunity to stop and teach whenever you feel like it. Many very professional actors teach on the side to pay the bills. That's the reality of being in the entertainment industry. Each one teach one.

But always remember, it is a business.

A BUSINESS

It can be a big giant boring Saturn business and it MUST be in order to remain on top or even just to keep your career going. It's not all make up and tap shoes, character shoes, leotards and costumes.

Half of it is the mundane Saturn, Saturn, Saturn business. But you'll be so satisfied when you have your successful times. Life is short, take a risk.

virgo moon in the 6th house.
MC in sag.
Jupiter in gemini in the 2 house.
Neptune Rx wide conjunct MC at 9 degrees...moving closer to MC
Venus 1 degree opposition to Neptune, and 8 degree opposition to MC.
Neptune is also my chart ruler cuz I'm a pisces Asc.

I decided teaching would be my safety thing to fall back on. but i keep getting torn between the two.

I agree with GeoCosmic, Leaping.
And my Jupiter T-Square says go for both - you can be an acting teacher

But seriously, go for what you're passionate about. I know your Virgo moon would be good at teaching too, but your Mars in Aries needs to be challenged and if things get dull, you get bored.
I forget about your chart - your MC, your MC ruler, what house? I remember you have something with Neptune and Mars...I think you should stick to what you love because along the way you can mentor others about it eventually too!

MC ruler 2nd house? Forget it, you'll make money doing what you love, esp with the aspects to Neptune !

really? even if its in its detriment in Gem?
I actually wouldn't want to be an acting teacher...I'd prob get all jealous watching the kids be successful..lol i guess that's my answer there..
My aries mars craves that physical activity and my leo sun likes to order people around lol.
grrr it's hard having 2 majors and unsupportive parents that think i'll fail.

Acting teacher - I was kind of kidding. I mean mentoring later on in life, once you've had some success of your own. Jupiter makes an aspect with Neptune, ok, but it's also ruler of your MC, and it gets a conj from Neptune which helps with acting, I would think.

I have Merc./Gemini ruling my 2nd house too - I think it's the ability to have a few jobs at once, but it's also easy to spread yourself thin.

Never mind the detriment stuff, try to not pay too much attention to it. Actually with Jupiter in Gemini, you get caught up in the details and sometimes let them distract you. THAT is the detriment. LOL

leapinglemur,

I completely understand where you're coming from... I am in a very similar position. Acting is everything to me. But everyone has been telling me as far back as I can remember that I need a back up plan... that it might not work... I'm a pisces moon and I have a very strong and keen intuition... and I just know that it's what I'm supposed to do... I can't logically or rationally explain it but I can feel it... and I've never felt that way about anything... I just can't live a fulfilled life without it... go for your passion... it's what makes life worth living... you were given your acting talent for a reason...

im not sure how much talent i have..we'll see as i start to actually go to auditions.

you should always have a back up plan.

yes the details i know about the details. they drive me nuts I say we ban them from existence!!!! (all virgos simultaneously start hyper-ventilating)
