I noticed your comments on nuerodiversity and I was thinking ADD/ADHD falls in this category correct? Also from RunAroundScreaming's thread you I remember something about the speed of Mercury. Do you think that a fast Mercury could contribute to ADD/ADHD? Or maybe contribute similarities as far as attention span goes?

I think of ADHD as about novelty seeking with strong connection to creativity and innovation. There tends to be a dislike for the routine. There can be issues with short term memory. They tend to be disorganized.
The attention issues are more about attention inconsistency and not attention deficit. ADHDers actually tend to pay attention to everything. They are known to be easily distracted. They tend to hyperfocus on things of interest.

They are also thought to lack a filter when it comes to processing information. It could be from being highly responsive to stimuli. They are thought to be ultrasensitive types. Autistic Spectrum and ADHD are thought to be the highest contributors of sensory integration/processing issues. Some say that some people with ADHD could actually just have sensory intergration/processing disorder.
Also ADHD has high overlap with Dyslexia and Dyspraxia. Those 3 neurodivergent conditions have considerable overlap with each other.

Many people with ADHD fit with dual exceptional or twice exceptional which means gifted and disabled. That is also true with people with Dyslexia,ADHD,Dyspraxia,Autistic Specturm, and other related neurodivergent conditions.

Gifted people can be misdiagnosed as having ADHD because the traits of giftedness and ADHD overlap.

A fast Mercury would be an indicator of quickly processing information. I don't think that it would be an indicator for ADHD.

It's very complex

There is a big difference between genetic ADHD and acquired ADHD.

There are many causes for ADHD symptoms/traits like heavy metal poisoning, toxins, fetal alcohol syndrome, hypoglycemia, vitamin/mineral deficiences, and other things.

ADHD also has significant overlap with Bipolar too.

Therefore the astrological indicators could vary.

I actually believe that there is both a strong outer planet and transneptunian influence in the charts of people that have traits that fit with ADHD and other neurodivergent conditions.

Well I was thinking that a quick Mercury, allowing for quick processing, could contribute these ADD/ADHD like factors. Possibly leading teachers and doctors to misdiagnose a child (as they often do) and not understanding that this child is just intelligent and understands things at double the rate of his peers.

well.....that would be the intellectually gifted then

ADHD is a lot more complicated......especially if there is another neurodivergent condition that co-exists with it like I have Dyslexia,Dyspraxia, and ADHD. I was treated for the Dyslexia and Dyspraxia with special education therapies. I was never treated for ADHD which I was diagnosed as having in adulthood.

Dyspraxia and Dyslexia can easily be misdiagnosed as ADHD too.

Aspergers too for that matter. A lot of Aspergers have been misdiagnosed as ADHD, but it can co-exist.

Actually co-existing is the norm and not the exception in regards to neurodivergent conditions.

That was the main factor of Mary Colley, who had Dyslexia,Dyspraxia, and ADHD, founded Developmental Adult Neuro-Diversity Association (DANDA).

it really depends if the ADHD is genetic or not

as well as what else co-exists with the ADHD

I actually believe that genetic neurodivergence fits more with the Indigo,Crystal, lightworker, starseed,Earth Angel types of people as well as dual/twice exceptional

That's what DNA was created for.

It promotes that a different mind is not a deficient mind but has strengths and not just weaknesses.

I don't believe that ADHD is a disorder that needs to be medicated.

Ever since reading Thom Hartmann's books on ADHD , I just think of ADHD as an alternative way of being, thinking, and learning that doesn't fit the norm.

With the strong emphasis on auditory sequential learning, mainstream classrooms don't fit with ADHDers and many other neurodivergents.

My cousin and I have mercury conjunct uranus, he was diagnosed with adhd, but he was more just not the type that could sit
. It's in opposition to jupiter.

My mercury is conjunct uranus too but unaspected by jupiter

my brother has mercury retrograde in the 3rd opposite his moon, square jupiter, and square a bunch of other planets, my brother has very many squares, and he's had serious hand injuries - where he's almost lost his hands, for each, both left and right..
he's also prescribed to meds

not sure...i'll upload his chart, it's insane! riddled with squares and oppositions.

not sure...just throwing some aspects in there for awareness.
