I had a thread on this. but putting the thread again. Sun Opp Moon aspect or even just opposite Sun and Moon signs worries me.

I see this aspect in so many marriages. Unfortunetly, unhappy marriages, relationsihps and divorces follow.

Is it a good aspect? I understand that the whole synnastry matters etc. But any observation on this aspect only?

in my experience Sun/Moon opposition adds up to the attraction, I dont see it as a negative aspect ... Sun/Moon square is a different story though

yes Peri .. it is in fact an aspect I see in so many relationships. So, definitely it is supposed to be a good aspecit.

But then,

in comparison with Sun Opp. Sun aspect.. is it equal better or worse?

Lara. Moon Opp Moon .. sounds lovely, but i worry It is really the Yin Yang energies!

I cannot say for sure but I think Sun/Moon opp is easier to deal with than Sun/Sun opp

Just read this on Skyviewzone....

Sun opposition Moon:

What does it mean in a relationship when your natal Sun is in opposition to your romantic partner’s Moon? A Sun opposition Moon aspect necessitates a reworking of your relationship expectations. Differences in background, thinking, temperament, and approach to relationships attract you together and then repulse you in what can become a repeating cycle. If your partner’s Sun is in opposition to your Moon, you will have a frustrating time trying to get your emotional needs met.

THAT is very true VIG. It is exactly what happens when my aries moon is opposing their libra moon. My emotional needs just don't get met!

( i know mine is moon/moon and not sun/moon but still applies i think)

Isn't Sun Opp. Moon the full moon aspect. Or the 7th house aspect. There's a full moon whenever the Sun opposes the Moon.

If anything this aspect should tell of having all your needs met. Or speak of an emotionally charged relationship. The Sun sees his reflection, and the secretive Moon is lit up to all to see.

I would think it would work better if it is the man's Sun oppose the woman's Moon rather than vice versa. I seem to like oppositions; I get along with and am attracted to men who have early Aries' Suns that oppose my Sun. Can be kind of an 'edge' there though, like verbal banter, but I like that. But then again, I'm almost never attracted to Sagittarius men who's Suns are opposed to my Moon.

I've heard Moon oppose Moon can be good too but I haven't experienced it so I don't know.

I've never experienced Sun-Moon opposition but I'm going to guess that if the Sun-Moon opposition is close it would signify an important relationship and probably attraction, especially if the Sun is the man.

it is very interesting to read the responses here and I am thinking now that it's all very individual, I mean I am ok with Sun/Moon, Moon/Moon oppositions and Sun/Sun opposition does not bother me either (I think I stopped paying attention to people's Sun signs) but I noticed it's a big turn off for me if a guy has his Venus opp my Sun (even if it's not a romantic interest)but I am friends with someone who has his Sun opp my Venus/Mars, lots of men that were attracted to me had thier Mars in Aries close to or conj my Mars/Venus but for some weird reason I did not find them attractive, I also dont like someone's Moon square my Moon even if their Moon at the same time trine my Sun, ASC and MC! ... so obviously we prefer one type of challenging aspects to another, I wonder why and how it can be seen (if it's possible at all) in the chart?
