i have been looking on the web for some info on parellel/contra-parallel aspects but have only found stuff on 'celestial equators' and 'declinations', i am still none the wiser!

would somebody be kind enough to show me how to identiify of even provide an example of one of these aspects?

they are declination aspects

declination is celestial equatorial latitude

declination and right ascension (celestial equatorial longitude) are used by astronomers to locate celestial objects

astrologers mainly use celestial ecliptical longitude

parallel is when 2 objects are on the same side of the celestial equator, and there is a separation of 1 degree orb...could be more or less

contraparallel is when 2 objects are on opposite sides of the celestial equator,and there is a separation of 1 degre orb...could be more or less

I have Sun contraparallel Pluto, and so that's like Sun oppose Pluto. That indicates ego,self expression,vitality are at odds with intensity,transformation,power.

I have Mercury parallel Venus,and so that's like Mercury conjunct Venus. That indicates my thought processes are aesthetic, based on harmony,relationships.

I have Mercury contraparallel Saturn, and so that's like Mercury oppose Saturn. That indicates that my thought processes are at odds with realism,practicality,structure

I have Mercury parallel Neptune,and so that's like Mercury conjunct Neptune. That indicates my thought processes are receptive,imaginative,idealistic

I have Venus contraparallel Saturn,and so that's like Venus oppose Saturn. That indicates my love nature,affections,values are at odds with realism,practicality,structure

I have Venus parallel Neptune, and so that's like Venus conjunct Neptune. That indicates my love nature is receptive,imaginative,idealistic

I have Saturn contraparallel Neptune, and so that's like Saturn oppose Neptune. That indicates that realism,practicality,structure at at odds with receptivity,imagination,idealism.

Solar Eclipses occur when Sun and Moon are in both conjunction and parallel.

Lunar Eclipses occur when Sun and Moon are in both opposition and contraparallel.

Planets that are conjunct and parallel or opposition and contraparallel are occultations.

example:
I have Mercury and Venus in both conjunction and parallel. Therefore, I have Mercury-Venus occultation.

I have Saturn and Neptune in both opposition and contraparallel. Therefore, I have Saturn-Neptune occultation.

you're better off checking astro.com to find out coordinates other than ecliptic longitude
