I just had an idea and I'm wondering what others might think of it.

Say a person has the cusp of a house in one sign, but the majority of the house is in another sign. Now say another person's planet falls into that house, but in the sign that is not the ruler of that house. Could this cause the house person to "see" that person's planet as their house ruler sign instead of it's natural sign?

My Venus is in Virgo, and it fell in the 4th house of my ex which is ruled by Leo. He wanted me to be "glamorous" all the time when all I wanted to do was hang out in the background and be helpful. He tried to turn me into a showy kind of woman although I had no intention of being that. A big example is when we threw a dinner party at his house, and he wanted me to go all out and be a sparkling hostess even though I was very uncomfortable with that role. That would have been a good role for a Leo Venus in the 4th house, though!

Has anyone else noticed a distorted view when the house ruler and the planet in that house are different in synastry?

It could even apply to the natal, really. What do you think?

i asked about his moon venus because in relating people will often project their energy onto others to have them play out their inner dialogue and i'm wondering what in his chart could point to that since that's what it seems to be as it seems you're so not markedly like that, that if he had any sense he wouldn't try to get you to behave otherwise as you probably communicate this tone on different levels. if he has sun conj venus that could also account for it, those men seem to love women that make them "look good"
