One of my friends has been dealing with this for a long time. She believes that she is adopted but hasn't got the courage to ask her parents about it. I cast the horary.

I see that the ascendant is at 29Leo. What does this mean? That it is too late to be asking these questions? What does "that" mean?

It means the answer is already known.
If it was a very early degree, then it would be too soon to tell.
Why the fear of asking the parents? is it because it would disrupt the good will and harmony in the family.

Wrecking the family, I suppose.

Lonake, the thing is that she does know she is adopted or thinks she is, but she has no actual evidence for it. It's just a hunch that's why she asked me to cast the chart. Is there a way to tell if her hunch is correct or not?

I'm in the medical field, she once asked me if I could arrange a DNA test, and I told her it would cost a bomb.

Well the chart says she already knows the answer.
I find curious the Sun opposing jupiter in h8, from h2, then h4, ic scorpio, ruler pluto in h5, in that t-square.
Does she have any Moon/Pluto factors in her chart, I wonder? Liz Greene says these point to adoption, not always, but the theme is very much Moon/Pluto..Moon/Saturn, too.
Does she have money to inherit from her current family?

Yes and Yes.
Conjunct Pluto and IC and semisquare Saturn.

So she has a burning desire to know her roots, right, with that combo...Is she afraid her mother will overreact with the mention of the adoption? Is it possible she could ask her father instead?

What if she told her parents - that an anonymous person rang her and asked if she wanted a meeting with her real parents.

She could say that she found the call disconcerting. She thinks this must've been some sort of prank, but can't imagine one of her friends calling up and saying this.
So she would like to know if her parents know anything about this and why she'd receive such a call.

Would that be good?

Maybe it would avoid them reacting angrily.
And because of the *surprise/shock* factor - even if her parents tried to lie about it, she could probably see through that.

Re: about the fixed star conjunctions

The Greater Benefic and The Greater Malefic
The MC or the public persona would shatter or diminish while the ASC or the self would grow and increase.

Just a thought.

For Lonake,

I think I'm being the Devil's Advocate here without any of the answers to be of help. I guess I'm saying that I'm here to be a pain in the butt so please forgive me.

There are no aspects to the Moon so wouldn't that mean the chart is invalid? Yes, I believe strong clues can be given even though the Moon has no aspects, but nothing definitive. Also, if this chart isn't Regiomontanus House system, the chart can change drastically when casting it with Regiomontanus Houses and give a different answer.

Although, I don't think the Ascendant or MC will change with Regiomontanus.

OK, feel free to explain and I know I'm just making trouble, but still learning.

It might help, it should be Regiomontanus Houses. You definitely can get Regiomontanus Houses on Astro.com. But I don't think it's going to change the fact that the Moon isn't making any connections.

Now, interestingly enough, I'm not using Horary for this but the Moon traditionally rules Mothers and children and since it makes no connections at all, I'm just doing some seat of the pants symbol translation, perhaps that means there's no connection between mother and child. But, don't go by me, there are others here who are better at Horary than I am. I won't be reading it, just so you know. I'm just being the troublesome peanut gallery. I'm sure someone will come along and look at the new chart that you post.

edit: I wish we had a 'Like' button here or better still a 'Love' button for the peanut post

In these cases, a simple face analysis of her childhood snaps with parent's childhood snaps will do the trick.
My kids and I look like clones separated by 30 odd years, when comparing my childhood snaps.

If psychological tricks to safely extract the answer is needed, then the person can ask her mom how her delivery was, whether she went through too much pain etc, or how dad helped her get through etc. Hesitation to describe will confirm. Genuine Moms will wax eloquent about this process.

Good idea, iQ
My biological family and I look like twins, even my cousin's daughter and I look the same.

Adoptive family on the other hand, they have these huge eyebrows outta nowhere, and are overweight, etc..we look nothing alike.

And pay attention to if your voice is a very different pitch from the rest of 'em! My adoptive family, they have very smooth calm voices, my biological family they sound like me, with a very sing-song fast-talking beat, much more excitable.

I believe it's called inflection...pretty chirpy and sing-song too: sounds like a hyperactive bird!
