Please just some basic info on how to do Transits. I want to learn to do this for myself.

1. Transits = what is going on now?

2. The symbols outside the rim of the chart representing the planet and the placement the house it is happening in?

3. Progressions = future activity?

4. Do I run a chart on natal transits or natal transits and progressions?

Thanks so much for any help.

Lemme see.. about transits, others are better at explaining specifics but I'll try until they get here..

-OK, take your natal and inspect v.closely. Let's say you want to know about transiting Saturn.
-Look at the Saturn in your natal chart, its house, sign, aspects, and also the house that it rules (the ones with Capricorn on the cusp). You need to get to know what your personal Saturn is all about.
-Now look at the chart that has natal + transits, this will show your natal with the green transits outside.
-So you're still curious about Saturn, first look at what house t.Saturn is placed in your natal, note it and now's the time to put on your thinking cap!
-Now, Saturn can really only give you what you have natally (imo), he will bring it back to you but in a new area of life (house) this time.

Here's a loose example that turned out to be longer than I intended, but o well,

Is your natal Saturn all about being desperate to be seen but afraid that you're not worthy of all that attention? (Saturn in Leo), is it conj Venus (impacting relationships) in the natal 7th? Do you have Capricorn on the cusp of the 12th? Now you know that you have unconscious fears of being really seen and admired, but it's something you're drawn to, you want the attention but you want it to be real from someone you respect highly and you want adequate praise for you efforts.
So this is your Personal Saturn.

Now, is transiting Saturn in your 1st in Aquarius? You are *really* going to be experiencing the effects of your natal Saturn right smack dab all around (1st house) and will face major new responsibilities to get stronger, this can be rough.

Now what kind of aspect is transiting Saturn making to your natal? Is it opposed your Leo mercury in the 7th? You may want to shine but feel like you're unable to even get a word out, why is it that you find it hard to communicate what you want so badly, and why does it seem like so many other people are trying to discourage you right now, or why are you feeling so sensitive engaging in negative self-talk? (t. Saturn opp Merc, 7th)

etc. on and on. Hope I haven't confused you... t.Neptune is getting closer to my Sun

Thanks a bunch!

I am interested in my natal venus in Pisces/4th house.

My natal transits show the venus sign in 11th house with sun and saturn.

The two things I am looking for in my chart is my progress for a job change and Love partner.

Do you have any further info?

Anyone, please it is so appreciated!

Thanks very much!!!!

I highly recommend 'The Eagle and The Lark' by Bernadette Brady, a very good book on transits, you can look through it here:

I looked through this book and it looks very interesting.

It would be so great if I could do my own astrology readings for myself. I have been studying astrology for about 30 years, but never learned transits and progressions.

Thanks so much!
