I don't want anything super creative or a major piece of artwork or anything like that.

All I want is the latin word for equality/justice on the left wrist and the greek word for knowledge on the right.

Nothing complicated, right?

Seeing as its Venus Rx, I'm a bit hesitant but I don't want to wait until freakin December when the shadow period is over.

Opinions?

I think it ends Nov. 17?

I would do it before it goes retro........or wait until after.

Susan Miller says not to do anything at all in regards to changing our appearance while Venus is Rx.

I heard that you should wait, Diablo. Why take a chance?

I know they say you should wait, but that's so annoying. Who can wait three months? Because if you wait, you need to wait until it clears its station.

I wonder if it's ok to get things done if you planned it before a rx. I hear them say that with merc rx, but I don't know anyone who has personally done that.

I need my hair done and I am not waiting until December, sorry.

WTH, its going retro in four days? I wanted to get my hair done next week. I know we shouldn't be superstitious but I have a horror story from the last time I got my hair done during the Venus Retro period.

what happened when you got your hair done? Was it a new stylist or new cut/color?

I have alternative beliefs about retrograde planets.

I don't think that they are necessarily bad.

I believe that as long as they are making an easy aspect to your chart, that can energy can be a positive thing.

For example, I don't see why I have to expect romance, love to be bad for me in late October, early Novemeber with transiting retrograde Venus conjuncting my Sun and trining my Moon.

Of course, if the retrograde planets are making a hard aspect to your chart, it can be a negative thing.

Whether negative or positive, it really depends on what you do.

I think the best way to use retrograde planets is to think carefully before acting.

Ami, I know, she needs to tell us, especially since I have to get my hair done!

I had surgery in 2001 while mars was rx. I didn't follow astrology back then. Mars rules surgeons and surgery! It turned out fine.

Mars was right on my venus, in the 8th. Not only that, the moon was in the sign that rules the part being operated and in fall, and t. venus opposed my mars, and pretty much every other planet was in bad aspect to my planets. I think that for surgery, it can just indicate action of some sort. Hard aspects indicate a major event, so of course they'd be present when you alter your body in surgery.

I am doing whatever I want, rx or not, unless I get a gut feeling about it otherwise. Screw it. There's never a good time, astrologically. You should look for good aspects to whatever planet rules that part you are working on. But I don't even know if I'd go that far, really. I once had my hair done with venus on my AC and it was meh. I actually wasn't happy with it, because it didn't turn out at all like I wanted. I think it was the stylists fault, actually. With venus on AC, it should've, theoretically, been amazing, but it wasn't.

ETA: The one astrology thing I follow about surgery is to avoid 5 days before and after a Full Moon, because it really does affect how your body swells, even without surgery.

I decided to get bangs for the second time in my life at that time (and dye it the color I wanted). The bangs did not come out at all like I expected and the color was not what I expected either (in a very bad way). The color was fixed about a week later, but I ended up pulling back my bangs for weeks afterwards because of how badly they framed my face. They were literally so bad that people thought I was much older than I actually was.

It was in late August 2007 and I forget what sign Venus was actually in.

Hmmm, sounds like my venus ac experience, except I was unhappy with the color, in that, the stylist didn't understand what I meant, because it turned out darker than I wanted. I said blonde highlights and I got hardly any blonde highlights. It wasn't a new stylist either and it continued for months. My hair still isn't the color I want, so I am going back to someone who knows what blonde means that I used to see years ago. I've been trying to have blonde hair since venus was in taurus!

Was yours a new stylist?

I didn't know about Astrology when this happened.
I had my hair cut with a guy who was supposed to be great.
I looked like my Standard Poodle.

I cut my own hair, now. It looks pretty good

It wasn't exactly a *new* stylist, just a regular who doesn't normally do my hair. It wasn't really her fault though, just my bad judgement.. Though she had warned me beforehand that the kind of bang-cut I wanted might make me look older. Whyyyy didn't I listen to her? *SMH*

That's interesting, because they say you shouldn't go to someone new, but can go to the same stylists.

I cut my own hair, which I never do -- it was the only time, back during the last venus rx. I knew I shouldn't do it, bc I knew it was venus rx and I was cutting my own hair! I guess rebellion won out though.

It turned out awesome!

whoa .. when did venus go retro .. i think this might be the culprit of a sudden regression in the progress of a romantic interest.

Yeah, the regular person I go to was booked for the entire afternoon. What an unlucky coincidence.

I get a sense of accomplishment from cutting my own hair .
I have had so many bad professional cuts, I figured I could do just as well and I do .I do a blunt cut

That was unlucky!

Ami, I tried to cut my hair after the venus rx and I totally botched it, well, not horribly, but it was pretty bad. I guess I can only cut my own hair during venus rx, lol.

Oh, I'm already going through the "ugly phase" bit of Venus Rx where my nails snap off and its difficult getting another appt, regrowth come twice as quick, my favourite pair of jeans finally rip at the knee from wear and tear, hair just wont sit the way I want it, already getting a zit here or there...I HATE Venus Rx, esp cos I'm very Venus ruled (Taurus Venus, Libra moon...I cop the uglies hard during Venus Rx)

Diana, our thoughts are the same..what if you were planning it months before the Rx period and thought long and hard about it? I honestly dont want to wait till December cos I've been waiting all year!

Seriously, its a word on each wrist..nothing complicated or artistic. But then again, I sit there and think, ooh but what if they use the wrong lettering or wrong size or position and I hate it in December?

Oh, Venus Rx and hair..don't go there. I had a hairdresser FRY my hair with bleach by painting it all the way to the ends, which were damaged and fried from bleaching anyways (big NO NO in blonde hairdressing), then put me under those hair egg heater things to make the colour process faster..

My hair was frizzled and fried and I had to chop off lots of length for it to grow back healthy.

DON'T do blonde during Venus Rx!!

Same thing always happens to me whenever Venus retros, girl. I've got a spastic Unaspected Venus and a Jupiter in Taurus so go figure.

Oh dear, so you know the frustration. Yesterday I lost my keys and had to spend over $100 to get a new car key..expenses coming out of my butt everywhere.

I hate you, Venus Rx
