There is this Gemini Asc I know and she will yap yap yap yap yap yap and has no consideration that 30 mins have gone by and I have said nothing whatsoever or even asked if I am bored or whatever. I can talk alot but I think of the other person and will make sure they are not asleep! Or bored! UGH! She does this to me every time she calls me, not gonna lie she's talking now LOL it's been 46 mins and all she has done is talk, shes on mute so she can't hear me typing wow. OK that's my rant LOL------------------

If that doesn't work, try asking serious and intrusive questions about their lives...Like, "So, how's College going?" Or, "How have YOU been feeling, lately?" Even better... "Do you think you'll ever settle down and have a lot of kids?" That should work! IP: Logged |

I'm Gem Asc and I'm the opposite.My Taurus Asc / Pisces Sun / Aries Moon sister can talk to the same person on the phone every day and still manage 2 hour conversations.
She talks to anyone and everyone. She has absolutely nothing in Gemini.
Even her house cusps miss it!

Evanski, that's strange. Maybe she has some good mercury aspects in her chart, or some house relationships with one of the more "chatty" signs like Libra, Aquarius, Leo, Sag, and I suppose Aries...The Aries Moon would seem like a social aspect to have. IP: Logged |

Usually I get mad at threads with titles like this, but I'm a Gemini Rising also and right around the age of 25, I found that I could NOT shut up! I can now because I have Saturn conjunct my Mercury and I have learned to quiet myself down, but I go through phases where I chat and chat and chat. Heck, I just got off of a 5 hour phone call 40 minutes ago. I'd ask if you are my friend Lisa, but she's a Virgo Rising and when we get together on the phone, neither one of us can shut up.  Really, the best thing to do is just to tell her that she's talking AT you instead of having a conversation WITH you. It's not polite to talk AT people, it's quite selfish. My Aqua sun Gem rising almost-6 year old stops talking only to watch tv and eat. The rest of the time it's constant chatter. From the moment he opens his eyes in the morning to the moment he falls asleep at night (which isn't early, by the way). But the chattiness is only around people he feels comfortable with, I've noticed. He started kindergarten this past September and the few times I have snuck up to "spy" on him when I pick him up from the after-school program, I've seen him rather quiet and listening to everyone else. Im a Gem Rising (Aqua Sun and Libra Moon too, so I'm airy) and I know when to cool it. Small talk annoys me actually. I do get chatty if the conversation is interesting. Crabbypatty, your son sounds like me. I think my mom was shocked to find out I was so reserved when I started school too lol.My Mercury is retrograde so maybe that has something to do with it. The most talkative person I know (who will talk your ear off and doesn't seem to realize shes doing it) is a Leo Sun. I don't know what her rising is though. But she's infamous amongst my friends for taking a 1 minute conversation and expanding it to 10. IP: Logged |

You have an Aqua Sun, Amwols. That will modify it. I don't talk all the time and I have 3 Gem planets.
Maybe,the Gem ASC is more than other Gem placements.

 gv ...I'm Virgo rising too and of course with a Gemini moon. I can talk for hours with other Gemini mooners or first house mercury but I do get annoyed if they talk too much. At some point I will get bored and make any excuse to get off the phone and It will dawn on me suddenly that I need to get off the phone NOW.  I used to be more attentive to conversations but I can't be bothered as much anymore. I have transit Saturn in first now. IP: Logged |

I have a Gemini friend from the Mainland. The only way for us to talk is on the phone as I live on an Island.
She can talk for an hour straight about anything and everything, as long as it's not emotionally deep. I love her dearly, yes, but am not a fan of having to say goodbye 6 times before we hang up.
I have Gemini moon, and am not a chatty type.
In group and personal settings I prefer to stay quiet and observe people, as well as listen. I actually have to push myself to step forward and speak. (even on forums such as this)
However, urge me onto a spiritual or philosophical topic and I can pick up some speed.

Also, one of my cats is a Gemini and he walks around the house day and night "chatting" to the air. He will meow about 20 times a minute for a few hours straight while pacing, sitting, laying, eating... ------------------

Like everything else depends on what else is in the chart.My Sister is a gem rising and she can be quiet most of the time, given her capircorn sun. But, she can go on when she thinks shes right thought. I figured gemini mercury whould be more of an indication of how "talkative" someone is. I mean I can be talkative if I really know you other wise all be superficial talkative and not say much about me, unless directly asked. ----------------------------------------

LMAO awww your cat sounds hilariously cute PA  I have a friend who is a gemini sun/mercury. Her phone is permanently engaged and when l finally get through l ask her how she is and thats it! She basically then chats ALL day without drawing breath. In fact l sometimes ring my own doorbell just to have an excuse to hang up!

I've found Jupiter in hard aspects with someone's Mercury makes them like to talk a lot. Because it's not exclusively a Gemini thing. I have 2 Gemini sisters who are eerily quiet - while it's my mom, a double Aqua, who doesn't know when to shut up. People who steamroll over others in conversation ...that's just a manners thing. I think even Venus would be a clue along with Mercury since Venus would have to do with social etiquette (or lack thereof lol)My ex husband who was a Gemini moon also was very quiet. I do know a couple of chatty Gemini risers, but I'm not going to say it's a Gemini thing. IP: Logged |
