I'm relatively new to astrology, and every day I feel I discover something new in my natal chart. My sun and mars are conjunct, and BOTH are afflicted exactly by jupiter, saturn, uranus AND neptune, and in my third house. So, what does an affliction of the sun mean, mars? And is it unusual to have two afflicted planets conjunct? What about an afflicted third house? Thank you! IP: Logged |

I have my Sun, Uranus and Merc all afflicted so it is not so unusual Sun conj Mars in the 3rd might make you do things before you think and you might find yourself being torn apart between excessive optimism and depression or great insights and illusions; also you might be prone to accidents especially on the road; a child with such aspects might be diagnosed with ODD, I think. What do you think? IP: Logged |

it might also be that you might be seen as hot headed a bit? speak before you think? and maybe not seeing the situations right. But a full natal on here would help let us know if you need help doing that, we will tell ya!IP: Logged |

Afflicted 3rd house is basic difficulties in getting your point across, being heard, with yours it may come off as seeming more aggressive by what you say than what you intend, car problems, difficulties with neighbors, siblings, in elementary school , it could be any of these.IP: Logged |

Well actually, I'm not hot-headed at all. When I'm upset I tend to be extremely quiet and really try and think before I act/speak. I do have car problems all the damn time, though. I'm looking more at my chart, and I think my Jupiter may be afflicted too? My sun and mars are afflicted by four squares and my jupiter has three oppositions. I feel like I sometimes have a bunk chart or something! I do like my 12th house Jupiter and my 5th house Uranus though (always interesting).Anyway-- here is the link to my chart. http://www.astro.com/cgi/chart.cgi?btyp=w2at&rs=3 IP: Logged |

lol I know. I know nobody has a 'bunk' chart but damn! Three afflicted planets (which cancels out my exalted Jupiter) and an exalted Mercury affected by a retrograde! I just hate that I mostly have negative aspects in my charts.I guess at least mine and my boy's synastry chart is really great looking. We have double whammy mars/venus aspects And I will watch the video when I'm on a computer with audio damn what a tease because I want to watch! stupid compaq haha. IP: Logged |

I find so-called negative aspects to be more dynamic. My chart is mostly trines and sextiles, except for exact squares to my Venus from Saturn and Uranus. I LOVE those squares. It's good to have spice. I also have a retrograde Mercury (and in accidental detriment in the 9th). I haven't found it to be that much of a problem except sometimes it is difficult to put words to ideas. That said, negative aspects don't cancel out exaltations. My Venus is exalted in Pisces, for instance, but the squares to Saturn and Uranus doesn't make it less. Most people have at least one negative aspect in their charts. It has little bearing on one's quality of life. Brad Pitt for instance, has Mars exalted in Capricorn but square Jupiter. Angelina Jolie has Moon opposite Pluto and square Saturn, Venus square Uranus and Sun opposite Neptune. Robert Downey Jr has Mars opposite Saturn, Moon opposite Neptune (and retrograde Mercury in accidental detriment). Cindy Crawford has Mars opposite Pluto, both squaring Jupiter (and Jupiter is in detriment in Gemini). Ashton Kutcher has Sun, Moon and Venus square Uranus and opposite Saturn. I could go on and on. I have yet to come across one celebrity chart that doesn't have at least one square or opposition (although Robert Downey Jr's chart is devoid of squares). Also the link to your chart doesn't work. It just takes me to my astro page, not yours. You're going to have to save the chart as a gif, upload it to photobucket or imageshack and post it here. IP: Logged |

http://img836.imageshack.us/img836/90/astrow2at01abbyeveritth.gif Didn't know you couldn't see it! There you go. And okay so my exalted planets aren't necessarily diminished because of being afflicted, that at least feels better. I do understand the squares adding a bit of spice, I just don't like that my sun seems SO afflicted. But hey, I love myself and therefore my chart! IP: Logged |
