I was just wondering what people's inputs were on 0 degree placements since i tend to have that frequently show up in my chart. asc, and mc is on 0 degree and i have some signs that are 27 and 28 degrees. do degrees really matter?? or would one normally combine the two signs that fall on the zero degree placement especially if they are more important placements? thoughts thoughts thoughts....IP: Logged |

Some use cusps, some don't. It's up to you, really, and how you feel. C: Personally, I only use cusps on personal planets. 28, 29, 0, 1, 2 are cusp degrees to me. I also feel as though it's not really mixing or being both signs, but being one with the influence of the other. IP: Logged |

How sure are you of your TOB? have you read up on the Asc sign before?29' and sometimes 0' is called a criticaldegree http://cafeastrology.com/criticaldegrees.html Basic astrology forum, Learn the basics + House systems. http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum12/private-jjLYZw161/HTML/00067–1.html

RedScorp's description is great for how I view the cusps too. The zodiac wheel seems to work best for my system, when each sign is seen as a response to the other 11 signs. The cusp is the dividing line between signs, but it doesn't make sense to me for a planet to just wake up in a totally different sign with no relationship to it's historical path. If we wake from a dream, we automatically shift from one world to completely different world. The experiences in our dreams however, still effect the way we experience our morning. Here's how I interpret the degrees when I read: The degrees around 0: The idealized expression of the sign. Still young in it's archetypal mechanisms, mixed up in a feeling of overwhelm/determination to find itself free of the previous habits. Deeper understanding of the sign's concepts are often discovered. The first decan is ruled by the native sign and like a conjunction or new moon, it is super charged with cause for newness (the previous sign's old habits being the cause) and primordial potential, but contends with unconscious formlessness. The degrees around 15: The practical expression of the sign. Matters and principals concerning the archetype come easily and may be difficult to deviate from (as they feel like one's fulfilled nature). Lessons are often about feeling comfortable in one's own skin. The second decan is ruled by the sign's waxing triplicity, so it is creative, productive, and aspires to be the best "insert sign name here" it can be, within its given conditions. The degrees around 29: The graduating expression of the sign: Concepts related to the sign may sound more vivid than how they are personally experienced. There may also be a feeling one is lost in the habits of the sign. Lessons regarding the archetype revolve around discovering and overcoming useless habitual attitudes. The third decan is ruled by the sign's waning triplicity, so it is focused on refinement, disintegration of obsolete views, and the acquisition or accomplishment of lasting transformation. By the time 29 degrees is reached, things become so disintegrated that the native is forced to create a new persona from the bones of it's current sign. That persona becomes the seed which sprouts into the next sign. I have the following in my chart: Saturn 0 degrees Virgo - Does not feel very solid or commanding, but the ideals of Virgo play a large part in how I structure my reality. Abiding in the 5th House, my Saturn often busies it's self with refining creative ideas, insisting on tending to and worrying about the details regarding the creative structures of reality. My Saturn feels a bit clumsy and "just happy to be here". Neptune 15 degrees Sagittarius - Clairvoyance, empathy, and foresight are part of who I am (Neptune is also conjunct Sun). In a way I feel like a Pisces who has been set on fire. Most of my life has been spent utilizing Neptune to my advantage, discovering how much of a victim to Neptune I am, and slowly clawing my way out of bad habits which continue to happen unless I make an effort to remain aware of them every moment of the day. The deepest I have ever loved has been with a Pisces and our connection was otherworld/othertimely. It also takes more effort for me to wrap my mind around Neptune being in a sign other than Sag because it feels so natural to me where it is. Venus 29 degrees Scorpio - My Venus is in the 8th House, and I identify with Venus in Scorpio traits like intensity, control, passion, depth, obsession, jealousy, and soul devouring lust (om nom nom). When these feelings arise in me though, they are completely objectified. I can see the feeling, the cause of the feeling, and the path I need to take to lighten up and accept the blatant truth of each situation (Sagittarius). Because I have learned from my negative Venus habits, I let those habits go when they arise and seek a more lighthearted attitude. Though the mechanism for Venus in Scorpio still reacts in a Scorpio way, I get the option to expand beyond the intense focus and have a good chuckle at how silly I am being. This results in a much more optimistic view of love and beauty compared to how seriously I viewed things when I was young. =) ------------------ Ever used the Linda-Goodman.com Search Engine? Wanna? Not really, I appreciate the Venus in Sag concept a lot, but my Venus in Scorpio still longs for the deep, lasting, and meaningful connection with others. IP: Logged |

That was a really interesting post, Xiiro, and I relate completely to what you said about signs in the 15 degree range. My sun, Jupiter, and Mars are all at 16 degrees and I am often uncomfortable in my own skin.I like Gary Goldschneider's system of astrology that uses 48 signs (five types of each sign, thus: Aries-Pisces, Aries I, Aries II, Aries III, Aries-Taurus.) His descriptions are spot-on, IMO. So my Saturn is 0 degrees retrograde. According to Goldschneider, this Cancer-Leo cusp is one of oscillation between emotionalism and a kind of stoicism, causing emotional blockages. He says I should seek therapy. Well when I can afford it I will. 'Til then, there are online forums like this to talk to. Cheers, y'all! IP: Logged | |
