What sign has the propensity toward being overly religious? Growing up I knew a very pompous over zealous Christian fanatic who was a Sagittarius sun. Virgos, have a saint-like quality to them and Scorpios seems like the anti-Christ lol (jk). Also has anyone ever known a Pisces who thought they were the "chosen one" or prophet, yes I am being totally serious. Libras would probably do what was cool or popular like Kabalah and a Gemini would often be agnostic, not able to "make their mind up" without the facts.

What are some of your experiences with the signs and their devotion.

Currently, a few religious fanatics I can think of all have "7" birthdays (7, 16, 25 for those of you into numerology) but since this Astrology and doesn't apply, they are Aries Suns and Virgo Suns, by a looooong shot. I may go into this more, later. I'm not trying to generalize by Sun sign. The Scorpios I know are kinda on the agnostic side. Sagittarians run the spectrum. My grandmothers on both sides are strictly religious, a girl I know who is a Sag posts bible verses on fb but I know she goes and gets crap faced at parties and acts otherwise in her personal life. And then I know Sags who are kind of in between, but are more self-serving than bible-thumping.

I used to be an orthodox Presbyterian for a few years. Random accident, long story. In my defense I never preached at anyone

9H Jupiter Aries <---does that say it all?

I'm a Cap. Most (all?) of the men in the small church were born in winter (Cap/Aqua/Pisces.) Most of the women were born in summer (Cancer/Leo/Virgo.)

For what it's worth.

Being religious does not make one a zealout. Having the Faith doesn't even make one religious.

I believe, and yet I curse like a sailor, much to my chagrin, and I'm not most examplary in my conduct. However, I still believe. What am I doing in an astrology forum? I don't know. It's a constant internal struggle.

I was a Southern Baptist growing up and I did my fair share of Bible thumping when I was a kid, but stopped that in my late teens. I'm now a Methodist, which is more liberal. Exact same story with my wife.

Anyway, I'm a Cap and my wife is Leo.

wow a southern baptist- i have a soft spot for southerners- there is a simplicity to them that i like...

do you believe in reincarnation then? i feel the link between reincarnation and astrology to be quite strong.

where does your belief in astrology come from and how do you square it to your other beliefs?

I know many Sags. Many of them are religious, while many of them are not. What I notice about all of us is that we have strong beliefs.

I'm not religious at all, but my personal beliefs are very strong. My Sun is conjunct Uranus in Sag, so I'm very non-traditional in regards to what I believe in.

My sister has sag moon/mars.
Although uranus is in conjunction with them both.
She's so anti religion. She is very much into spirituality especially going towards buddism.

That could be the pisces sun/jupiter/venus and asc.

Belief in astrology? I'm not supposed to even be in an astrology forum. It's more out of intellectual curiousity. I don't really know what to make of it. The official version according to religion is that astrology is the work of the devil.

And so reincarnation or past lives do not fit in with my religion either.

The official version is that I don't believe in astrology because I believe in my religion. The unofficial version is that I am totally conflicted and trying to reconcile the disparity in beliefs.

And if my wife finds out I'm playing with astrology, I'll have my a$$ kicked so hard it's not funny. I think it'll be even worse than cheating on my wife with another woman. At least that can be forgiven. Believing in the devil's work takes more than repentance. Generally, that isn't forgiven.

And I grew up in a Southern Baptist church but I'm very far from being a Southener lol I grew up in South-East Asia and I am of Asian ethnicity! My wife is a true Southerner. Strange that we both grew up in the same church on opposite sides of the Earth.

Sagittarius/Jupiter/9th is religious dogma, religion as putting society into place, fanatic in sense of pompous, self-righteous, etc.
Pisces/Neptune/12th is the spiritual element, close connection w.the divine/God, crying about that close connection, etc.
Combine them like Neptune in Sagittarius, seeing God in everything/everyone.
I see Scorps and Aquas as fanatics. Fixed in general.

Saturn in 9th house Capricorn

I am not really interested in organized religion within the context of participating in them. However I equally respect another individual's belief in whatever religion they choose. I am more along the lines of agnostic-spiritual.

I am not religious in the least. I do believe in a higher power and that events in life lie in a control far beyond mines or any humans, but as far as living by and reading the good book and being a "fanatic".... naw. As far as other people's beliefs, I say live and let live. Religion or other faiths should be a personal thing, but that's just me.

Its in its domicile
I know people with these placements, they always follow some sort of faith.

My mother in law... Libra Sun, Moon... (the majority of her planets fall in her 12th house... Moon rules her 9h. But, 9h is empty.(Asc Scorpio, 1st decan/degree)

she's the closest thing to a true religious fanatic I've ever met. According to husband when he was still very young his godfather/uncle (by marriage) got off the bottle by the power of being a Jehovah's Witness... so his wife, (my mother in law's twin sister) joined him, and of course her sister (my MiL) followed suit. ~__~
After that the already extremely superstitious and devote Catholic household went into chaos... husband's father is still Catholic, husband is nonpracticing but says he's very much still Catholic...

I'm still learning to cope with the division, and extremism in my mother-in-law/aunt-in-law's beliefs (as well as the other half of the extended families involved and their strong Catholic devotion, borderline fanaticism...) 'though I've been friends with JWs, and the issues aren't in that... it's just their (the ones I have to bear with here) fanatic meets superstitious ways/ideals... (mind you not communicating is already difficult) >.<;
...there's no winning a religious argument with them, I avoid the topic, and keep my own religious persuasions to myself... half out of respect and half just to maintain the peace. She'd go half-batty if she knew I had a deck of Tarot cards in my dresser. XD

(she's already half-batty, so we don't need that) ^^

I had a friend who was extremely antireligious until he was around 15... (I was close to their family, grew up with his older brothers and him)... I don't know his signs~ not for certain, memory failure - plus, I get them confused... he was either a Sagittarius Sun or a Cancer sun (the other brother was a Taurus, we were classmates, it's easier to remember his birthday). lol Anyway, he went from being a nihilistic, anarchist to preaching "women are the root of all evil" and being extremely "brainwashed" by some small local evangelistic cult/church... idk-really~ it wasn't even the groups fault as far as I could see from actually participating in their sermons and events... there were individual preachers, who scared me... very bad vibes... >.<; They did this to my uncle (by marriage, divorced from my aunt at the time...) Before he passed, he was completely warped by the preachers... my brother's best friend since childhood's father has since gone the same way... I can't say it is "absurd" but it feels that way to me... >.<; not the belief, but the change, the very visible "brain-washing" - none of them were anything like they were before after having become involved in this group... but, like I said... it wasn't everyone there... and not all their pastors/preachers seemed the same... it was more cult than church. ; ; very bizarre...

I'm far from fanatic... my beliefs are eclectic, and more my own than anything else... I wasn't raised in any religious box... thankfully. ^^ Sagittarius h4/IC, Uranus-Venus-SN & Jupiter cnj Neptune in Sagittarius (cnj Mercury in Capricorn)... Taurus Moon in 9h. Leo 12h, Sun in 5h Capricorn trine Moon... You can throw 8h matters/Scorpio in that mix too... occult/spirituality goes into that house as well, ne? ~ Scorpio 3h (Mars-Pluto, Saturn : Aries 8h)

<owndrum> ^^; lol
