i was wondering if there is any astrological reasons for trends changing in what people find physically appealing? i remember back in the 90s when i was growing up i was considered cute because i had blonde hair, and it was fairly common that you would see guys who werent blonde bleaching their hair. now i notice most women prefer darker hair. i wonder if there are any astrological reasons for things like this.IP: Logged |

I’ve always thought that transiting Neptune and Uranus had to do with changing social trends in fashion and pop culture… Neptune is about images of glamour (especially of women), and cultural styles of escapism, such as music and film. Uranus is about what is currently considered cutting edge, trendy and exciting… and what the ‘in’ things to do are right now… Uranus also seems to have to do with images of male glamour or ‘coolness’ floating around in pop culture in general. About the blond hair thing… That’s a pretty specific detail, it’s hard to pin it down to any one sign. I’m guessing you started coming of age when Uranus was in Aquarius and Pisces… both signs are pretty ‘blond’ in people of European descent, especially Pisces. Now Uranus is in Aries and squaring Pluto… Pluto types are usually seen as dark and ‘mysterious’… Maybe that’s why their seems to be a preference for darker men right now…in general… Although I’m sure there are still tons of individual women who still like fairer coloring just as part of their personal taste.

yea perhaps it is a bit too specific to pin down , but it was a real heavy trend, as is the popularity of darker hair today.IP: Logged |

You start with outer planets and narrow down Pluto-Neptune- Uranus Pluto as indicator of what type of generation you are dealing with,it is manifestation of the masses,Neptune is trends on large, system od belief, and Uranus for the means of presentation, like what Sun/Mars present for an individual. I remember the bleach blonde trend back in the '90s lol. I hated it, especially when guys would have orange-ish yellow hair on top and their natural dark hair--two-toned. YUCK. I hope that hairstyle is damned to hair hell, where it belongs.I would say to look at Venus and Mars as to what a person finds attractive, though they aren't cut and dried rules, plus some people experience different parts of the sign, or more parts of their Venus and Mars positions than others. Venus in Pisces, for one: some are very forgiving with looks, and some like very feminine-looking women, but I've heard of at least one on here who is into super-skinny girls. Same things with Venus in Taurus: I would think that Venus in Taurus would like traditional femininity and a more curvy shape, and many seem to, but others, again, expect super-skinny. I think, too, that you can't discount upbringing, culture, and era. A lot of older men seem to prefer curvy shapes, which makes sense because back in the 1950s and early 1960s, curves were more accepted--look at shows like the original "Twilight Zone", for example (1959-1964) and you will see plenty of curvy women. A lot of guys today have been conditioned to prefer super-skinny girls, as well as super-toned: those are the kinds of women that you see on TV and in other forms of media as being 'beautiful'. In some cultures, curvy is more accepted (sometimes, though, unfortunately, to a disgusting degree, like in some countries where women are force fed). Pale skin used to be considered beautiful because it meant that you didn't have to work outside; these days, fake bake tans are in. With the success of "Mad Men", curves are starting to come back, as are retro styles (which makes Platero very happy). So, beauty standards do change and cycle through. Personally, I don't like extremes in beauty/body type and don't find them healthy in a lot of cases (with exceptions for people who are naturally that way). IP: Logged |

has anyone watched 21 jumpstreet the movie? if you have, then you know what i'm talking about in terms of comparing what was considered cool back then and cool these days.i've noticed that a lot of older women tend to go for the rough-around-the-edges kind of guy. the jock, if you will, with the 5 o'clock shadow. now, they go for the sensitive and intellectual man, clean and in-style. feel free to disagree but this is what i've noticed. i'm young.. a 90's kid, and i really appreciate women with curves. super-skinny girls aren't for me, tbh. maybe it's mostly because i live on an island and women here are thick so it is the norm. i just dig healthy people, in spirit and body. everyone here has interesting points!
