Just today I learned about relocation charts. As I understand, the Natal chart is with you for life. The relocation chart, on the other hand, is more about the location you're in. As the natal's still there, the relocation I guess would be like a "sauce" to go with the natal "spaghetti", so to speak. A blending if I'm getting this right.

So I did some poking around. As a few of you are aware, my Natal Ascendant is square Saturn, off by maybe 12' of a degree.

For a test run, I did a relocation chart (can be selected on astro.com's extended horoscopes drop down list) and put the city I currently live in. ...blasted if the Relocated Ascendant wasn't 30 seconds of a degree off of squaring Saturn. ...this explains a lot! Not to mention, has been very not-conducive for a lot of my personal goals. As I've been told by quite a few people I should consider getting out of the area, I decided to check out relocation charts for areas I've considered moving to.

First location: Seattle, WA (and also checked an hour north of there where a friend of mine lives to be safe). For that one, the relocated Ascendant was around ~25 Libra, rather than my 3 Sag 41'33". This puts the relo ascendant for Seattle area roughly square my Jupiter, but leaves my Saturn more or less unaspected to the ascendant. While that would definitely help some Saturnian aspects (as well as not indirectly squaring my sun as well), the Jupiter square could present new challenges. Also, the relo Midheaven for Seattle is roughly semi-sextile Saturn... which... I'm not entirely keen on what anything semisextile Saturn would influence. Thoughts?

So I checked Houston, TX, as I've thought a bit about Texas at times. That location puts the relo Midheaven directly on my Sun/Regulus combo. Pretty positive. And relo Ascendant falls on 23 Sco 31' in Houston, roughly trine my Black Moon Lilith. Could be interesting. ...and also puts my Descendant dangerously close to my Karma/Algol area. That could pose some challenges.

Checked Phoenix, AZ next. Moon/Chiron conjunct relo Descendant. Not sure how that'd play out. Also the relo Midheaven for this sextiles Mars and squares Uranus, and trines Vesta. Busy one.

So, I checked around another area... an area a few friends of mine wouldn't recommend I go to right now. But... lo and behold, I found a relo that might give a bit of a boost... AND some interesting challenges. Here's what I found for this last area: Relo ascendant Sextiles saturn/Sun, which would likely smooth over my natal square. The relo Midheaven doesn't really impact anything other than Trining Pallas. However, my firecracker of a Venus/Pluto/Mars stellium is firmly within 12th house, whether using Placidus or Whole Sign houses. THAT could be interesting. The location in question for this relo? Los Angeles, CA. (Yep, Hollywood area).

AS for the Venus/Pluto/Mars thing and the other relos? Seattle, it depends on house system used. Whole sign puts them in 1st, Placidus firmly puts them in 12th. Houston TX? The stellium's in 12th using Whole Sign, 11th if Placidus. Still challenging either way. (Houston is also too close to the Hurricane zone for my taste, and after the two remnants that went through my neck of the woods last summer, I've had my fill. I'd rather deal with quakes and volcanoes). Phoenix AZ puts them roughly in 12th house regardless of system (with Placidus putting my Phoenix relo Mars right before the 12th cusp). LA puts the stellium firmly in 12th regardless of system.

From what I can see, staying put is definitely not to my best advantage. Has anyone ever gone through and checked multiple relocation charts to gauge a potential move?

I haven't gone through and checked each chart myself but I have gone through "Astro Click Travel" on the same site to check out places I have lived in the past. Although it doesn't give as much information, it was accurate, very accurate.

Never noticed that Astro Click Travel one before... looks pretty cool. Although the google-map mode tends to hang my browsers after awhile, that's if I do a lot of clicking around on it though.

Yeah, seems there's more challenging aspects to my current location than I previously thought. I'll have to take a deeper look at this. Thanks for the info!
