How does Venus conjunct South Node manifest in a birth chart, and in synastry? Side question if anyone knows:
My friend has Venus conjunct SN natally, and my Venus conjuncts his Venus. I've read this means the Venus person holds the SN person back in some way. However, does the fact that he has this aspect in his natal chart make this synastry aspect worse or better? IP: Logged |

I'm not sure about who holds who back. I'm not even sure that applies in all cases, at least not initially. I do believe that it's karmic though. I had this aspect with a man with whom I was in a relationship for seven years. Actually, it was my Sun/Venus conjunct his SN. We definitely had a lot of karma to work out and I'd like to think we did a somewhat admirable job with it I will say that it always felt like there was something missing in our relationship, mostly on the sexual front. We had a massive amount of comfort together, like we'd known one another forever, but we were more like long-lost friends than true partners. I would look to the house positions in both charts to see what houses are being activated by the conjunction. IP: Logged |

Found this on a website from Jan Spiller ages ago..Your Venus Conjuncts Someone's South Node Since your planet is conjunct the South Node, by becoming independent within yourself in expressing the planet involved, you clear the unhealthy ties that bind you. You then open the door to possibilities for success and fulfillment in those areas which reflect the concerns of the planet. Since you are the VENUS person: This is an incomplete past-life love connection. You and that person were probably mates, perhaps lovers in a very significant way. Somehow when death came, the love feelings between you were not completed, and the attraction and longing for one another have continued into this lifetime. This does not necessarily mean that you are to become mates again, but rather that there is something to finish between the two of you so that you can both go on with a fullness of heart. This connection does tend to "hold on" and can be with you this entire lifetime. It may be rooted in the basis of friendship and shared enjoyment, rather than as intimate partners. You tend to be very permissive of his/her flaws. However, if you overlook his/her liabilities and "go unconscious," you will get hurt in terms of your self-worth. With this contract both of you "recognize" one another. This aspect between two people always shows a passionate love connection that was unresolved in a past life. Generally, it was a pleasant connection with idealistic expectations for a euphoric future. However, occasionally it does show a tragedy involving hatred and revenge centered around a love object. For example, here’s one possible scenario: He/She came from wealth and privilege and bought you from your parents for sexual favors. In all cases, they were the perpetrator, and you the victim. If a third person is involved in the intense power struggle between you, it will be you who tries to break apart the bond between the third person and him/her. Whenever you allow your affection for them to open your heart and be fully vulnerable, somehow they "push you away." If they have a planet conjoining their South Node, in a past life the bond or romance and passion were so strong that a harmful co-dependency was formed, and the ability to love wisely and independently was forfeited. Now they give you part of yourself back by strengthening your independence in being able to love with a greater vision of what is going on. His/her influence increases your ability to share love with others without losing yourself in the process. On a mundane level, they are generally not good karma for you in relationships, your appearance, or your finances. Basically, he/she inadvertently gives you bad advice about what romantic choices to make, how to dress, and how to conduct yourself in relationships. Your best bet is to follow your own instincts in these areas and make choices that you feel good about, regardless of their opinion.

Natal: Shows INCOMPLETE karma regarding love. Synastry: Past life lover. But, what I say is pretty generalistic. it is important the house where falls to and the aspects are made. IP: Logged |

Anyone else have opinions or experiences to share on with natal Venus conjunct south node?My best friend has this and her love life has never been great. I'm hesitant to think it's going to remain a chronic problem for her. I suppose many people with Venus-SN have to learn to overcome a tendency toward love addictions...I just wonder what's supposed to happen after they overcome it. What's love like when you are manifesting NN energy, while your Venus is on the SN? Any ideas?

I went through a phase of attracting people who had their Venus conjunct my south node. It would be unfair to say that they held me back, but I haven't carried any of them "in to the future". I don't do past lives...so I interpret the nodes as past and present in this life. I think contacts to the south node are usually "familiar" in some way and with Venus con south node, it might be that they hold the same values that you once did. I don't believe it's necessarily a bad thing to have stuff on someone else's south node [or vice versa] as long as there is something aspecting the north too. Without the connection to the "future", there's unlikely to be one, it'll get to a stage where there's nothing to "pull you forward". Venus is also about relating, so there could be familiarity here, but the node person may feel at times that they've progressed beyond the point the Venus person has. It all depends what else is going on across the charts. Trines, sextiles etc from other planets to Venus will show support. I think it's too simplistic to say the south is what we have to move away from. Yes, him having the aspect natally will make a difference, your Venus' will be conjunct for starters which will give similarities in what matters to you both. You need to look where his Venus is disposited to get a clearer picture [planet ruler of the sign it's in], it's probably the case that he can move the energy around the chart rather than be hindered by it. I've never had a good experience with a man, and I rarely date because of that. I don't date at all, actually. I'm also extremely hesitant to prematurely commit to anything with a man, even a date. I like to know someone first - check them out. IP: Logged |

I've only really become familiar with nodes recently so I haven't formed any solid interpretation of what they mean to me yet. But, my Venus/SN 15° SAG ~ NN has 1° Vesta (and several other interesting asteroid bodies, and stars like Cursa exact/Rigel by 1°) conjunctions as well. On one hand I think of it as being the same as the relationship between polar signs in general, complimenting each other by their differences and fundamentally balancing one another out. Then, adding in the concept that they are like achievement lines in palmistry, well that is at least how I see it somewhat. Perhaps the SN are the achievements we're certain of, or have already, and the NN are where they lead, for greater achievement/fulfillment (spiritual/karmic/ambition whichever). I'm not well studied in synastry either to be honest, but I recently began using the birth data from someone I had a very deep/sordid connection with from my youth, just to explore the mechanics mentioned by others here. I was very shocked to find that this person's Vertex/East Point Axis was exact on my NN/SN axis (along with some pretty astonishing asteroid patterns), and even more bewildering, that his SN/NN axis had prominent relations to such asteroid bodies on my chart and likewise my Vertex/E.Point to his... So, as for the karmic lessons imposed on SN - NN connections between people.... hmmm~ I wish I had more people to personally compare this theory too, but I'm a cold woman, who doesn't fall often... sadly, I never connected with my husband on this level, sadder still we're kept together by moral/cultural obligation, so I don't expect stars to cross before me again. But, I'll tell ya' what, once was plenty anyway.... and, since I fouled up that lesson/opportunity pretty bad back then, I'll probably be repeating it in future lives for some time to come.... bahhumbug!! Besides this, the only Venus-influenced energy I've noticed that may relate to my SN conjunction is a love of the past, archaeology was in my blood since birth, the appreciation of history is absolutely the closest study to my heart. It may have to do with where it is too though, am I right? 4th House/IC being geriatric/home and haven-like... It may also be why the greatest job (outside being a mother of course) I ever had was as a rest home CNA~!~ so, the theme in my Venus placement is old things, antiques, the elderly, and history..... hah~ ------------------ SUN - Capricorn MOON - Taurus ASC - Virgo IP: Logged |

Hi SaturnineMoth! (Not your real name, I presume? )Welcome to LindaLand! I'm also a Cap. quote: Originally posted by SaturnineMoth: I've only really become familiar with nodes recently so I haven't formed any solid interpretation of what they mean to me yet. Is your SN in Sag or Gemini? quote: Originally posted by SaturnineMoth: But, I'll tell ya' what, once was plenty anyway.... and, since I fouled up that lesson/opportunity pretty bad back then, I'll probably be repeating it in future lives for some time to come.... bahhumbug!!
I'm sorry to hear that and have a similar situation, actually. Like, sometimes and in some ways, I think I just didn't pick the right guy Even though I love my husband, we seem to get in each other's way. But then I think, it's not like I would ever be a good picker. What's my track record with picking? Not so hot. I have Venus conjunct Neptune. *eye roll at myself* quote: Originally posted by SaturnineMoth:

oh~ Thank you so much for the welcome!!~ -------------------- I should have written NN in there after Vesta, I swear by 8PM my son has my brain turned into a gooey, mushy, mess~ he's a hyper-one, keeps me from making cohesive thoughts sometimes! lol -------------------- South Node: 15° Sagittarius - South Node x Venus x (Klymene & Charybdis) ~exact~ North Node: 15° Gemini - North Node x *Cursa* ~exact~ or 1° Vesta x Antigone x Academia x Bede @ 14° or 1° *Rigel* x [Hypothetical] Kronos x Rhea x Siwa x Jung @ 16° ~meticulous records = messy mind~ ? lol ---------------- I fell for my husband's Neptune illusions, er, delusions...? I'm sure~ hah.... I have Nep-Jup-Merc stellium, but he's got all the cozy Neptune aspects happening... all I have with Venus is a 4° (kinda wide)conjunction with Uranus.... which I find is not the best for long-term, stale,sucking-the-life-out-of-you-torturously-slowly-relationships anymore than Neptune in aspect to it is. XD aw~ Faith!~ At least you can say ya' still love him!~ that's what really matters after all, an emotional connection~!

I have someone's Venus/Sun/Merc conjunct my South Node in Gemini. This guy asked me out several times in the past 4 years to which I either said No or "I need time to think." Yet he took me home last year to introduce me to his family as his girlfriend to which I didn't say anything. I then moved abroad but he never stopped calling. The last time he called was to ask if I really wanted to be with him because I neither cared to keep in touch or remembered to wish him on his birthday. I was told that he had to marry a girlfriend recently who threatened him with suicide. That was it for us. I don't know if he had her by his side all those years. I, as the Snode person, certainly wasn't a good influence on him. I admit that I manipulated him for selfish reasons. There's also a flavor of unrequited love. On a positive note, we didn't have to try and establish a comfort level; it was there the first time we met. I'm usually on my best behavior around a prospective partner but with him, I could be myself. There was nothing to hide. It was as if we had known each other forever. As Venus, he had no detrimental effect on me though I think it would have been different if it was a committed relationship. His Venus conj my Snode in my 4th. I'm supposed to outgrow my desire to hatch eggs at home and become the executive type. I certainly would've compromised on my education and career for him and failed to achieve the goals set by Nnode. Coincidentally, my family thought he was bad for me because he didn't focus on building a career. IP: Logged |

Wow! So thorough! My Neptune is conjunct your SN and my Mars is conjunct your NN. quote: Originally posted by SaturnineMoth: all I have with Venus is a 4° (kinda wide)conjunction with Uranus.... which I find is not the best for long-term, stale,sucking-the-life-out-of-you-torturously-slowly-relationships anymore than Neptune in aspect to it is. I see what you mean! And I gotta write that word down, I never heard it before! "sucking-the-life-out-of-you-torturously-slowly-relationships." But I'm sorry it's like that. quote: Originally posted by SaturnineMoth:

I guess so, but I still don't the like control dramas. He's a Leo, by the way. What sign is your husband? IP: Logged | |
