I'm a Cap Moon, Venus in 11th house opp Saturn, and my Sun/Mer/Mars/IC all aspect Uranus so I get both sides.

I actually have dated a fair share of Aqua/Uranus influenced men and I will say it's not that they get freaked out easily per se...they just don't like over the top expressions of things. When they have a combo of Aqua and Cap its more that they value freedom...BUT also value someone who is special...and a rarity. Think of Cap placements as a fine wine or antique. They really want their freedom, but if they choose to be with someone or even get to know someone they want it to be serious and last.

Having said that it's best that you have known this Aqua for a while (Cap represents and LOVES anything that lasts...ie time)...plus depending on how your relationship is (ie are you supportive of him, and care for him...and have been there through thick and thin) then you don't have to censor yourself if you indeed care for him. What I would suggest you do is get him a present...nothing over the top or super fancy or flashy. But something you know he likes that shows you care for him (remember Venus in Earth needs physical expressions of love...and even though he is an Aqua he needs tangible proof that you care for him). This will even more so reinforce how much you care for him as you are long distance, and this shows you put effort and thought into it.

So in this instance I say that words are not enough...if you can not get him anything send him an e card...something that shows much more effort than just saying "happy birthday."
