So I have a police scanner app on my iphone that I listen to sometimes. Since last night was NYE I thought there'd be a lot of DWIs (and there were).

However, there were 3 suicide attempts before I fell asleep and so far today, 2 calls for psychiatric assistance. Now my specific city has about 165,000 residents so I know that's not a high number but the calls were coming in back to back between 12:30am & 1:00am and then today from about noon to 12:30pm today.

The moon was void in Leo until 9:36am (pacific) when it entered Virgo but I wonder what else was going on?

My first thought was transiting Sun conjunct Pluto.

Unfortunately, the holidays are a very difficult time for some. Suicides are not uncommon esp. between Christmas and New Year, as people who are alone feel it 10x more.

That's not an astrology response, but it's a known statistic...

Yes, this is true, I agree with you. A family member not related to me by blood almost 2 years ago committed suicide just a few days after New year's.

The birthday is another high focus time for that.

But regarding transits there's not just one, usually a lot of factors add up. I can think of 2 in particular, in combination, that come up fairly often, but that's not always the case.

I agree with the holidays being a trigger.

T. Nep is active in aspect to personal planets in suicides pretty often. It's very hard to see a way out of a bad situation when you have t. Neptune confusing you it can make some people very irrational about their options if they're in a bad place.
