Topic: How strong you come off?

I often times seem to catch people off guard with my energy or the way I come across. I get told I come off very aggressive and intimidating and wondered about other people who are told the same thing: How is your Sun aspected? What house is it in? Your Mars? The thing is I don't understand what is aggressive about me, but at the same time I want to be approachable and have good energy so I want to work on it.IP: Logged |

hannaramaaYes, absolutely. I consider myself a pretty friendly person but I am very aware of the effect I can have on people. It's different if you see yourself as a "badass" but when you're an amiable sort of person it gets tiresome having to work so hard to be percieved correctly. I've always put it down to having an ascendant that is out of harmony with my sun. I have a Leo Rising in the Leo decan AND it's conjunct Jupiter!!!! I realise i give off a pretty strong first impression. Many times people have told me I look too serious/moody, even when I'm fine! I try to be as friendly as I can but I have a natural reserve (8th house Pisces sun opposite Saturn). I dont smile easily but when I do I mean it. I have been told my smile lights up my face but whats the point in smiling if you dont mean it??? It's so easy to tell a fake smile and I hate that. I also have the Sun conjunct Mars which definitely adds a fire to my nature. I can see it in the friends who also have that aspect, it adds a sort of dynamic energy to the person's outward demenour which may be misinterpreted by some. So yeah, in short those are the issues i think may contribute towards a misunderstanding of attitude.....at least in my experience. IP: Logged |

Interesting how you say it depends on the relation between the ASC and Sun, it rings true for me, Sun Quincunx ASC with Sun in Gemini and ASC in Scorpio both first decan, I come across quite scary or moody and people find me very intimidating like I'm the grim reaper but I don't see that at all within myself as I'm quite an easy going person once people get to know meIP: Logged |

Yeesh. I can only imagine the kind of wrong first impression people get from you! I wouldn't want to have Scorpio/Gemini anything. My 11H Sun is sextile my ASC and my Sun is also sextile Mars 12H. Shoot, I have Mars conjunct ASC too!

When working collaboratively in small groups, I've often felt (only on good days) they would be better off without me - best to take my pushy dominant self off and allow the quieter ones to find their voice. It wasn't that I spoke too much, I just felt my energy was out of syuc. Of course this wasn't the case with all groups as I often was up against more dominant people than me, which suited me fine. I have Jupiter and Pluto in 1st, Scorpio Sun, Leo rising and Mars sextile Asc in 3rd. Don't know if the last was significant in this respect.IP: Logged |

I realise I am talking from my own experience and that it may not be that way for others. However I feel that having such a different ascendant/sun can produce a kind of inner tension. I feel that some people only see the "Leo" part of me, which does come through strongly so I'm repeatedly told. When inside I wish people could see the "real" me, who is much quieter, reserved and dare I say it - Piscean. Going back to the orignal post, my idea was that people (like me and you) who are percieved as scary or intimidating (without intending to be so) may be displaying this inner tension?

I come off as a snobby, aloof, off-standish diva. I think this is because my ascendant is either Leo or Virgo...god I detest Virgo!!

Mars in aries 11th house.
I think my sun is pretty strong it conjuncts the asc/venus/mercury
Trine saturn and square jupiter.I usually gain the respect of my peers or coworkers , I remember when I was little I would always be be ring leader of the group. I don't think I seem intimidating or agressive because I'm really outgoing and open with people.
Maybe people don't want to mess with my fiery spirit? I've rarely had confrontation with others, I usually try to avoid it too.
Perhaps I kill my enemies with kindness lol...

My sag sun and Uranus are conjunct my sag ascendant, and my mercury, Jupiter and Neptune are in my first. You better believe I come off strong!! Lol I'm very opinionated, outgoing, and friendly, and make a strong first impression. A lot of people think I'm intimidating. I don't hold back, especially when it comes to animal rights and women's rights. I'm really tall and thin. I'm very much a girly-girl, though. I guess that's the Neptune. my mars is in my 2nd in aqua sextile my sun, ascendant, uranus in sag and moon in Aries. I have a stellium in cap which calms me down. IP: Logged |

i come off as invisible/cold/"you don't exist"/autistic/unapproachable etc. this is what i've been told.Taurus Mars in H8
Sun in H6: opp Pluto, square Jupiter/Moon, trine Neptune, sextile Saturn/Mars. no idea what my sun aspects mean! have yet to look them up. IP: Logged |

I don't get taken seriously all the time to be honest. it's because I look soft (Pisces rising). But every so often, I get told that I seem mean-spirited, or that I am hard to read. My cancer sun is opposite uranus, trine pluto, opposite neptune, and conjunct mercury and chiron. My mars in aries is in the 1st house, but, not conjunct the ascendant.IP: Logged |

Saturn is killing my h1 right now. But I used to come on v v strong. Pluto ruler of h1 conj asc. Mars and Saturn there. My sun is opposite my mars in h7. In general I think I give of a very affable but don't F with me vibe. IP: Logged |

One thing I've noticed is that if you're female you can come off as too aggressive simply by not agreeing with what you're told. Hmm, that reminds me...

I'm the reverse of you guys.I come off as really friendly and chatty, light-hearted and all things Gemini (ASC). But inside I'm pretty much Virgo/Scorpio, I have extremist views that I keep secret, and I often feel like I'm at war with myself let alone with other people. I'm definitely not as 'likeable' when it comes to personal relationships and I can be quite harsh in my words/behaviour (only if you're annoying me, eh). But few people see that part of me, because on a social basis, I'm all flowers and butterflies.
And Scorpio/Gemini combo is probably one of the most difficult ones to deal with. It's just a paradox and at times it's like you're bipolar or just plain crazy.

I come off as a very cold person even though I do smile and chat. I try to be friendly but truth is, I'm really shy and reserved. I've always been like that ever since I was a kid. People often mistake that for being cold. If you don't approach me, I don't approach you.
