I have an empty ninth house, ranging from Aries into most of Taurus.

I'm far from a philistine but I've read that I'm supposed to have an interest in travel. I am not very adventurous at all and I am a homebody. There's only two places I'd like to travel to more than others, and only one for historic reasons.

My take on education is a serious one, but I prefer self-learning compared to my country's formal education.

Something conflicts with my willingness to commit myself to learning some of the subjects I am interested in, though. I am interested in history, especially Nazi Germany, political science, and film. I've blamed my ADHD for my inability to devote large amounts of time to studying these subjects. It's strange, though, because I've been consistent with my interest in astrology for over four years.

I remember once two years ago, there was a week where I was purely intellectual and finishing articles and finishing films, but it was such a brief amount of time and I was also unhappy.

So, I like learning and find it very beneficial but I know it can also be boring at times and I value entertainment probably just as highly (if not more).

I did very poorly in school because I wasn't raised to believe homework was important and also because I was focussed on social activity.

Is this all normal for an empty ninth house?
What else could it be?

Please note that I am asking about an empty ninth house, and that I'm using myself as an example, but seeing if others can compare as well. So, this post could be considered relevant to others. Therefore, it should not be moved to Personal Readings.

Also, no one reads Personal Readings anyway, and it feels obsolete.

Oh! I also dropped out of high school! Is that normal for an empty ninth house person?

Your 9h has Aries on the cusp but you have Mars in Capricorn 5h - this explains some of why your priorities in education leaned more towards being social. Also, you have Venus in Aquarius 6h - your desire to pursue intellectual pursuits will be projected into 6h and Aquarian activities moreso than simply Arien or (intercepted) Taurean. Meanwhile your Sun which is your chart ruler sits in 6h Aquarius as well but Uranus is in Capricorn 5h as well - so you're more in tune with 5th and 6th house activity for mental expansion - 5h is traditionally ruled by Leo which occupies most of your 12th house and Asc... not just that but you have Moon in Cancer opposed to much of your placements - making your emotional thought stronger than your actual academic/intellectual urges. With Jupiter the traditional ruler over the 9th house (traditionally ruled by Sagittarius) - in Sccorpio h3 - you may like to communicate and spontaneously be drawn to particular areas of study, your interests may be very miscellaneous but the squared position Jupiter has here in the house of lower academics which is traditionally ruled by Gemini/Mercury - is not conducive to yearning for great depth so much as variation, light-hearted learning. Mercury which would indicate some of your intellectual/academic interests/ambitions then - looking here --- that falls cnj your Desc node - 6h - this can mean several things - but for the most part - it says to me that you will like partners who are intellectually innovative and good communicators moreso than emphasizing your own strength... you may rely on others to stimulate your mind. Since Mercury rules your 2nd and 11th houses that stimulation will probably come from those you associate with who have like minds to yours - you value the companionship of like-minded individuals -

that's what I see anyway....

------------
My 9h is governed by Taurus - the majority of my planets lie in my 4th house ruled by Sagittarius, with Jupiter, Venus, Uranus, and Neptune all stationed within. Mercury is my chart ruler and conjuncts (within stellium) both Neptune and Jupiter in Sag from Capricorn - 4h - - - My Moon is in Taurus 9h - but rules my 11h. I have 3h Scorpio with Mars, Pluto, Saturn - Sagittarius 4h and Scorpio 3h are my dominant houses, Gemini sits on my MC and rules my North Node (it is in it's natural position therefore).... Venus is on the South node in Sagittarius/IC)

My houses are oddly connected...
- I did not complete high school (quit after the first semester, personal reasons)

- I did go to vocational schools and obtain my diploma afterwards, as well as enrollment in nursing school to become an RN - which I also could not finish (because of travel)

- My interests in higher learning, philosophy, and cultural communications and connecting, is extremely high

- I have Moon-Saturn opposition - I'm emotionally tied to and obsessive with my 9th house pursuits, although I prefer to keep the emotionally side of myself out of it the best I can, sometimes this causes trouble in other areas though - luckily I have bQ Moon-Jupiter-Mercury-Neptune as an outlet for those aspirations and obsessions - a creative outlet

- home, family, friendship, the past and the future are my primary concerns when I decide to take on a new intellectual/academic pursuit - but spiritual and emotional connection is always present as well. My Moon trines my Sun in Capricorn h5 exact, Sun rules 12th house.

--------------------

I don't want to go on and on~ haha

--- the houses may be empty - but you have a plethora of aspects in your chart that explain what roles that house plays in your life and how you will exhibit their traits, and what will ultimately influence the rest of the corresponding houses/rulers.

You are a sunny person, an emotional person, and a curious person... you may not have the same strong urge to obtain some societal recognition for the things you believe or learn... but you are an avid learner in the school of life! It's not a bad thing, although you probably had a lot of difficulty and differences with the education system in years past... sure, that's to be expected with those placements... but you seem pretty interesting to me, and you have a lot of potential for growth, and a really great mixture of cardinal and fixed energy within you - you seem very friendly based on your chart... and as my father always said, "book smarts aren't everything, kid". lol

So from what you've stated, your chart represents you well, I'd say. I also wonder if you are an animal-lover too, with that crowded 6th house! lol Do you work with critters, or ever thought about doing so? Your either a people person, and possibly a tad of a "people pleaser", not in a bad way -but that you like to help others when you can and would rather be useful to the people you care about than worry over people who shouldn't really matter at all (in your mind), and/or you are an animal person, who probably reads animals quickly and they are probably taken with you as well. As a 6th house Aquarius stellium~er... I do not doubt you are intellectually vibrant - but you are probably unconventional and quirky. ~that's a good thing~^^

Sorry for rambling!

lovely chart- swampys! <3
