I've been curious about this for a while: How do squares between placements in Geminii and planets in Virgo work since both signs are ruled by Mercury? Are the squares less "squarish"? If you have one of these, how do you feel it and how does it work for you? Anyone?

VERY FUNNY.

I have my Mars in Gemini squaring my Moon in Virgo.

I have lots of nervous tension and anxiety all the time. I feel that I don't get what I want in personal relationships. I am wondering if the moon mars square has anything to do with it. Virgo is very pedantic, Gemini is very active. I feel hyperactive sometimes and other times very critical and low energy. The energy drop can be scary.

I don't know if that is what you meant by the virgo/gemini square

I have Virgo Sun Square Gemini Moon.

Maybe this square is less squarish? When I read the generic sun square moon description, it doesn't seem to fit. However, I'm entirely not sure how it works for me.

It's almost like I am a very detailed oriented Gemini (But this could also be because my chart ruler is the moon) or I flip back and forth between how the mercury comes out. Sometimes I need a routine. Sometimes I hate it. Sometimes I am bit nit picky. Most of the time I am not. Maybe these are the negative parts of the square? One thing I am really good at is seeing the big picture and the little details and looking at something at every possible angle... always.

I can say for sure is I can feel the Mercury. xD My mind never rests, nervous energy is high. It's also like I'm an intellectual badass. lol jk

Yah, it is! Where is your Mercury by sign and by house? Do you feel it when Mercury goes retrograde? Is that when you feel the energy drop?

Mercury in the 3d, I have a whole stellium in the 3d. I get bad headaches when it goes retrograde, I feel disorganized and that for me is a huge NO NO because I am Virgo Moon and I LOVE being organized and clean.

Hmmm. This is enlightening. I think I was assuming that sharing Mercury as a ruler would make the square feel less stressful, but instead it seems like the square is placing that stress on the Mercury! Does this sound like a way to describe how this manifests?; the square puts your Mercury under stress? And would you agree that you can feel it any time Mercury goes retrograde?

Sure I could agree with that.
The mercury activity also gives me a lot of stress and sleeping problems.

Sleeping problems?

Interesting. I have the worst sleeping issues. I just don't that often. I'm surprised I function half the time but I do very well and it scares me.

My Gemini Asc is squaring my Virgo Venus. Not sure how this works out though.
My mercury is also in Virgo btw.
Interesting topic!

Gemini ASC sq Virgo Moon.

Yeah, I can feel that one very well.
The fact that both signs are ruled by Mercury doesn't make the square any less problematic, for me.

I'm a creature of habit and love comfort. Security is like my highest priority and anything that's out of my comfort zone tends to freak me out. Also, I tend to be very moody and unstable in relationships (Moon sq ASC makes it sq DSC, doh).

Gemini wants to have fun, be friendly and laugh and make connections, while Virgo wants to be selective, doesn't want to waste time and gets straight to the point.
Reliability VS head in the clouds; organisation VS disorder; funny VS serious; and so on. I am very changeable and feel like I don't have a stable personality

The dispositor, Mercury, is in Scorpio in the 6th and has no aspects save a conjunction to the Sun.

I used to be very nervous, anxious and high-strung - particularly because of obsessive ideas (Scorpio). Now I'm more relaxed and less tense, but I do get hyper-reactive sometimes. I'm either way too excitable or very apathetic. Kind of in extremes.

But one thing that's common between Gem and Virgo is the thirst for information and mental stimulation. It's like I always read something, say something, listen to something, etc. Very busy mind.

Thanks Doux, this is actually so insightful! I make a split between those two all the time. And I am really insatiable when it comes to information. I should be chained in a work out room or something, lol.
How would Virgo Venus add to a square between Gem Asc? Or is that where you keep looking for something to be perfect? (Like in the arts for example)?

A couple of them:

Gem Sun sq Virgo Pluto
Gem Merc sq Virgo ASC

Note that my Sun ad Merc are conjunct by 6 degrees and both sq my Pisces moon, and this forms a mutable t-square with Pluto. Fun!

Nervousness, low threshold for stress and hypersensitivity, mentally and physically, are issues. I'm highly prone to nervous exhaustion when dealing with social situations and have chronic problems with anxiety (I'm actually dx'd with Asperger's Syndrome and PTSD) and have experienced two major episodes of nervous exhaustion that were essentially "breakdowns". I can't drink alcohol past very small amounts--I don't tolerate it well at all. I experience a lot of adverse effects from drugs that effect my brain or nervous system: SSRIs have made me suicidal, and I can only take opiates/opioids, antihistamines and muscle relaxants in smaller doses than is typically RX'd because that's all I can tolerate.

I find the Gem-Pis squares in my chart far more easier to handle than the Gem-Virgo ones. I once read an astrologer's interpretation of Gem Merc sq Pis moon that supported my own experience: contrary to the cookie-cutter descrips of Merc-Moon sqs being liars and fakers, this astrologer got how the duality and mutability of Gem and Pis together really softens that sq and makes these two signs merge more readily than with any other Merc-Moon combo, despite it being a sq. I experience that same kind of merging with my Gem Sun/Pis Moon sq but it's has taken longer for me to be comfortable with as it deals with making my moon open via my Sun's energies and my Pisces moon's pretty wounded.

On the other hand, my Sun-Pluto square is quite a burden. It can make dealing with others very problematic. There's a lot of themes of tearing down and building up again in my life and that can be alienating for a lot of people. Also, most, nearly all, very significant people in my life have died. Grief and death are big themes too. There's a deep, ambiguous sense of coming into my own, of transforming into something very much beyond this reality, but it seems so total and overwhelming at times. And kind of frightening. I scare myself sometimes when I look deep within. And with this involving Gem and Virgo I have the contradictory reaction of "Let's analyze this and figure this out" fighting against "Let's run away and think happy thoughts!" This square is definitely a square.

My Merc sq ASC is...well...le sigh. I freak people out with this one. Some astrology types who meet me think "Oh you're definitely an earthy type" even though there's a lack of earth in my chart. But with my ASC squaring my chart ruler, I can be extremely Virgoan in how I communicate, or extremely Geminian. And usually as first meetings, it's the Virgoan who comes out the play. Once they get to know me, my Geminian style of communication will come out is spades.

When I'm dealing with others, communicating and relating, I tend to be either/or due to this square and it weirds people out because they never know which one I'll be. There's so much tension from this square when I'm dealing with other that it can only act out in extremes like this. But here's the even weirder thing:

When I'm alone, all that tension dissipates and the two merge, not unlike my Merc-Moon square. In my own thought, the Geminian and Virgoan are like dance partners and they work effortless as a team. But showing THAT side of me to others is very, very hard. It takes a lot of time for me to get comfort with someone before I can, or it takes a very unique individual who "gets" that side of me, and that has happened so rarely in my life, largely due to my Sun-Pluto square.

My moon in gemini squares my virgo sun, virgo mercury, virgo venus aaaand virgo saturn. My moon falls in my 3rd house and all my virgo planets fall in my 6th house. How does it feel? My mind never shuts up. All that virgo wants stability (yes I crave it) but I never seem to have it. Bc my mind just goes and goes.....I have a lot of restless mental energy to burn on a daily basis. If I don't have something to do physically, then my mind will find something to think about. I desparately need routine and I'm more comfortable with routine that complete chaos which drives me nuts but at the same exact time I'm completely bored with doing the same things over and over. I can't win. In relationships, I find I'm never really satisfied. The men I've dated were attractive to me but did not provide me with enough mental stimulation in the long run. I was married to a taurus for 8 yrs and I loved his stable taurus energy but he bored me to death and I found the tv more exciting than him :P So its either/or. Either my moon gets satisfied and they end up irritating me bc of lack stability thanks to all my virgo in my chart, or my venus is satisfied and they are boring. *sigh*

Virgo AC square Gemini MC. I want to learn many various things but at the same time the Virgo in me desires to be perfect at them which can be a little problematic since a day has only 24 hours.

I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy.
