I think there has to be Uranus involved (in synastry or natal). Uranus on the cusp of the 7th house (I have that), Uranus in the 7th house, Uranus-Venus aspect (I have a trine) or aspects between Uranus and the ruler of the 7th house cusp.
I think hard aspects (conjunction?, square , opposition) would make a person reckless in choosing a marriage partner.The softer aspects (sextile, trine) would only make them attract "interesting" and independent people.

But marriage may not always be a sudden change. It could be something that slowly comes to pass, perhaps after many years of co-habiting. Would Uranus still be involved?A related question, one which does mark a sudden change - what transits signify a meeting with a prospective partner? IP: Logged |

If two people are together for 5 or 7 years and they decide to get married and plan the marriage for a year than is not sudden. If they decide to elope and get married in Las Vegas then I think Uranus would still have to be involved. If you meet somebody and marry him after 2 days or 2 weeks , Uranus would probably be there. I don't have my exact birth time, but I know Uranus was in my 7H when I got married. My husband and I got engaged after one date and married five months later...we would have married sooner, but our families objected. t Uranus was conjunct his n Chiron when we got married. t Neptune was on my natal Mercury at the time.  t NN was square my natal NN, 1 degree orb. (Also square his NN with a wider orb.) His Saturn is conjunct my natal Venus. When we got married...t Pluto, t Juno, and t Chiron were conjunct this conjunction (how else can I say that?) I wasn't following astrology back then and didn't plan or pay attention to any of this. So it's funny that on the day we picked for our wedding, t Venus and t Saturn were tightly conjunct...the moon joined them at the hour we said our vows. Also that day, the sun was conjunct my natal Vesta (devotion asteroid) and t Lilith was conjunct my NN. t Vesta was conjunct his n sun-Uranus. t Mars was conjunct his NN and t NN was conjunct his Mars. YoursTruelyAlways is like the poster child for the Uranus/Sudden marriage theme...I've read so many posts of his talking of how he suddenly met and married his wife of now 20 years or so. He has Uranus in Virgo in the 7th house, his wife has Venus in Virgo tightly conjunct his Uranus in his 7th house. I'm sure the combo of their syanstry and his natal placements set off this scenario. ^ Our first child came less than 9 months after the wedding, only because my son was born early. We were religious, so people were suspicious that we got a head start. We didn't, though. I thought it was funny seeing the church people look worried about it.

couldnt there be something else other than uranus transiting the 7th house? since it is a planet that changes every 7 years..very slow-moving...and, sudden marriages happen plenty of times to many people of differing ages, then...there has to be something more...
i mean, last time uranus transited my 7th house...i wasnt even born, and next time...let's just say ill prolly be dead by then. what about in synastry? which aspects to look for other than YTA's example? IP: Logged |

Uranus making a hard aspect to the ruler of your 7th house by progression or transit would do it. Perhaps Uranus conjuncting any angle in your chart, after all, marriage would be a status change, too. IP: Logged |
