in 8th house matters, this might be how my venus conjunct chiron plays out. opp saturn/neptune/uranus.
i'm more of the latter. but not extremely.. i'd just say i lean masochist

my boyfriend has his venus right next to mine conjunct chiron opp saturn and uranus but not neptune. his venus is in his 7th house. he would prefer the former (as far as 8th house matters go)

just because of this - i would assume it would have to be either 8th house or the venus/neptune or both.

as far as in general life and my relationship in general, i really won't tolerate pain and certainly don't like it.

Pisces Sun (house ruler) in 8th conj Lilith is what I suspect is primarily responsible for this.

Although Deja is conjunct my Chiron (not in 8th house), I do not derive pleasure from people inflicting pain on me.

I think masochism, like sadism, can manifest in so many ways. If people cannot find appropriate expression for it, it can manifest as being in abusive relationships or constantly playing the "victim" role.

Sado does nothing particularly fancy in my chart, and I was involved in exclusively sadomasochistic relationships for 13 years...although, as I mentioned, I don't enjoy pain, and in my everyday life I am not and have never been particularly submissive. Mostly just in romantic relationships...and even then, it primarily only manifests in...uh...private.

Hm. I have about equal elements in my chart. Slightly less air, but not particularly heavy in any element (if that's what you meant).

I can, however, see earth heavy people as being more controlling, and thus more inclined to be the "dominant" person in those relationships.

So, I wonder if we could say the sadist types would be the controlling ones--chart wise. IOW, many of the same elements of a sadist could be of a controlling person but not the sexual part, of course.

Does anyone know what I mean

I can see the water heavy person being controlling as well. I did have one relationship with a Scorpio Sun, Cancer Moon, Pisces AC...and although he was not controlling in daily life, he was most certainly sadistic and controlling sexually.

I highly doubt that without my Sun (i.e. my chart ruler) in Pisces in the 8th house, conjunct the asteroid that is known for sexual taboos, I would have quite the sexual tendencies that I do.

That's just my personal opinion. I believe that the oppositions probably add to that, but without that particular placement I think it would be far less pronounced.

It feels as though I *want* a tug of war with a partner, and wish to be conquered.
I am capable of finding the other person's anger very arousing, provided it's not actually destructive.

I believe that it also creates a tremendous level of jealousy and possessiveness, and general argumentativeness. It's almost as though I'm daring the other person to "shut me up".

It's honestly an exceptionally annoying placement to have, as my relationships are never calm, regardless of how much I meditate or pray, or try to avoid angry confrontations. It seems to just be a part of who I am, which is annoying.

Simultaneously, I have, more often than not, found myself in relationships where Pluto and Venus are either opposite or square in our synastry.

I really appreciate you sharing this, Violets.

Not trying to be disagreeable, but that is a strong placement for me sexually, and it does seem to add up perfectly, perhaps with an added boost from the oppositions.
