Hi,

How does the progressed chart affect a person for the current year? What are progressed charts used for? Is it best to listen to that chart's moon, ascendant, and sign for the current year?

I will always proclaim that I'm not an expert at this stuff.

I can't believe it's had no replies.

Anyway, from what I gather is it's what you're evolving to.
I did some research and this is the way it was described, which made sense to me.

Lets say you were born and raised in Paris, France. (natal chart) Then, you move to New York City, US. (Progressed Chart)
You learn and adapt to New York City. You take on that typical personality, learn to navigate it and much of it becomes a part of you. It's sort of natural for you after time. But you'll ALWAYS be French at heart. Paris will ALWAYS be "home". Paris will always be more natural.

Great, my post vanished...

Sun moves a degree per year, and Moon 12.5, Venus is somewhat slower that Sun,Asc changes 2-3 time in a lifetime.

Aries vs Taurus. You like sport and suddenly all you want to do is make money - energy goes where your mind flows. You evolve, grow up, progress, hence the Progressed Chart. This is not to say that your lose you natal potential, you just spin the energy differently.

Also, progressions tend to be overlooked, in favour of transits. I notice them, but I also pay attention.

^I like what VenusDiSirius said. You just kinda...shift here and there and become something new and aim somewhere new, etc.

Moon is especially fun to look at: it's like periods of your life where you start to focus on different things. An earth progressed Moon will probably a period of development and introversion while fire progressed Moons, you'll start to feel restlessness and desire to start and do stuff.

How long do progressive charts last. Is there any planets that affect progressive charts?

Can the rising sign in your progressive chart determine the house your sun sign is in?

When my pMoon was in Virgo (and ruling MC) there was a dramatic shift in my popularity, that even I, who doesn't care much for mundane BS, noticed it.

pMoon in Libra, over my Asc. I was bubbly. I kid you not.

They last... Forever!

Yes, transiting planets.

No.

I have my progressive moon in Pisces, and Ascendant in Aries. My natal ascendant is in Aquarius.

I have both progressed Sun and Moon in Scorpio.. It's such a drag. Enough already. I want to be shiny and bubbly.

Counting the months until my pMoon is in Sag - but I'll be waiting awhile for the pSun to get their.

On a more positive note though, I have my pMoon coming up to conjunct natal venus? Anyone had that happen before? Was it good?

Also anyone had pVenus conjunct natal Neptune? Is it good for love and romance? Or bad in that I'm going to be deceived and heartbroken?

You compare Progressed Chart to natal - don't look at it separately.

Maybe Uranus Sq Pluto is affecting your Aries Asc in some way (if with a degree orb)?

My progressed is pretty interesting I think.

Venus, Uranus, North Node, Ascendant ALL conjunct each other. Uranus conjunct Moon. All are Scorpio 1st house except Venus which is Scorpio still in the 12th. Some sites say the moon is also conjunct those too except Venus. Astro.com does not though.

Sun (Libra) conjunct Mercury (Virgo)and Pluto. (Libra)
Sun/Mercury trine Jupiter.
Venus (scorpio) conjunt Mars (Libra)

I'm sure there are more than one way to calculate but this is the way I know, which matches up with astro.com

For every YEAR that you are old, add one DAY to your birth information.

So if you're born Dec. 1st and you're 20 years old. You enter Dec. 21st.

I can relate when my pMoon was in Scorpio I was very intravert and depressed. Now its moving through Sag and I even hardly recognise myself, I suddenly started to enjoy life more, involve myself in travel a lot.
What could pMoon in Capricorn bring? I think I will dislike that one but it's coming...

And what if progressed Sun makes a square with natal Moon? Can it affect relationships in my life?

Yep - that's what I'm talking about. I cannot wait until my moon is in happy, bright and enthusiastic Sag. Only 16 months to go.

Success, material satisfaction, and realization/manifestation of long term dreams...if you've been working at it. Or should you pick it up during this period.

Austerity. Capricorn also has a lot to prove. That he can get by with less is a point he finds worth proving.

Responsibility and longterm commitments may come knocking at your door as well.

I feel like a kid with a pirate map pSag Moon is all sorts of epic.

Yes, pSun sq nMoon - changes, changes, restlessness. Very important moments in your life, new platform to rise from.

I have Cap Moon natally, so I guess the progression will be different for me. Scorpio and Cap are naturally compatible yet I didn't like pMoon in Scorpio one bit. The same horror stories apply to pMoon in H8.

^ I have an 8H moon natally...one long horror story.

Ok so I just drew up my progressed chart, and I am not too surprised to find an exact moon-Saturn conjunction in Cancer.

This thing forms a t-square with Cap Venus-Mercury and Aries Jupiter-Chiron, all aspects within 7 degree orb.

Bummer.

Oh yea, I have the pr Moon-Saturn-conjunction in Cancer, too right now (13 degrees).

But since progressions are a predictive tool, the orb is usually set to 1 or at most 2 degrees.

Thanks Ceri, you always keep us reasonable

So all I've got is 27 Cancer Moon-Saturn opposing early 28 degree Cap Mercury.

Is it too big a question to ask how you use progressions as predictive tools? I assume when a planet transits 27 Libra or Aries, it will spark the t-square and dramatize an event or mood?
