Does each rising sign have two "types".. or manifestations - one more quiet and introverted - and the other louder and outgoing?

Hannarama mentioned this about Gemini ASC. I was wondering if it can apply to all ascendants...

My hunch is that it depends on the chart ruler (the planet that rules the ASC)... in particular the sign it is in.

For example, a person who has Cancer ASC and Moon in a fire or air sign -- could be pretty different to a person who has Cancer ASC and Moon in a water or earth sign.
This might be why there seem to be two "types".. one more masculine (ruled by a masculine sign planet) and one more feminine (ruled by a feminine sign planet).

Do you relate to this? Post your ASC sign and the planetary ruler of your ASC. Would you say you are a more mellow version of that ASC, or a more outgoing/in your face version?

And if you know others who share your ASC - Are they similar to you? Can you see differences in your personalities/appearance depending on the separate rulers of your Ascendants?

I personally don't think all ASC have two types - just the mutable ones. The other ASC energies have firm energies and mutable isn't which is why it's so flexible.

My mom has gem asc 0 degrees cancer mercury.
She's still luminous with sun conjunct asc but kind of subtle and quite.

I use to snicker as a kid when my mom would talk on the phone because she would just be silent and being like mhmmm mhmmmm hmmm mmmmmmmm mhmmm mhmmm lol

Saying nothing defeats the whole purpose.

Why 2 types of ascs?

I don't get it.

That's why they are called mutable signs.

They are more likely to adapt, change, adjust to their surroundings, modify their behaviour. If a mutable asc is accompanied with a cardinal sign moon or sun in a natal chart, the person will be more likely move willingly towards the change, if a mutable asc is with a cardinal moon but with a fixed sun, the person will experience clashes with his/her own ego, if it's a fixed moon, the emotional nature of the person may be at cross.

I have a cardinal moon, a cardinal asc, and a fixed sun, mercury, venus, and saturn. I won't change for anyone, but I will adjust for someone I love without changing who I am. Although it's not always a good thing to have planets in fixed signs.

Because the ruler is either masculine or feminine.

e.g.
Aries AC - Ruler is Mars... The person's natal Mars can be either in a masculine sign (air, fire) or feminine sign (water, earth).
Would an Aries AC with Cancer Mars be similar to an Aries AC with Libra Mars?

or...

Taurus AC - Ruler is Venus... The person's natal Venus can be in say Pisces.. Would they be similar to a fellow Taurus AC who has Aries Venus?

I'm just wondering if people have noticed pattern.

Virgo rising, Sagittarius Mercury. Introverted and quiet is my default. I have no problem talking to strangers (but I rarely initiate it) and I can get chatty.

I'm sooo happy! I mean, cappy.

I have Gemini rising and my Mercury is in Virgo (3rd house ruled by Leo). I definitely am not introverted. I'm the full embodiment of a Gemini rising--talkative, sociable, and energetic.

Okay.

So you meant the dispositor of the ascendant.

That is if the ascendant is a mutable sign with its ruler positioned in a fixed sign, say. I'd guess the person could come across as easily influenced when in reality he or she isn't. The ascendant sign represents our disguised or masked attitude as opposed to the real deep rooted personality components that represent the ruler of the ascendant, the sun and moon signs and of course the placement of the other planets. To answer your question, these people will definitely have different personality with one common component that is represented by the ascendant. They will share certain mannerisms or attitudes.

Mars is a masculine planet, that rules a masculine sign. It is not the case for all planets, Venus is a feminine planet that rules Libra a masculine sign, Saturn is a masculine planet that rules Capricorn, a feminine sign. I personally look for how 'powerful' is the dispositor of the ascendant, whether it is exalted, detriment, and in which terms etc etc to determine how significant the ruler of the ascendant is in the person's life. If the ASC is ruler by Mars and if it is exalted in Capricorn, a feminine sign, (it's quite understandable that a masculine planet would find itself most comfortable in a feminine sign, isn't it not? ) the ruler of the ascendant is powerful and will certainly be expressed by the person. I've noticed men with a cappy mars fares much better in life than women with a cappy mars. My own observations. However if a person has a ascendant ruler in detriment, peregrine, combusted, the expression of the 'mask' that is represented by the ascendant will be affected.

Jupiter is another masculine planet, it is exalted in Cancer, another feminine sign.

Venus, although she is a feminine planet rules over Libra a masculine sign, where Saturn a masculine planet is exalted.

Taurus is the only sign that is purely feminine. Its ruler Venus, Moon is exalted in Taurus. But note that Mars is in detriment in Taurus. So there goes my theory of masculine planets faring well in feminine signs and vice versa.

Mercury is convertible, neither masculine or feminine. It is feminine when with feminine planets, masculine when with masculine planets.
