Do you treat them like conjunctions or oppositions?

Oppositions according to my minor stint in magi astrology years ago. I haven't formed an opinion on the contra parallel yet.

Thank you! I recently just came across this and I've read that some people see it as a conjuction and others see it as an opposition so I'm a little confused.

I have two contraparallels:

Sun/Venus
Moon/Mars

And Natally I have Sun conjunct Venus (wide at 8'12°) and Moon square Mars at 5'06°.

What are your thoughts on parallels and contraparallels? Have you found that they play a significant role in one's natal chart?

I consider contra-parallels oppositions and parallels conjunctions (all within 1degree orb.)

I consider both like conjunctions, just the contraparallel adds a bit more friction. But not really like an opposition.

What it is is a matter of level.

You have to bring things to a Three-Dimension level in your thinking.

When you have a Parallel, the two are at the same glassful level, or Parallel with one another.

Contra-Parallel is a sort of As Above, So Below sort of Aspect.

They are both the same distance from the Ecliptic at an Above and Below matching mark.

You would always consider the Planets with Aspects and Declinations as brought to your attention in a doubly emphasized manner, taking the calibre of the Aspects into consideration.

I have heard it said that a Contra-Parallel should be read as an Opposition.

As an aside, out of bounds Planets are those that go beyond every day limits of Declination.

Sun-neptune/uranus

But the Neptune is exact and uranus 1 degree.

Sun/Neptune contraparrel could explain the Neptunian energy I give off

I think contraparallels are like oppositions but a bit softer. They're definitely hard aspects though. Sun CP Neptune is the tightest aspect in my chart and it's not great. Sun P Moon is much easier to deal with (although they're also in MR so I'm sure that helps).

Do they Aspect each other?

Cause that's already doubly emphasized here.

Read the descriptions for your Contra-Parallel planets as Oppositions and see if they make sense.

I have Moon contra-parallel Mercury, totally fits the opposition description.

I also have Moon parallel Uranus and the conjunction description fits perfectly too.

Pay attention to your angle declinations too!

Sun opposite Neptune creates a dynamic and creative push-pull which drives them to achieve imaginative excellence. They have an ethereal, other worldly aura which attracts people to project their dreams onto them. They wear it well and make good clothes-horses for partners to wrap their fantasies around. They are prime candidates for projection. They seem to attract wounded and troubled partners who seek in them salvation. They may have supremely idealistic expectations in their love life, constantly searching for that perfect Soulmate to make them feel whole.

So true projection projection projection stop projecting things on to me..
but that could be Mars square Neptune too.
