Good question. Is this sign seen as traits to the other signs or is it a new sign itself? Does it even matter? Im curious about this too. People mention it and i become confused. What am i supposed to say? Lol IP: Logged |

Alright, this is just my perspective, but that 13th sign is bull. Astrology works perfectly fine without adding anything to it (for now, IME).IP: Logged |

The 13th sign CANNOT logically work in Tropical Astrology (in fact, the constellations have nothing to do with it), so if you're wondering about it for that, just forget about it because it's irrelevant to Tropical Astrology. Now Sidereal Astrology is another topic. Perhaps it "could" do something there, since the Sidereal Zodiac is the constellations which are on the ecliptic, and Ophiuchus touches the ecliptic... so maybe. IP: Logged |

I knew he had a new account, but I'd forgotten what his username was. Hopefully he'll see this thread and educate the OP.

Yes i agree. Plus there are other constelations around the ecliptic and the "13th" sign would have been included years ago if it was meant to be? It has been around for a while just seems pointless to be adding it in there "all of a sudden". IP: Logged |

The 13th sign is CRAPHere’s why… Even though the signs are named after 12 constellations, the boundaries of the signs themselves are actually not defined by the constellations at all. The boundaries of the signs are defined by Earths cycle around the Sun, with the cardinal signs starting on the equinoxes and solstices. Zero Aries starts on one equinox (Spring in the Northern Hemisphere, Autumn/Fall in the Southern Hemisphere). Zero Libra starts at the other equinox (Autumn/Fall in the Northern Hemisphere, Spring in the Southern Hemisphere). Zero Cancer and Capricorn each take a solstice (Zero Capricorn has the Winter Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, and the Summer Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. Zero Cancer has the Summer Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, and the Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere). The ecliptic has been sliced up into signs according to these seasonal points because, as we know, the tilt of the Earth causes the seasons to happen as it rotates around the Sun. Conclusion, the fact that there is a constellation called Ophiuchus has no impact on the order of the zodiac. There are many constellations out there and not all of them have a sign named after them. The 13th sign is crap.

no such thing...as the 13th sign. Reminds me of an old samurai tale. There were twelve chief samurai and a 13th person claimed to also be a chief samurai. All the other samurai descended upon him with their Kitanas and showed him why there were only 12 samurai. Never again did someone claim to be the 13th warrior.IP: Logged |

Ever since I heard about the "13th sign" I immediately just didn't buy it..instinctively it just didnt add up so I ignored. Great breakdown as to why, thanks. IP: Logged |
