When thinking about some people that I know, I don't think they talk as much as I would have thought, when thinking about some of their placements…
For an example my boyfriend got gemini mars and virgo mercury, and I would have thought he was the kind of type who was talking all the time, but he seems to have the most of his thoughts inside his head, and not really speaking them out loud…he likes to chit chat though, but I also find him quiet often.

I know a gemini sun girl with taurus mercury and cancer mars who isn't speaking a lot either.

But I also noticed than in some situations she does (same with my boyfriend) but it's still not in the same way as with other gemini types, that I noticed speaks a lot - ALL the time, and really seems to enjoy it, from smaller chit chats, to big talks about life.

But I don't really get it why some of these placement could still make a quiet person?

And what makes a person a talker/great communicator no matter what? Like the traits of a person who just really can't sh** up ever never?

I think for a person to be a big talker, there has to be an incentive for them to talk i,e a great topic, a receptive listener or their interest being sparked. Sometimes even the room temperature, mood and ambiance is key.

I don't know of people who just can't shut it, but I know of people who are extroverted but become a lot more withdrawn when the audience/atmosphere is hostile.

Communication is really a two-way street.

I've noticed that people with Jupiter aspects to Mercury are big talkers (especially the square, opposition and conjunction).

The Moon/Venus aspects to Jupiter people have a partner that talks a lot(Moon) or they find the ability for a partner to converse about anything, very attracting (Venus).

I,for instance, have Sun-Jupiter conjunct and am a chronic drifter.I live in my head a lot

So,when I meet people that have their personal planets aspecting my Sun-Jupiter planets by square/opposition or conjunction ,the floodgates open wide.I talk non-stop.

My cousin married a guy who has his Sun/Mercury conjunct these two planets and when we met, it was "words" at first sight.

So you also think it's a synastry thing?

I thought that because me and my boyfriend got a very close sun-mercury conjunction double whammy, that we would have so many things to talk about… his jupiter also sextiles my mercury, and I have jupiter square mercury and venus trine jupiter in my own natal. So I like to communicate a lot… and we do speak - but it's just not as much as I thought…
We even got mars-mercury double whammy too:S
But I notice we often think the exactly same, at the exactly same time, so we speak like we know each others exact thoughts:S
I don't know whether he speaks a lot with his other friends, but when I meet my closest friends we are non-stop talking for hours each time lol

i'm loaded with gemini...asc, sun, mars, NN
my merc is in taurus in the 12th and my moon is in capricorn.

i feel like i talk a lot when i first meet someone. my asc comes through. if i'm at a party i'm a butterfly.

but the more someone gets to know me, the quieter i get. i never pick up the phone because i hate talking on it. i prefer to be quiet in my home. and sometimes conversation is extremely draining. i love silence.

I'd say the following Mercury placements aren't big talkers in general:

Mercury in Taurus, Capricorn, Cancer, Pisces.
Earth and Water, yeah.
Scorpio is different because of its ruler Mars's nature, and Virgo is ruled by Mercury, so I tend not to include it, either.

I'd also connect this issue to the Moon placement. Although it is not very traditional, but I noticed it work quite a lot.

Can't ever shut up:
An active Sun, a not too introverted Moon, Mercury in Air or in Fire, especially Sagittarius. A well-aspected Mercury, especially if it has a nice tight aspect to Jupiter. Gemini, Aries, Sagittarius, Libra prominent in the chart. Mercury-Sun aspects have a certain effect, too.

For example, I have a Water Mercury in Scorpio, but my Moon is in Gemini and I have tight positive aspects Mercury-Moon and Mercury-Jupiter. My 3rd house of communication is one of my most prominent houses and it hosts my Jupiter. I can talk my way out of anything, I can talk about everything, and if I keep my mouth shut, it means I'm typing up a skype message or a reply on some forum. The way Moon affects it: it has to be interesting. I fall silent when it's not interesting and start typing away on my phone. I'm not into small talk much, either. I like a meaningful conversation or a fun one.
I also talk to strangers easily.)

I have a friend with Aries Moon in conjunction to Aries Mercury trining his Jupiter. He doesn't like long conversations sticking to the same topic, but if you two happen to stay the same house, you'd keep hearing his voice. His loud, adorably obnoxious voice. ) He is into short pops of conversation. They don't last, but they happen very often and he also tends to comment on other people's words even if no one invited him into a conversation.

In synastry, the most talkative synastry I personally saw was

Mercury conj Venus
Mars trine Mercury
Mercury trine Uranus (0 degrees)

Both had "talkative" Mercuries so they were alredy naturally talkative, but together... oh boy they couldn't keep their mouths shut. They discussed weather, news, their relationship, gossip... Dirty talk was also a thing.

I'm like this. I've always been "quiet".

Although Libra is my dominant sign and I have a Leo Moon, I don't exactly talk alot (but I can very easily be social and meet new people). I guess I'm more of an listener/observer.

My Sun, Venus, and Mercury are in the 4th house.

Do you have anything in pisces or a prominent neptune?
The most libra people I know are good listeners, but I do know 2 male libras both with leo moon, and none of them are especially interested in listening, but one of them is ok at it, but also likes to speak a lot(about themselves) and the other one is my brother, and he is not really speaking about others or himself, but everything else but that lol

Not really, I have Sun trine Neptune, Mercury square Neptune, Neptune in 7th, Pisces MC and Pisces Saturn. Maybe my Virgo Sun tempers it a bit?

Oh and another example.
Leo Sun, Gemini Venus, Aries Mars person - should be pretty talkative, right?

Nope. Cancer Mercury whose single aspect is a very wide conjunction to Sun in a different sign. If you don't accept such a wide orbis, then it's a feral Mercury.

This person has a blog in which she writes a lot and gets very confrontational if someone tries to argue with her, and if a friend asks a question, she'll answer in depth. But she's pretty quiet in general.

Hmmmm I might be wrong, but maybe they have basic planets on the 12th house. Usually they talk with their eyes, verbal communication is limited because they want others to understand things without speaking sometimes. I do have that, that's how I came up with the idea...

Well i am always the quietest person in the room, beyond my 12th pisces mercury I have mercury conjunct saturn and opposite chiron, so there's pain, fear, limitations and delays attached to my communication.

You havent mentioned houses or aspects though, so those probably explain why they're not as talkative as you thought they would be.

I have Mercury opposite Saturn and conjunct Chiron, lol. I can attest to the pain/limitations to communication. I'm usually the quietest in the room, too.

And I can also vouch for enjoying non-verbal communications with others, especially when I take a real liking to someone whether they know it or not. I have Moon and Mars in 12th. I like to talk with my eyes because I'd like to believe that someone, even if very few, can catch a glimpse of my emotions and my soul just by looking at me directly, like they just know - they understand. It's very comforting. I think I know someone who can do that with me, and it's almost...frightening. Sadly, it is not someone whom I can really form a bond with because of circumstances. But I know deep down he can just read me, through my eyes. We have an interesting synastry/composite, so I think that's why. But it's there.
