I spent my birthday in a foreign country, other than the one in which I originally reside. I have to stay here for about another a month.
Using the country I travelled to as a reference place, it puts my Moon, Uranus & SN in the 6th house.
It also gives me several 12th house placements.

I read the 6th house is the house of obstacles, enemies and worries.

So far I haven't had the best experience here. I feel imprisoned, suppressed and just really unhappy, and that's putting it lightly. I barely have any free will or freedom here. I've also gotten sick a few times.

Unfortunately I can't just go back to my original residing country yet. I have to stay here for another month or so with my family. It's for some stupid religious pilgrimage thing that my family dragged me to do. (They don't know that I am not religious by the way).
But if feels very stifling for me as I'm not used to the country's culture and customs either, and I have to go through with these rituals and rules that I don't believe in anymore. I can't wait to get away from here.

A lot of my Solar Return placements for here are quite bad and depressive.
I'm just wondering if they'll still effect me for the rest of the year, even if I were to go back to the country where I originally live?
Or would I have to change my reference place to my residence country, considering that's where my home base is?

The Solar return is calculated with the reference place and it will influence you for a year. Even if you had left immediately after your solar return, it would still affect you for a whole year.

I was supposed to have a great SR this year, but decided to spend my bday in another country and I got a bad deal out of it (I didn't check the astrology before..). My SR chart had Moon in the 12th and I lost my mom 2 months ago.

Hi, NV, and thank you! I only stayed a couple of days and didn't enjoy myself as much as I thought I would.

The way I came to think of this is that things happen the way they do for a reason. I wasn't aware how drastically my life would change this year, but these were experiences I needed to go through, though particularly rough. Thing is.. you can't avoid life and both good and bad are part of life. Just try to make the best of whatever comes your way (who knows, there might be a blessing in there after all - for instance a friend of mine was worried about Lilith in the 8th but got tantric sex out of it lol).
