Some posts were making me second guess rulership, exalted signs, etc. Some of those posts unfortunately have wrong info after doing some research.

Rulership
A planet posited in the sign it rules is said to be in its rulership, domicile, or home. Thus, it is able to totally fulfil its role, and it is most likely that its action plays out very positively.

Detriment
On the contrary, when a planet is in the sign opposite the sign it rules, it is said to be in detriment. Thus, its action is negative, misused, or non-existent or weakened.

Exaltation
A planet in a sign of a similar nature, but which it does not rule, is said to be in exaltation. The planet gets strength and energy from its exaltation, and thus, its influence is positive.

Fall
A planet in the sign opposite the sign of its exaltation is said to be in fall. Therefore, contrarily to the exaltation, the planet loses its strength and influence.

Here is the rulership list:

The Sun

Rulership in Leo, exaltation in Aries, detriment in Aquarius, fall in Libra.

The Moon

Rulership in Cancer, exaltation in Taurus, detriment in Capricorn, fall in Scorpio.

Mercury

Rulership in Gemini and Virgo, exaltation in Virgo too, detriment in Sagittarius and Pisces, fall in Pisces too.

Venus

Rulership in Taurus and Libra, exaltation in Pisces, detriment in Scorpio and Aries, fall in Virgo.

Mars

Rulership in Aries and Scorpio, exaltation in Capricorn, detriment in Libra and Taurus, fall in Cancer.

Jupiter

Rulership in Sagittarius and Pisces, exaltation in Cancer, detriment in Gemini and Virgo, fall in Capricorn.

Saturn

Rulership in Capricorn and Aquarius, exaltation in Libra, detriment in Cancer and Leo, fall in Aries.

Uranus

Rulership in Aquarius, exaltation in Scorpio, detriment in Leo, fall in Taurus.

Neptune

Rulership in Pisces, exaltation in Leo (or in Cancer, depending on authors), detriment in Virgo, fall in Aquarius (or in Capricorn, depending on authors).

Pluto

Rulership in Scorpio, exaltation in Aries (or in Pisces, depending on authors), detriment in Taurus, fall in Libra (or in Virgo, depending on authors).

Important facts to note! I had no idea Pluto was in exaltation in Aries, now that's some fascinating stuff.. I've never really seen it referred to as such, but I guess Pluto really is the higher octave of Mars in that sense.

That's not a fact though, lol. It's just an opinion "depending on authors"

You mean on rulerships? I guess, it is kinda wild that some people still use ancient rulers for signs and still keep the outer planets out of the mix.. they add so much more depth to the signs!

Mhm, I mean the rulerships are pretty much accepted now as they are (although there is still some debate as to Pluto ruling Aries instead of Scorpio, which I personally find ridiculous). But the whole exaltation/fall thing, that's the tricky part.

Rulerships were determined centuries ago by observations related to the heliacal rising position. Today they can be defined by color frequency vibration (as per John Willner's work).

In sign of its dignity or 'rulership' a planet's vibration resonates harmoniously with that sign. Mars is the principle behind Aries. Both vibrate red. Here the planet is in its most natural expression.

In sign of its detriment, a planet is in a sign of least natural mode for its expression.

This is not good vs bad, merely whether the planet's energies can be expressed very naturally or are not. This is not a way of determining whether a planet's energies will be 'misused' or 'negative' or 'weakened' or 'non-existent'. That is to personify the planets in the act of predicting human behavior from this alone.
