Hi all,
I've been looking at my chart, and I noticed the other day that I have quite a lot of crosses and T-squaring going on. I seem to have what are two grand crosses (yes, 2), which are aspected this way:

1. midheaven sq jupiter sq uranus sq venus
where midheaven is opposition to uranus and venus opposite jupiter
all mutable signs

2. midheaven sq jupiter sq uranus sq ascendant
where midheaven is opposite uranus and ascendant opposite jupiter
all mutable signs

If that isn't enough, I seem to have discovered three T-squares in my chart, which are:

1. venus sq moon sq jupiter
jupiter opposite venus
burden being on the moon
all mutable signs

2. ascendant sq moon sq jupiter
jupiter opposite ascendant
burden being on the moon once again
all mutable signs

3. moon sq venus sq neptune
neptune opposition moon
burden being on venus
moon and venus are mutable but neptune is in a cardinal sign, so not quite a pure T-square

So, as can be seen, I have quite a lot of this mutable conflicting energy going on and it looks really scary. From what I've read, crosses and T-squares seem to have difficulties associated with them. Normally people may have 1 T-square or 1 grand cross, but not this many in one chart! Is there anyone who can help interpret what this means for me and how I can somehow use them to my advantage if possible? Is it as bad as it looks? Or maybe I'm making a mountain out of a molehill?

Don't over exaggerate the negative aspects of your chart! This will just send you spiraling into a world of negativity and make things worse. Double check your orbs to make sure that they aren't too widespread, since Astro.com (if that's what you're using) can assume certain aspects to be true even though they're outside of the orb.

I don't think it's a problem; I have five natal T-Squares myself, all in fixed signs (except for dissociate saturn), along with two mystic rectangles.

Grand-Crosses are believed to be the toughest of all aspect patterns. This is because there's absolutely nowhere for all this tension to go since it's only squares and oppositions. Being in mutable signs though does make it easier to deal with, since unlike fixed signs, you're more willing to adapt to changing circumstances in order to fix the issue. If there's good aspects these planets make to other planets, perhaps there's a way you can channel this energy constructively through that specific planet (trines, sextiles).

T-Squares are also difficult. They are usually seen in successful people because this is also a stubborn aspect. Because you're not willing to give up until you fix the problem, you bring yourself to success in the end. Some astrologers also refer to them as being like a three-legged chair; you know where the problem is, now you can fix it.

Look to the planets involved and see if they make any harmonious connections with other planets. Also, look at what signs they're in. From here, I suggest trying to find some way to channel this tension in a constructive format so that you can ease the amount of tension within.

This is just my assumption though. Hopefully someone more experienced in this field can help

Yep, I read just recently that mutable crosses and T-squares are the easiest as they are the most adaptable. I did use astro.com to find out my aspects. A big problem of mine is the fact that oftentimes I can procrastinate, which I hate. I wish I could be persistent about whatever I choose to put my mind to and not give up until I achieve it. Instead, I work in bursts where I need frequent refuelling along the way to the finish line lol, and I wonder if part of it is cause of these crosses and T-squares (not making excuses, just trying to understand it is all). Sometimes I can just be very unfocused and my mind can wander.

Well you do have a Moon opposite Neptune aspect, which can describe some form of mental drifting. You're emotions are probably very foggy and you can sometimes be susceptible to emotional self-delusions due to Neptune's influence. Neptune's influence can also make you quite the daydreamer, since that's what neptune is. However, you can direct a lot of this energy to some sort of creative out-let so that it doesn't distract you all the time.

Which planets are in Gemini? The procrastination issue could possibly be linked to Gemini and Sagittarius, but I'm not sure of what to go off of since I don't know the sign placements of the planets themselves.

Here's my chart below:

:REMOVED:

My moon and midheaven are in gemini,
venus and ascendant in virgo
uranus in sagittarius
jupiter in pisces
neptune in capricorn (the only non-mutable one)

Sometimes my mind can be very foggy!

I think grand crosses is better than t-squares because you already got the energy you need within you, where as a t-square you miss that energy within you, and has to struggle to learn how it is.

I also got a lot of t-squares, and not a full grand-cross (but almost). Perfect grand-crosses is pretty rare I think...

Persons with a lot of t-squares and grand crosses becomes much more experienced in life, compared to others, because they learn everything the hard way. The older they get, the better. They get experience because they dare to make mistakes. There is a lot of energy, and often it comes out the wrong way... but thats also how you learn to get better.

So life might not be easy, but its not boring either :P

Basically T-squares and grand crosses are like the school of hard knocks LOL. I'm not sure how perfect my grand crosses are, but they're all in mutable signs, so that's one thing. Things in life don't come easily for me, I can say that for sure. For instance, where others have gotten jobs through connections (never worked for me. I got interviews, but never an offer), I got jobs the hard, or generic way (see a job ad online and apply and cross my fingers). I guess it's more rewarding that way, and no one can accuse me of getting help from friends or Mummy and Daddy (for instance a cousin of mine got a job through her dad, not that there's anything wrong with that. But when she got into a heated argument with her boyfriend, he got below the belt with her about that and told her she was nothing special because she got help. Maybe she deserved it, I don't know as I wasn't witness to the argument, but I never want something like that thrown in my face ever, whether deserved or not). Sometimes it's as if I get the opposite outcome of what others would normally get when logic or even statistical probability would indicate that their outcome is more likely than mine, so I scratch my head and go "WTF?" North is South and East is West for me. I eventually get what I want, but it's never without kicks along the way. Never smooth-sailing.

Though wide, you have Moon Square Jupiter, this is a classic procrastination aspect, I can relate cause I have this aspect too and lots of Neptune making me escapist as well.

Isabel Hickey says of this aspect in her book, Astrology: A Cosmic Science:

quote:
"Moon Square Jupiter: Conflict between false pride and feelings; between conceit and emotions. Difficulties because of keeping-ness rather than giving-ness. Extravagance and self-indulgence need controlling. Can be lazy and procrastinating. Like Scarlet O'Hara: "I'll think about it tomorrow." A friendlier type of person, not antagonistic but indulgent. Diet is important for the liver can give trouble.

But yeah she's super blunt (the way I like) but not everybody does. Also needs to be taken in configuration with what signs the aspect is occurring in (in your case Gemini/Cancer cusp and Pisces making it difficult I'd say due to emotional nature of these signs and inherent indulgent nature of Pisces) and the rest of the overall natal, of course.

Haha I know the feeling... I have gotten a whole bunch of jobs through friends and family, but it's always been such low-paid, hard-working and not relevant jobs for my actual careeer...

If we are to get an actual career we have to work hard, and probably harder than most people, but when you realise that you also got the energy for it - go for it. With all those t-squares and grand-crosses life never gets boring, cause you'll dare to make the steps neccessary for success, we might just not get a golden handshake by anyone soon (but you never know)

I have learned with time and many hard times, that you should always stay open-minded and positive, especially towards people. Don't become negative and close of, and especially dont start thinking that everything is so unfair... when you give a positive energy out, you'll get it back

I know some of the most unlucky people I've ever met, are so positive and happy about the small things in life, and thats really inspiring In the end it's also more healthy for your mind and body to think in possibilities rather than what you cannot do... you can do whatever you want, you just have to be patient

That would explain it, and with my moon in Gemini and Jupiter in Pisces (which is self-indulgent, as you say), it makes things even more of a challenge. To be honest I'm surprised that I've achieved as much as I have, given I have a short attention span and can become demotivated at times.

That's the thing, in the face of challenges, I can get overwhelmed and sometimes I feel I just don't have the energy to fight. I quickly become pessimistic and think that life is just too hard. I know, it's horrible sounding isn't it?

You are definitely right about that. And that is another bad trait of mine. I think being raised in a family that is so negative, and having experienced a rather difficult childhood, it can get one down and see life in a very dark light, as if life is a serious obstacle rather than a rewarding game to play and grow in. As a result, I start thinking that things can be too much, and I even become tired of life sometimes. No, not suicidal (never suicidal), though sometimes I wish life would hurry up and I can just go already lol.

It definitely is, and that is what I've been trying to practice. And ANOTHER vice of mine is that I am NOT a patient person! (thanks moon in Gemini) I often feel restless and want results to happen NOW. HOWEVER, I have noticed a change in me in the past 2 years where I felt I was transforming both as a person and as a woman. It was magical, and I tried to harness it as best as I could. I started daring myself to do things that I wouldn't have done before, and started becoming more active. I've been undertaking hobbies that genuinely interest me and have become more comfortable in my own skin as I begin to understand who I am more. It feels like a fundamental shift within me. I was wondering why this mysterious change has been happening, and then I read by chance the other day that your Saturn return can do that, and I'm in the middle of my Saturn return. I have still another year or 2 and I intend to harness it as best I can so that I can transform into the best version of myself. Hopefully it will also bring me everything I've wanted. I'll see how it goes.
