Hi all!

Out of curiosity, having an aspect between Mercury and Uranus makes a person a genius or even a fast learner?

I've read in couple of websites they can be and may perceive some others slow or I should say "stupid" due to not exactly arrogance but the lack of understanding that some are not as a quick learner.

I have Mercury in Pisces (10th house) square Uranus in Sagittarius(6th house)by 4s degrees but this is not true for me. It had been quite the opposite. I have been known to be a slow learner and even get pointed I am stupid because I do not grasp concept easily I have to learn things on my own time, so I would spend more time studying because I could not understand what the teachers were explaining. Even during the meeting, I would have to re-ask what exactly they were trying to convey. Definitely not a typical Mercury/Uranus here. haha

My mercury do aspect other planets but at a greater wide orb:
Mercury conjuncts Jupiter in Pisces by 10a degrees
Mercury squares Saturn in Sagittarius by 9a degrees

There are barely any sites out there that elaborate much on these aspect and I am curious everyone's experience whether you have it natally or know/knew someone that has this.

I'm no expert in your aspects. Although I have recently learned that Mercury does not stand for "intelligens" per say it is merely a channel through mercury "shows" a persons intelligens

You have yours in Pisces. I'm guessing pisces would be best at grasping abstract things, visualizing things etc. For ex maybe mathematics would be harder for pisces to grasp?

I have mine in Taurus, Trine uranus, neptune oppo pluto.

I'm a slow learner. And things has to be explained thoroughly. Ones I truly understand something I have great memory. But abstract things like astrology I grasp more easily (uranus effect?) I have to imagine things in mental images or movies in my head (neptune) which is hard to do with math related things.

My best subjects in school are for ex Biology (I loove going into details, pluto effect maybe) history (again, details) etc. Those things I can easily learn fast and hold it in my memory for a looong time.

The thing with Mercury aspects to Uranus is; You have to feel very interested in the subject! You will not learn easily stuff you have no interest in. And yours is square uranus, which maybe makes it harder for you to take in stuff you don't feel interest or excitement for?

Mercury-Uranus makes one interested in the new. Mercury-Saturn slows down to detailed focus.

So i would say yes it would.make a fast learner. But also one who tends to "lose" that knowledge once its no longer interesting.

Saturn retains and builds on what is learned. Saturn does not learn to replace but to refine or revisit/re-evaluate what it already "knows"

Merc-Uranus the aspect with the tightest orb in my chart. Both @ 21 degrees.

I'm not a genius lol

But my mind NEVER stops. I have to practice meditation to get a grip on life.

I also think the aspect makes for more, I don't know what the right word is but the closest thing that comes to mind is more revolutionary thinking?

And I agree with Aries. I tend to lose interest in things quickly.

I have a very tight Mercury/Uranus conjunction. I'm a fast learner and also a fast reader.

I have Mercury trine Uranus as well as Mercury trine Neptune and Saturn. My Mercury is in Virgo.

I learn quickly, as long as I'm able to practice as well. It's no use to lecture me in class on a subject without also having practical application. I ask a lot of questions so that I know every angle of a subject. I've also noticed that I tend to learn subjects on a very deep, detailed level that tends to bore a lot of people when I start to explain details. (Did I also mention that I have Mercury sextile Pluto?)

whoa!!! I didnt expect this many to respond. Thank you!

@Melinn | You are right about that! I am better at understanding images instruction or watch people just demonstrate non-verbally me then hope for the best. I wasn’t the best at math and still not. I didn't understand subtraction/addition until I was 9 I believe. My dad would literally get frustrated when he tried tutoring me.
Then one day I self-study and discover my own method and own way how to understand math and eventually excel (A's in math) once I past that peak of struggle. I think this could be Uranus in play... Self-teaching and discover a different way to understand math which has to do with. I think you are right that the subject has to interest me but I do go through with it (maybe with the help with Saturn). Not sure if you experience this, I tend to be selective what I want to learn from a single subject. Prefer asking questions, what they is not related, but it helped me understand the subject. I do need to re-read things over in order to grasp it fully (Saturn again?) on learning what I am into. Also I hate reading in general  unless it is interesting enough. I was horrible in school but I am glad I survive, esp with English.

@Aries23Degrees I agree! When I see details that I think is important or I am interested, I read it over numerous time or thinking it over for a while and picture it in my head. I do see myself dropping an interest on a subject once I am done for but it remains in my brain, esp, if I re-read and I continue. For example, learning Korean characters. I stopped instantly after I see how the grammar is too hard but I still remember each character’s sound. I still use it so it could help but I don’t see myself continue studying Korean.

@bananaz I know that feeling. I can so relate. I am always thinking and not even just one topic. I say 3-5 topics but they somehow manage to come to one conclusion or I come off like I have problems focusing on one topic and it frustrates my friends. Some enjoy the random-ness. Hopefully I can be innovative because right now I am learning to code. I want to make an app sometimes soon!

@diamondbaby You lucky you! Haha I wish I can be but I am like the slowest learner among the sibling of 4. (My sis has the conjunction, my brother has the sextile, my other brother doesn’t have it but he makes it up by being resistance to drop learning). Only thing I get out of this is my fascination for wanting to learn many things at once.

@StubbornVirgo OMG! That’s me! Definitely feel you when I feel it’s no used for the professor to lecture because I would not understand it. I have to read or learn it on my own time/ask questions later that I think are important to me to help me understand the subject better.
@Ami Anne Yeah, definitely witness this with a few people but it isn’t the case for me 
