How many of you here are poor in Mathematics?
What aspects does your Mercury receive (if they receive any)?

I've always wanted to know why I was so bad in Mathematics, but intelligent in languages.

I have a lot of planets aspecting my Mercury btw. You would think that me having Mercury trine Uranus math would be my thing, but it isn't.

Here are my aspects:

Mercury Trine Uranus
Mercury Opp Saturn
Mercury Square Jupiter
Mercury Sextile Pluto

------------------
capricorn asc ♑
libra sun ♎
libra moon ♎
Triple Libran, 9th house Stellium in Libra :D

my s.o is a libra sun, cap ascendant, his mercury is aspected by Jupiter, uranus, neptune and pluto. He's good at maths. He has virgo moon though.

In general, virgos are good with numbers. People with lots of Neptune influence often don't care for maths haha.

I'm a cap, sag mercury conjunct sun and I love maths.

I find endless math drills boring but I like advanced mathematics. I have Mercury conjunct ascendant, Jupiter and Uranus sextile Venus trine Moon and quintile to planet Mars in house three.

I've never been really good at math but I do like math and numbers and formulas! It was never a natural skill, and was always something I had to work hard at. I love reading and learning about concepts and stuff though...applying them was just kinda hard.

Mercury in Libra/H3, sextile AC and square Uranus.

I was poor in mathemathics in both: elementary and middle school. Then I suddenly understood math and I turned one of the best ones of the generation at high school (math and physics). However, I never liked numbers, and I studied something that is not related with numbers and math.

(Libra Merc conj Mars) sq Saturn, Uranus, Jupiter, and Neptune

Without excluding other merc signs: I have personally seen that people who are really good at math and exact sciences have their Mercury in Scorpio, Aries, Capricorn, or Aquarius.

maybe that could be me - I have Neptune conjunct ASC and math = a foreign language. I have ZERO ability in it and no interest in learning it, and didn't even get past algebra in high school. it's still really hateful to me as an adult. but, all that talk about 'how you'll use math daily, etc' are lies - I've yet to use math in any 'real' way aside from banking and in my job - I just don't do it and leave that stuff to people with skills. I have tons of planets conjunct in libra.

I agree - I'm another person with Neptune on the ASC as well.

Starmoon, lol maybe you haven't, but I think many people do apply some basic principals of math in their daily life.
http://everydaylife.globalpost.com/use-mathematics-everyday-life-14225.html

But it's true, a lot of those stuff, you can get others to do it lol.

I have 12th house Neptune on my ascendant too. Lol I have a lot of 12th house stuff, but in the end it all comes back to Capricorn, so although I'm not a math fanatic, I still love it.

I have a hard time seeing a connection between Neptune and math. Math seems more Saturn/Uranian to me.
Neptune fogs while Saturn makes clear. So the Neptunian is apt to become confused by math, the Saturnian, on the other hand, is quite comfortable. Makes sense to them. Saturn is exalted in Libra, the sign of logic.

Anyone know names of some mathematicians? Here's a link to Einstein's chart. he's the most obvious. Yeah, yeah I know he's a Pisces sun. Notice how Mercury is in Aries conjunct Saturn o O

And he discovered a new theory...

Just like Twiggy has the Aries MC, chart ruler conjunct MC ruler on the ascendant and is known as the first supermodel? Aries is the sign of firsts.

Neptune I can see prominent in the charts of people writing weird fiction if it is aspect to Mercury.

Lemme use a calculator app and I can do math just fine.
Basic formulas are easy for me to understand, it's just logic..

but I make a lot careless mistakes using mental math.

You're gonna make me do algebra with out a calculator and got the answer wrong because It was off by one point.
So I hated math in school.

Math is a language! And exercise for your brain. You were bad at it because you didn't try to understand it or practice enough. That's all it takes, trust me. Some things come easier to others, but that doesn't mean you can't be good at it.

Mercury opp Moon
Mercury conj Venus
Mercury trine Jupiter, Uranus
Sun in 9th house, Mercury in 8th (both Taurus)

I was never that great at math. I almost failed Algebra 2 and Statistics...forget about it.

There are very few aspects of mathematics that I enjoyed, and when I understood something okay, most people did not and vice versa.

Retrograde Mercury in Capricorn
conjunct Sun
conjunct Saturn
conjunct Neptune
sextile Pluto
opposite Chiron
opposite ASC

I'm awful at Math, never met anyone worse at it. I just kind of fell behind on it really young and was never able to catch back up in school.

Aquarius Mercury on the Midheaven, no aspects other than a wide Mars opposition (that a lot of people probably wouldn't even count...)

------------------
Pisces Sun
Capricorn Moon/Venus
Taurus Ascendant
Aquarius Mercury
Leo Mars

I don't get any maths or logical thinking at all… I mean, even if I practice everyday for 2 months I'm only getting a D in Math at A level. I might be able to understand the big picture in maths, and I know when an answer is wrong and almost knows what the end is going to be (mercury square jupiter) but I don't know how to solve it, and I get confused if the task is too long (mercury square neptune) and I also lose focus very fast

I think people with flowing aspect between mercury-uranus, mercury-jupiter, mercury-mars will have an easy time…Being good at maths you need to be able to have a lot of numbers in your head, and hold many informations at once to collect them together - it's like a puzzle… aqua is the perfect problem solver, they are just always good at math at some point… and people with mercury-mars aspects have a well developed logical sense, so no matter what they will do fine, unless they have the mercury-neptune square:P

And my own mercury is libra square capricorn saturn, neptune and jupiter. And my mercury square neptune is completely 0 degrees lol. I could be a writer instead though!

I have Mercury trine Saturn and Uranus. Dunno why but in school I sucked at math. I rather enjoyed statistics in Uni. I blame the Rx motion of Mercury.

I would say I'm very good with numbers. From a young age, my parents and teachers noticed me to be very quick at working out calculations.
Although, I have become a little rusty over the years, I'm still rather quick.

Moon in Virgo trine Uranus in Aquarius. (6 deg)
Moon in Virgo opp Saturn in Pisces. (2 deg) (Surely any Moon-Saturn aspect is good for mental maths).

I also have a Gemini Mercury in 8th which is in opposition to Jupiter in Sagittarius, and then Uranus and Neptune conjunct in the 3rd house.

I really don't know if I'm good at Math, honestly.
I would say I'm fairly decent at mental math.
I sometimes catch my friends asking me math problems to solve. Either because they're lazy or they figure I'm good at it. Maybe a little bit of both, lol.

-Mercury in Libra in the 3rd House, Square Uranus (8 orb) and Neptune, Sextile Ascendant and Quincunx Saturn.

makes sense - Neptune also just makes us space out in classes we don't enjoy and start daydreaming of other things :-)
