Never heard of it but here's my shortened take on it. There's some that may have Venus square mars, or moon, or Saturn (whatever!) and take interpretations as "fate". Basically waving the white flag. Others may look at it and think, "this is a challenge but I'll take it on and get past it." Which is what I believe. With each aspect and placement, I believe that when you read an interpretation, not all of it necessarily applies. Charts, and people are very complex. Also, I think interpretations can be viewed as a general energy at play. What's the general theme of the aspect or placements?
Others grab onto every detail and throw their hands up, "That's it. I'm doomed to never find love." Etc. IP: Logged |

it`s utter nunsense. Planets are neither to be obeyed nor to be controlled, but what has to happen is to understand that they donīt MAKE you do anything or be anything any more than a clock MAKES the time. IP: Logged |

You can "control" any bad aspect and turn it in something positive if you know/have the ability of handling its energy in a way its good for you.No one has to sit and cry over his badly aspected chart, when they can turn it in something good.
I have a fixed cross so my chart is mostly ruled by oppositions and squares with a few trines and sextiles there and there. Life hit me hard many times, but i learned to balance my oppositions so i wont go to any extreme but in the middle, and squares became interesting conflicting but useful energy in my life. I disagree with that statement.You can't obey or control planets. You can only react. Your birthchart can't be changed, but you can work on actively directing the different energies at play into a positive outlet. Astrology is a blueprint or a guide. It creates another level of awareness. What we choose to do with that knowledge is up to us but we can't change anything about the planets that has already been in place. We can control what actions we take after analyzing the planets in play, but that's still not controlling or obeying the planets specifically. There are many different energies buzzing around at once so it's impossible to follow every one and react all at the same time. Our solar system controls us. We don't control the planets, the planets control us. Like the tides of the moon. The earth is covered in 75% water, therefore allowing the moon to affect its tides on the oceans' edges. Humans are 75% water.
The Human Brain alone is 75% water. The planets have an influence over humanity as a whole. The Universal in general. IP: Logged |

Its all in the phrasing. In a way "You can control it", assuming you know how the planets are operating at the current time and you manipulate the situation. However, I would advise against it as it can have unexpected consequences. Something might not go exactly according as plan, so I would say "controlling the planets" is a bad idea. ====================================

I like the idea that we, living beings and celestial objects, are all intertwined and conscious together somehow. The animist view of the universe.Richard Tarnas talks about it in Cosmos & Psyche. As for the subject line about "Fools obeying planets"...that's pretty harsh...but also in keeping with the current energy of transiting Mercury quincunx Pluto.

I don`t believe that planets have a consciousness as in that they aware of us humans and deliberately influence us one way or the other. The celestial constellations at a certain time are indicators of something, and serve as a symbolical mirror to what we experience, with a wide range of possible interpretation. THAT is where the phrase comes into play, even though I still think it is wrongly phrased. You can`t choose to have(or experience) a certain constellation in your chart or not, what you can choose (most of the times) is HOW to express it, within the range of possible interpretation. I guess I am not very funny today.  Tr Moon is applying to a square to Tr Saturn which conjuncts my Neptune after all (of course it means it also applies to conjunct Tr Neptune on my natal Jupiter - so maybe the fun will come later. lol) IP: Logged |

No. The only 'control' we have is in timing of when we jump in - birth - to the earth sphere. In doing so, we give permission to how the conditions here could affect us. We don't control the weather when we go out, but we can choose to take a raincoat or umbrella or sunglasses.

I like the fantasy---I don't know if I believe it, but I want to believe it---that the universe is conspiring to help all of us evolve in a beautiful way---so heavily-fated-seeming natal aspects or transits are designed as challenges for us to rise to, so that we can move to a higher vibration/higher octave.IP: Logged |
