I've had one period of my life where I borderline suffered from a bit of depression but besides that, I'm generally in good spirit. I may not always be extremely happy but I'm always content. If things in my life aren't going as planned, I just kinda ride it out and let time pass by and have this "it could be worse" mentality. I've also met other Sag Risings that are generally happy-go-lucky. Anybody else? IP: Logged |

I seem to gravitate to Sag Asc folks, and I agree. They never really seem to get terribly depressed or bummed out. Sometimes angry if they're being stifled in some way, but not "down", generally. Even the Scorpio Sun I knew with Sag Asc was a bit that way, although less than the Libra, Aqua, Leo, and even Virgo people in my life. IP: Logged |

I have my moodswings like everybody else, I get sad and melancholic, but I donīt think I really get depressed in the clinical sense. Somehow there is that feeling of "I may not understand it now, but if that is how it is right now, then there is a reason for this, and I will understand later". I donīt know basically always feeling like even when I am sad and down, there is a reason/ purpose behind it. The worst feeling actually is apathy or feeling numb to me, and yes, I`ve been in that valley, for some years actually, until I could see the "world in colours" again. IP: Logged |

My dad can be that way, but he has admitted to holding things, and being strong for everyone else. I'd prefer he get it out to someone. He will take something, and turn it into a "bit" though - which works for us. He bought me a magazine featuring a well-known buddhist women, last Sunday, and he took one thing from it, and did that: he keeps telling me to "look at the sky" with a smile, and it's become an inside joke. Same I sense purpose in everything so if i'm going thru a bad time I just figure I'm overdue for it and I'll learn something new from it. I went thru my numb/apathetic phase too - actually that was the closest thing i've had to depression. IP: Logged |

My Sag rising cousin is generally upbeat, but he has his moments. Those moments don't linger too long, and having a Pisces moon and 8H Cancer Mars does seem to beg for some moodiness.IP: Logged |

Saddness is a human emotion that I think all signs can experience. I am a Sag asc and had my share but childhood issues might moreso be the cause there. I agree, finding inner strength and pulling through it is best. Maybe if Sag rising is in a water house, more sadness might be possible though?

Sag riser here too and I concur with Ceri. I have good and bad days, I can feel very sad. I cry every month for as long as I can remember at some point or another, I guess I need the emotional release. The more you avoid pain the more it hurts but when you allow yourself to feel the pain the quicker you heal. I would say I feel pain has a function and is necessary we feel it to heal, grow and in order to feel joy bc if you numb pain and sadness you also numb joy. But yes I always get back up no matter what, I never give up and my spirits always return to that posivity and looking at the bigger picture frame of mind that Sag is known for. In spite of all the ups and downs in my life I feel blessed. IP: Logged |

Yeah I definitely used to be a Debbie Downer quite a bit - my ex would always tell me this, hence the reason he is my ex But when I am down it does not last long and I soon return to being a wide eyed curious Saggy ASC. But natal Saturn is in the 1st H - maybe the reason I'm less bubbly Saggy than the other Sag ASC that I know. IP: Logged |

Another Sag ascendant here, and agree with Ceri.I can have my times of Chironic style painful sadness and hurt. I tend to hold back on my feelings, and feel isolated within my emotions. Will use the music to express those, mostly. I shift my focus to other people, and I feel touched by their pains, and I want to help meet them where they are, and lift. Some have suggested that I might not know what my real-true feelings are about some things? Tend to be affected by my body and my outer environment. I'd rather try to lift other people out of their pains, and tend to (in error, maybe,) feel that others would not be able to relate well to mine? (I'm, well, '~complicated', LOL). I want to share about deep philososphies, and lift things out from the deep depths in me, and tend to keep that to certain forums (like Yellow Wax, reading and commenting with intense Poets there). I communicate strongly with the music I leave. I don't stay down too long, because there is a type of buoyancy in me that rises back up. I like to 'feel' and share that there is a resurrection possible... not just for self, but for Humanity. There's just too much pain saturated into the atmosphere recently.... Too many deaths, so much suffering. I feel we need to be able to put ourselves in other people's shoes, and to truly realize how all-too-Human we are. (There, but for the Grace of God, go I....) Was born with a 6th House Sun, a few degrees below sunset, and My Moon just past the Noon position. But the (Rudhyar) Sabian for my Sagi Ascendant degree speaks of the Light on the Horizon, a New Dawn and Promise of a New Day. Wishing you all Love, and the sense of Company and Great Companions on your quests for the Great Adventures of Life. I'm a sag rising but I have neptune sitting on it. I daydream a lot and it's what keeps me for the most part positive. But, I definitely have periods where I'm extremely depressed. I'm learning that the root cause seems to be when things get to become too much of a routine.I cannot stand routine or boredom. I try to travel as much as possible. Traveling brings me such a euphoric feeling. Sag rising's love to travel because it expands our minds. Even when things aren't going great in my life, I somehow push through it. Its weird. My sad moments don't last long. The grass is always greener somewhere else. IP: Logged |

Interesting responses.I have a ton of Sag Rising people in my life, and I swear they can be annoyingly optimistic (including my husband, but they're all quite lovable). I've never noticed any of them to get particularly depressed, beyond what is normal for extraordinary circumstances, etc. Obviously, people become saddened by life circumstances from time to time, I highly doubt anyone is exempt from that. But yes, many of my Sag Asc friends can be a bit on the Mary Poppins side. IP: Logged |

omg!!! Violets... You should have been a younger child in either my babysitting years, or under charge in my household--- I handle tasks MUCH like a Mary Poppins!! Turn Work, into Play... and it makes better Resonance out to the Universe. EDIT-- Actually, I'm NOT as strict-acting as depicted in the film clip. ~~I'm Kind, rather than clip about it. Lol, Mirage. I don't know how your Virgo Moon handles that energy! My Virgo Moon, as much as I do love my numerous Sag Asc friends, is like...
Off topic a bit, I'm beginning to wonder if it's a combination of my Sun in H8 conjunct BML, in addition to a few hard aspects to my H3 Pluto that creates a lot of this. Although I do think the Moon speaks a bit for itself, heh.
But my Aries Venus and Sag NN do enjoy the fun. IP: Logged |

LOL I am like I said the type to be positive and look at the bigger picture and always get back up when I am down but yes I have ups and downs within a day and a month. Perhaps Jupiter conjunct uranus opposing Chiron plays a role in that. The moon also plays a huge role and I have moon in pisces so there you go. IP: Logged |

As a non-Sag Rising person with Sag placements, I don't find that I often feel terribly bleak about most situations, even with so much heavy outer planet action in my chart. I'm curmudgeony and prone to anxiety, but not particularly depressed, most of the time. I think that was cleared from my system during my teens and early twenties, lol. IP: Logged |

I was complaining about being pregnant in my forties (not particularly comfortable, even in my early forties and not in terribly bad shape), and my Libra Sun/Sag Asc friend was like "Oh, but blah blah blah glorious blah blah blah". I gave her a grumpy cat meme. Yes, I'm aware that we will have wonderful and lovely things ahead of us, of course. But seriously, let a Virgo Moon person gripe and leave them to it, for the love of all things holy. But I do love the infectious laughter. IP: Logged |

I have Sag Rising and Neptune in 1H, but not sitting right on my ASC. I never have depression but my down moments dont last long either. And yes, traveling is literally a passion, and I feel like it impacts me so much it really adds to my spiritual development. It's like a rush. Nature is also comforting too. IP: Logged |

Yes I think this is typical of Sag Risings. No matter how much they're hurting inside, on the outside they'll always have positive energy. IP: Logged |
