As in, the actual place, not the way it's decorated (although I came across a cute little "hobbit" type place, on a site called Old House Dreams. here: http://www.oldhousedreams.com/2016/05/13/1935-french-eclectic-knoxville-tn/ )I daydream about bigger, old homes, like those you would find on the site above, only I don't like the way most of them are decorated. This is the one thing I still daydream about, on occasion. I fell in love with this one last year. It was close to where I live, and much smaller in person, than I expected, but I still think about it: http://www.zillow.com/homedetails/7298-Akron-Rd-Sterling-OH-44276/83076052_zpid/ I liked that it came with 5 acres, had a huge barn. I also loved the windows, how bright it was, and the arched doorways. Multiple doors, too, instead of just a front and back door. I have Mars in Pisces, in the 4th house, but ruled by Aquarius. I usually dream of much larger houses, with all sorts of pretty or interesting rooms. There are more houses on that site, with balconies, and beautiful porches. I like it to look cozy, no matter how large. IP: Logged |

I want an old barn. Materials I like are: wood, copper, iron and Moroccan tiles. I will NEVER live in a house with several floors and closed off-anything. I detest kitchen cabinets/cupboards with doors!! I detest new materials and want everything to be salvaged and old. Garden has to have lemon trees and white flowers but it doesn't have to be well kept. My dream is to find something similar in Italy with my husband and I thank God he has the same taste, and did even before we met. IP: Logged |

I definitely prefer old over new, like turn of the century at least. That's not what we're buying, of course, because homes like that are usually too expensive, or need a lot of costly repairs.I tend to have a preference for older brick homes (not particularly keen on Tudor styles, but they're still pretty from outside, although crunched inside sometimes), or simple Victorian style homes. Of course those are never the types of homes I live in, because they're expensive to buy, or expensive to fix up, so we buy what makes sense to us. Also, those homes tend to come with ghosts, which I prefer not to deal with in my personal space. IC at 0 degrees Scorpio Conjunct Uranus trine Sun/BML Sextile Moon Square Mars IP: Logged |

Yeah, those that don't need repairs, of those beautiful older homes, usually cost at least $400,000, it seems. The second home I linked to above, that I fell in love with just before Labour Day weekend, last year - that one sold for just a little bit more than our house is worth. I just didn't like the busy main road in front of it (and it was difficult to turn into the driveway).Oh, and I worry about ghosts, too. I think we had at least one here, when we moved in, and have had them before. charlie, I've always wanted to visit Italy. IP: Logged |

@ Teasel Yeah, when we were looking for homes in the Midwest, there were some really lovely places. But a lot of them needed a ton of work, or had energies I didn't care to deal with. And I know what you mean about being right on busy roads.

I like the look of old hardwood floors and primitive furniture.
I agree with you, and I also like old farmhouses. My cousins grew up in one, painted bright red with white trim, with a huge catalpa tree in the front yard, and an orchard on the property. Thankfully, my cousin bought that house from her mom, so we still get to go there for birthdays, etc. But they took out the orchard, and now just have a gigantic yard. IP: Logged |

I agree on the hardwood floors, but I would like my own furniture. I guess that's why, as much as I love the look of the huge old houses, I lean towards the smaller ones that I linked to. They have a warmth to them that I love. I hadn't realized that the Moon was in my 4th house, when I started this. I think it was when I looked at that site yesterday morning, as well. The moon is right around my Mars, and I'm feeling all dreamy and thinking about what I would do if different houses were mine. IP: Logged |

I was watching Little House on the Prairie a couple weeks ago, and I started crying- lol. That's my dream house and my dream life!I have a very large 1800s colonial. It's like the house isn't mine. It's like we have a business partnership and agreement- me and the house. I'm not high (today). Sometimes I need all the space. I have projects or I'm hosting children for the summer, but often rooms go unused. My children change bedrooms like nomads. Except for the love between us, this could seem like a pretty cold living situation. This summer (a quieter summer). I took one of the smaller "parlors" and made it the family room. We're all crowded in there- on top of each other and I feel like we're home for the first time since we bought the house almost 12 years ago. Sheesh! I said all that because it's interesting Teasel, that you mentioned Uranus ruling your 4th house and dreaming about larger homes. I guess I need a larger home, but it doesn't feel like home...unless I can crowd all my ducklings into a small room with me- ha ha. Cancer Sun/Venus Uranus in my Scorpio 4th house IP: Logged |

You sound just like me! When I was a kid, I used to dream of a house with at least eight bedrooms, with their own bathrooms, all decorated in different ways. I wanted the rooms to house the visitors we used to have - friends and family - but also because when I can, I like to switch rooms. I've even slept on the dining room floor before, and eight years ago, my mum helped me to move the living room furniture into the dining room. It was so cozy, and I loved it, but dad insisted we move it back a couple of months later. I also have Venus opposed my IC today, I think - I have Moon/Venus in Gemini natally, and I think that plays into my dreaming of a variety of rooms to play with or move between (and my Uranus conjunct ascendant). Thank you all for responding. I'm all alone at home, and I'm having one of those days where I wish I had family and friends here, to talk about anything and everything with. I love Venus transits. Oh, and Venus. I love this website: http://beautythatmoves.typepad.com. The woman who writes there, also loves Little House on the Prairie, and her lifestyle is mostly low-key and relaxing. She grows her own food and herbs, has chickens, and I think she's developing her own homestead further North, on a piece of land. She's been posting gorgeous pictures of Vermont countryside on her instagram. IP: Logged |

I prefer modern. And I don't care much for houses. I'd rather live in a nice apartment building in a neighborhood close to the city center. Leo IC Leo Mars IP: Logged |

First of all, I'd like a house or flat in the city; the right location in the right quartier would be important. Not too far from the city centre, but not too close to avoid noise, traffic... I want a comfortable home, which looks good and were things are easy to reach. I want it to be well lit up and I would like a large balcony if its a flat. Nothing too modern but not too old looking. Just comfortable and inviting. That's my dream place, although I don't spend much time thinking about this. Cancer IC Capricorn Mars IP: Logged |

Before I started a family, I really loved living downtown in the city, in an older apartment building (older in the US western states is often around the early 1900s).It was a nice brick building with windows that looked out into a small communal garden area, so the few trees there gave a nicer view than just staring out into the parking lot. I really liked that apartment, even though I would get home from working with mentally ill and addicted folks, and wake up at 4 am to hear other mentally ill and/or addicted folks yelling and doing other odd things. I was on the 3rd floor of a locked building, so I didn't worry much about any of that. I think that my Aries Venus must play some role in enjoying living in the city and being in large crowds downtown, despite my H11 Saturn. I do have Uranus conjunct IC, so that probably helps. But also perhaps with Scorpio covering my H4, I prefer more solitude and a quieter, theoretically safer environment for raising my kids. IP: Logged |

I live in a tiny place, have a tiny garden filled with fragrant flowers (gardenia, jasmine, orange jessamine...etc...) and I love it. I dislike clusters, so we only have a few pieces of furniture. The only decorations are photos, paintings, tiny flower pots and small sculptures. The Capricorn influence wants a simple, minimalist life-style. IP: Logged |

A beautiful, modern glass house buried far away in lush mountains, surrounded by nature & water. I also like medieval architecture - it brings out the darker side to my personality. Scorpio sun Sagittarius moon Aquarius rising IP: Logged | |
