I know the Sun conjunct the descendant is the same as the Sun opposite the ascendant, but I specifically want to know how this would play out from the Sun-Descendant perspective?I know the descendant is the qualities you would seek in a partner so does that mean people with this aspect seek themselves? They believe their character and qualities are what they would consider their perfect match? I have Sun in Scorpio and descendant in Scorpio. I also have: Sun conjunct descendant Pluto conjunct descendant Mars (1st degree Sagittarius) conjunct descendant. IP: Logged |

Hi Yan. It's a pretty wide Orb, but I think it is normally difficult to see yourself objectively. Or trouble with self expression. IP: Logged |

Hi Ellyn I definitely don't have trouble with self-expression so it might be the having trouble seeing myself objectively part. IP: Logged |

Yeah, with you this is a Nodal thing, so it makes it doubly important. Not the Sun so much as the Mars. IP: Logged |

Their identities are invested in their relationships to such an extent that they can easily feel "incomplete" without a partner. Their basic life energy is orientated towards relating. They need people like they need air, and especially close, intimate relationships. A relationship can "make" them or "break" them easier than other people. There can be issues with dependency and a lack of will to leave a toxic relationship.IP: Logged |

Cause, I mean; you have both Rulers Conjunct, and the Node.Sun is there too, loosely. They sort of lead to one another... Don't they lead to a Jupiter/Venus? So, I mean; it's no surprise that work is your life. Work and Partnerships... With a side of Spiritual. IP: Logged |

My Sun conjuncts my DSC and in my experience it indicates attractiveness. I've always been independent, or my "own man", but I also tend to be a people magnet. People were always drawn to me and interested in me. With Sun con DSC, you're a people magnet, with Sun con ASC you want to go outwards towards people They are both one and the same, but they just have different ways of expressing itself IP: Logged |

Could that be because you are male? I've sun conjunct desc and if I have those qualities I experience them as latent and more often experience through relationships with those types IP: Logged |

I don't think it has to do with my gender. Your rising sign may play a big role though I think it's the rising sign that will draw people in when there is an opposition to the DSC My rising is In Aquarius, which explains why I'm so independent and "self employed". The masculinity I see in the world because of my Sun in Leo may draw that Leo energy towards me from others. I've always found myself in the spotlight.....even though I don't care for the spotlight. I hate being the center of attention, but I always end up in it. IP: Logged |

Here's another good way to put it. When the Sun is on the DSC, you "draw" in that energy from others, or you see that energy in the world. When the Sun is on the ASC you try to push that energy on others, or in the world. Both Sun conjunct/oppose the ASC are very powerful because it deals with the Ascendant itself. Which is crucial to understanding your identity. If your Sun is on the DSC (7th house), then it means you are here to bring some form of balance to the world through yourself..(check your rising and what sign your sun falls in for deeper meaning) IP: Logged |

I started thinking about this, and it occurred to me that it made perfect sense. Because when you say the Sun is on your Descendant, what that actually means is that the Earth is Rising. IP: Logged |

Haha, it's funny you mention this.
I always try to hide when I enter a room, but it always seems like eyes are always on me. I could be the ugliest person that day, but for some reason, I get stared at like I have a unicorn on my head.

I do have a bit of a mental block to do with the dsc but what you say does kind of feel familiar at least in these terms ... I do feel an active passivity, receptivity in so much as it almost feels equivalent to me in receiving energy as in projecting energy. When there's some eclipsing of me by others I feel that edge around me of flame .. In the absence a presence. It reminds me of how in team sports I took more pleasure in being the one catching all the gaps so others could do their attacking than playing a more central role .. I could feel more alive in that way but that might be a 6th house sun thing. That kind of receptivity does feel like it's to do with the structure of my chart too than actual character because as it happens I'm not a good listener IP: Logged |

Everyone's different. Don't analyze it too much though. From my experience, the Sun indicates how things in life will influence who you are. With the opposition to your rising, a balance will have to be made. Which will ultimately involve your impact on other peoples lives.
Take Sigmund Freud for example..greatest psychiatrist ever...BUT also look at Adolf Hitler lol IP: Logged |

I just don't really understand how it works tbh and trying to. But yes can see how the back and forth bt asc and sun creates this dialogue with identity & some unusual energy thing going on. Freud & hitler are good examples to muse on IP: Logged |

I feel like it makes my identity easily warped by who I am surrounded by. I think it makes me easily attracted to people like I notice people very easily. Sometimes leads me to passivity and giving away my "sun" or light to others. Definitely has its positives and negatives. IP: Logged |

I have the same placement. Sun conjunct DSC in Scorpio in the 7th house with Venus in Libra and Mars in Aries.I have crushes. A lot. I like everyone. If I met you people in this forum I'd probably like one or two of you easily. And you are right. I bet like me you tend to either like Scorpio Suns, or people with some sort of Scorpio energy. My relationships/hook ups tend to be with people who have Water or Earth Suns with Air or Fire Mars/Venuses. But if someone has a Venus or Mars or anything in Scorpio my Sun and DSC go into major liking mode. If it's Mars in Scorpio I'll find them incredibly sexy. If it's Venus I like the way they express themselves and their manner of dress. If it's Sun, I just like their personality in general. One of my hook ups that took off like a rocket had her Sun, Merc, Venus in Scorpio conjunctive my Sun/DSC and her Mars in Gemini hitting my Aries. Yea, we were really into each other quick and very affectionate. Really saw each other as ideal partners. I hope my experience sheds some light. IP: Logged |
