Would you say then that air is dry or wet?According to Ayurveda, Vata is a water/air combo. However, Vata types are generally dry and cool (I know it's true for me - which is why I figured air might be dry). (Thinking about this why does it feel like Saturn? Isn't Vata really unlike Saturn?)
I think generally one 'element' needs to have the ability to interconnect with another element through one of its temperaments, which I heard one Astrologer speak about.
As an example, fire and earth likely relate though dryness. However fire is hot and earth is cool. Which makes sense when you think about a burning log. It can only actually burn if the log is dry. That's how they relate.
If that's the case, earth and water would connect through it's coolness.
Fire and air through heat?
And water and air via wetness.
So, would it be fair to say that:
Fire = dry and hot
Air = wet and hot (although would conflict with Ayurveda which considers air dry)
Earth = dry and cold
Water = wet and cold
Would you be able to share any insights you have on this? I think it's pretty interesting to see how it relates to real life scenarios. Like, given that fire and water don't connect via temperament (within the previous setup)... When brought together, fire either dries out water or water extinguishes fire. And same with earth and air. Think tornado. Or when ones' airpipe is obstructed air can't pass through. The two clash seemingly not being able coexist.
It is interesting though to see Ayurveda consider these two opposites (air and water) "Vata". Or perhaps Vata relates to the mutable quality. Pitta to the cardinal and Kapha to the fixed which actually feels correct.
Edit
Sorry the last paragraph disregard they actually do interconnect. (Water and Air)
