I read the following on the below site, and wondering if anyone with a 3rd house Jupiter can relate?

https://www.bobmarksastrologer.com/thirdhouse.htm

"One drawback here is that, if you are ever depressed, no one will believe you because your communications SOUND so cheerful. Speech flows freely, sometimes too freely."

What sign is Jupiter in? I think most sites make assumptions that Jup is in Sag(natural zodiac) or in its exalted position(Cancer).

Mine's in Leo. And it rings very true for me.

I initially thought it's other placements of mine that cause this, but this just feels like it makes sense I guess. (Other factors which I thought was the reason for this is 1, my Moon in 12 which conceals emotion and 2, which is similar to what was stated, is Jupiter square my Mercury. Which would also make sense, however not sure its impact since the square is out of sign and at 8+ degrees.)

Do you have any knowledge/experience with out of sign aspects and its' potency?

I have the Sun sextile Pluto. The orb is about 2 degrees and out of sign.

Leo placements can often downplay the negative. However some can be ALL drama.

I know someone with Jupiter in Leo, he philosophises his problems. His Sun in Sag is in mutual reception with Jupiter in Leo though.

I think this works much like a conjunction between the two planets. Added Merc in Sag there in the mix.

I hear you. It's interesting I wonder if I philosophise my problems. I think I always downplay it and joke about it more than anything, to the outside world that is. With the thought that people generally aren't interested in dealing with others issues. And if they do 'they'd pick up on it'. But again mine's not in mutual reception so it's different. I guess.

You have to remember that Jupiter,9th house are both the archetype of Sag.

So wherever Jupiter is placed in the chart or in aspect etc. is where one is;

(A) likely to be philosophical with problems related to the house or aspect planet concerned.

(B) The native will joke around problems related to the house or aspect planet concerned.

I have a stellium of planets in the 9th, Jupiter is in Sag is also there AND rules the 9th house cusp.

I would like to think that "God" has a sense of humour and not nearly as serious as we think she is.

I find religious satire quite funny

I relate to this... in that, I think it's how I come off. We've exchanged dark stuff a little, you tell me. I think this fits me because I try/make sure to/put effort into not bringing others mood down.

I do not have Jupiter-3 (mine is 2) BUT my H3 Ruler is in a very strongly aspect with Jupiter. Then I'm quite Jupiter-infused, as we've discussed. It also Trines my Merc, double-whammying what I previously chalked up to H3-Ruler.

@ULT12

Yes actually, but you come off rather disconnected and indifferent to it vs actually 'upbeat' about it? I think. Which makes sense given your Cap Moon... I mean you don't sound 'depressed' or anything when stating stuff, rather matter of fact, as you said... Like this is it, face it or sumtin. Which is good actually, and makes it easier on me to be honest lol. Cuz it's true, people get caught off guard and don't necessarily know how to respond... So your way of dealing with it helps. (I mean generally though I've learnt that people in whatever situation have already made peace with whatever they're going through by the time it comes to you talking to them. So when it comes to you/one hearing it and acts all emotional it's just 😏😏😏 so yeah I'm trying to stay aware of that fact I guess. It's more annoying, from my experience, to listen to someone trying to empathize with you vs someone listening to it as if it's just part of life. Which in all honesty that is life. It sucks unless you change your perspective. Again that's just my opinion and experience. Everyone goes through **** on different levels. And I'm not trying to mitigate your situation lol.)

I forgot I have Mercury in the 9th.Works like a water mouth.A thought process/ information feeding/expression that keeps on expanding indefinitely.

Jupiter in 3rd is directly opposite to that. But there is a link I.e both are hooked on talking/thinking a lot since Jupiter rules the 9th (natural zodiac) and brings its ideas to the 3rd I.e it expands the 3rd.

Mercury in 9th similarly brings its own ideas to the expansive 9th from the 3rd (natural zodiac) & populates the 9th.

The potential for attraction(platonic or otherwise) between Jup in 3rd and Merc in 9th is likely. They mirror each other in very interesting ways.

I see the Jupiter in 3rd as the type to have long a** convos with siblings, have a sibling living abroad or one who studies communication related themes in varsity.

I as a Mercury in 9th have trouble with "small talk" sometimes. It could be because i want to dive into BIG ideas. So I wonder if Jupiter in 3rd is the same?

I had a boyfriend with this placement. Jupiter in Aquarius in the 3rd.

He was very talkative (sun in the 3rd too), and at 22 had published a best-seller!

@Aries23Degrees

I'm not a fan of small talk... And maybe I can attribute it to the Jupiter-3rd house... But I'm not sure if Jupiter just increases the 'amount' of talk or actually infuses said talk with 'content'? I noticed I either talk too much or not at all... But I find myself continuously being chatty about 11th house matters... And perhaps it works in tandem, that when I do find a topic interesting I can just go on forever... But yeah, small talk just makes me feel uncomfortable and I never precisely know how to 'act' in such situations.

My younger brother, with Jupiter (in Cap) in the 3rd as well always seemed to have had interest in languages, and constantly evolves in that area... I guess confirming what you stated earlier...

True. Content is everything. My Mercury.is parallel Jupiter close to exact.Saturn also rules Mercury.

There are some Gemini Moon people that talk on and on without much substance. Drives me nuts.

I don’t think that’s just a Gemini thing. I’ve had two different people talk to me at once, as I tried to keep up with both, and it was doing my head in. I can talk a lot when I’m nervous, but prefer to be around others who are talking, or just a nice mutual amount - just chatting.

I can be really quiet, and people don’t like that either. Sometimes you can’t win.
