Anthony bourdain died in apparent suicide. I loved that man! Seemed such a sweet, fun, smart soul.

It says he's either an Aquarius or Capricorn moon, with all this xapricron lately do you think he is a cap moon?

He has Sun at 4' Cancer so TR Saturn was going over his Sun in opposition for the 2nd time now. Kate Spade had the transit in conjunction. It must have been disheartening and hopeless time for these two souls.

Ugh. This one hurts. Goes to show you even people with what looks like exciting lives can be hurting on the inside. Does anyone notice any patterns with suicide rates? Is it all the capricorn energy? Too many heavy doses of reality?

I think he must be a cap moon. Also, i am experiencing some tough luck energy now too as Cap sun. My sun is further off though so its only lingering thoughts of suicide that have unfortunately crossed into my mind recently. Im just really stressed out and annoyed by life now.

My mother is a capricorn too but hers is earlier on (Dec 23) and she has also been feeling it too. Just yesterday she broke down crying while on the phone with her job bc of something that happened there earlier that week. I was scared at first bc i thought maybe she got fired but she didnt. She then told me that “its just so hard to breathe sometimes, that’s all.” And that hurt me a lot. I understand completely but also i hate that we are going through this. Life sucks when youre a Capricorn. Honestly.

Tell me about it. I have Saturn in Cappy, and things are a bit better, but I doubt I'll win the lottery, or anything like that!

How sad , he did seem really sweet, I agree.

He has sun in cancer and moon in aquarius, makes sense he seemed like a caring friendly sweet guy with those placements. Although perhaps he had moon in capricorn at late degrees. TOB unknown.

His Sun in cancer at 4d02 was getting hit by saturn in Capricorn via an opposition by 3d applying since tr saturn is retro right now.

This is not written in stone but I have a strong suspicion his Moon is at 26 degrees 25 minutes Capricorn because is Solar Arc Saturn exactly conjuncts that point today. It would give him a Gemini Ascendant at 14 degrees 11 minutes. That would also give him a Cancer 2nd House and a Cancer 3rd house of the frame of mind; Moon, is then, the ruler of both 2nd and 3rd house. When transiting or Solar Arc Progressed Saturn stressfully contacts the Moon (conjunction, square, opposition, Semi-Square, Sesquiquadrate or Quindecile) it can suggest strong depression.

If you notice that he already has natal Pluto square Saturn, that also brings in the strong pressure of Pluto to Solar Arc Square that Moon also. Solar Arc Pluto was already in affect suggesting strong emotional pressure affecting the 2nd and 3rd house issues. 2nd house issues of personal finances and feelings of self worth. 3rd House rules the frame of mind, correspondence, short distance travel, walking and communication. I would not be shocked to find out, as more news is revealed that he may have been in a depression about possible financial issues, which he has mentioned being in severe debt in his past, right up until his 40's when his life changed for the better, financially.

To me, what already suggests his lifetime bout with depression is natal Saturn tightly quindecile (165 degrees aspect) his Mercury. No matter what time he was born, that particular aspect can suggest strong depression, but that's not the only energy it carries, it's just one of it's characteristics. It can suggest great skill with his hands, great communication, his writing - he is the author of several books, not just cook books. Leonardo DaVinci also had Saturn quindecile Mercury and was suggestive of his excellent skills of drawing, painting and writing.

I couldn't say that I was a fan of Anthony Bourdain because I haven't watched a large amount of cable television over the last 15 years, but as a very prominent person, I knew OF him and was always curious to know more. I've been watching lots of videos about him on YouTube today and I was right to be curious. What a life!! What an adventurer!! And honest about his past struggles with substance abuse.

I just saw one more thing. A year has passed since Solar Arc Venus came to square his natal Saturn. That's usually suggestive of a testing of trust in relationship and/or even heartbreak. I wouldn't be surprised if it was connected. I also came across information that his relationship with the mother of his child ended 2 years ago, I don't know exactly when, but that would particular arc would suggest a situation like that.

Last year I had Tr Saturn conjunct my Neptune and square my Sun and Moon all at the same time and one after the other, it was a rough year emotionally but I did not attempt suicide. To me suicide has never been an option though, in my mind I think that things always turn around eventually and that we are only here for so long so I might as well ride it out and hold on till the end. Don't get me wrong I understand that emotion of feeling like "I rather not be here right now" but emotions and thoughts come and go and tough times eventually pass and joy comes back. Nothing is permanent including this life. I may not feel happy but eventually I know I will feel ok again. Life is crazy, filled with ups and downs, you ride out the roller coaster.

He was a heroine addict in the 80s and he has a history of having bouts of depression.

Bless his soul, I really liked him, this is truly a shame.

Fantastic read, Geocosmic Valentine.

There are many souls who are being hit financially now, through changes made by the current administration and rippling out globally.

Suicides are UP, blanket across the USA.
As MORE financial rips occur from unwise decisions made in government and politically-based leaderships (globally), it's leading people into H8/Scorpionic issues-- ability to self-empower or disempower, bankruptcies/debts/banksfinances/Deaths. ADD the influence of Neptune trining from Pisces, increased escapism (of which suicide is the ultimate expression), alcohol/drugs, addictions of all kinds, and you've got a kind of 'enabling' of all of this.

Too much compounded debt+interest, without enough Hope of being able to dig self/family out in a reasonable amount of life's time. This can disparage and weigh down the self, as well as the connecting corresponding relationships-- stresses, breakdowns-- which also ripple out to community upsets.

Kids are picking-up on ALL THIS ENERGY too.

{{{{ for the children of a few recent suicides... What a horrible shock-WOUND for them.
Gouge-out a chunk of their SOUL and tribe and being 'safe' in this world.

In a way, they are being taught on a subconscious level that the solution to your problems is "just ending-it-all."

Everything is futile.
And in a way, that's been 3D true in this present state, unless socio-equalizing Change happens.

What an "imprint" to leave on tender souls and psyches. These kids left behind, generationally are in their Jupiter years, and their Saturn opp Saturns.}}}}

(song) We need a Little Christmas???
Jupiter to Sagittarius??
C'mon Jovian dude! Bring it.
We need 'Hope and Light' Season to enter our lives again?

My DEEPEST sincerest condolences to ALL affected.

I haven't verified it, but an 8th house group I belong to claimed he was an 8th house sun. From what little I know of him, that would fit him well, so that would put the TOB in the late afternoon.

I see him more as having an Aquarius moon (in the early degrees) like Princess Di. They both seem to be unpretentious and able to hang out with lesser people even if they achieve the heights of stardom, which is more a characteristic of universalist and humaniterian Aqua moon than calculating and status conscious Capp moon.

Aqua moon means his moon has 2 rulers, Uranus and Saturn.

My guess is that the entry of Uranus into Taurus, squaring his moon in the early degrees of Aqua set him off and he did something that surprised the whole world, which is very characteristic of Uranus when it strikes.

Saturn, another ruler of his moon was also opposing his sun by transit. That might have been too much for him and he did not see a way out.

This news made me very sad. I really enjoyed Kitchen Confidential and admired it very much - hilarious and passionately written.
I don't know what he was going through but maybe the Uranus in Taurus thing had something to do with it. I'm not sure.
