Natally I have it in Pieces and over the years it changed first into Aries - I became more physically active, interested in sports and more self confident. Then it progressed into Taurus and I put on a lot of weight. Found myself loving rich foods, luxury items, good fabrics etc. And now in couple of years it will progress into : Gemini. This will coincide with progressed Venus on my Sun. Do you think there's a chance to loose weight under that progression? What are your experiences?IP: Logged |

crystal,Something else accounts for your energy levels and weight changes. Even though it is in common use and has been for a long time, what you describe is a bogus progression of the Asc. The Asc moves according to the Earth's movement, which turns through all 12 zodiac signs every 24-hour period (actually 361°). That means in day-for-year progressions, your Asc progresses 361° every year. There is no slow gradual progression of the Asc taking years, except in astrologer's minds who are attempting to reformulate and recalculate nature. Recently I sent an email to astro.com asking they include quotidian true progressions in their Extended Chart Selection options, and they have. On that page scroll down to the left and you will find it under Display and Calculation Options: ARMC 361°/prog.day. ------------------ "Drift like a cloud and flow like water, seeing that all life is a magnificent illusion, a playing of energy, and there is absolutely nothing fundamentally to be afraid of." -- Alan Watts Soul Stars Astrology by The Declinations Guy Expert Rectification IP: Logged |

This is good news, Kannon. This means that the pAsc moves one degree per day.Fantastic. I have the pMoon's role in synastry, and recently the pSun. Next up is the pAsc. I used to think the pAsc was a major attractor is synastry. This, until I realized my nSun (18°) and nAsc (17°) were pretty close, and it was my pSun attracting those people into my life. I just tried Kannon's menu. As of now my pAsc is not 27° Libra, but 0° Capricorn. Worthy of further exploration. IP: Logged |

No ... Hold on a minute. Depending on location, the Earth's rotation is very irregular against the backdrop of the zodiac. So no, you cannot apply 1° per day to the progression of the Asc just because it covers 361° per year. That is its per annum 'landing place', but the further north or south the latitude from the equator, the more irregular its movement will be during that period. Example 1 - location: Gothenburg, Sweden, latitude nearly 58° North. Example 2- location: Quito, Ecuador, on the equatorial degree. So quotidian true progressions cannot be applied accurately in a degree-per-day fashion like the solar arc degree-per-year. The Sun's movement is far more regular, the Earth's rotation (Asc) irregular.

In the 15th August 2018 clarification by Kannon ... what would be the degree-difference in the movements of the two progressed ascendants if both natal charts were for the same Universal Time?[This (I think) is the same as asking "does lattitude affect the speed at which each zodiac sign rises?"] IP: Logged |
